One of the best dining experiences of my life! I have been to some of the best restaurants in New York, Paris, London and Los Angeles, but few come to the level that I experienced at Patina's! An outstanding group of servers that I would experience again and again! Great food, great people, and great treatment!
Patina is, in my mind, at this time, the top restaurant in Los Angeles. It is comparable only to other multi Michelin starred restaurants around the world. There is a new chef who returns the cuisine to European/American greatness. The front of the house is friendly, knowledgeable, and provide perfect service. Carlos the bread server is still there (many other staff have changed) providing warmth in bread and personality. The new staff is excellent.
To experience Patina at it fullest try come for a long dining session, coming just for a pre-performance meal is very good, but you miss the peak experience that it can provide. Our most recent dinner was after a Matinee at the music center, we left about 10 PM, very satisfied.
The prix fixe menu gave us great choices and the food was divine. The service was absolutely superb.
It had been a while since we dined at Patina. We forgot how wonderful the restaurant is. The food was delicious and lovely in presentation. The service was outstanding. Very attentive. Good wine selections. It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal. We will return soon.
Fantastic food and impeccable service. The tone is set when the water sommelier presents the water menu. It's that kind of place. Every bite is exquisite, and, in fact, the waters are amazing. Price makes this a special occasion place to dine. With wine and coffee and the three-course prix fixe, count on $200 per person.
Patina was a shambles. Two orders arrived by mistake. By the time they had been corrected, other diners were finished. My entree, a chicken dish, arrived tepid on the outside and cool on the inside. Had to almost beg to have wine served with appetizer. Dover Sole a disaster, nothing but an unpleasant mustard taste. This restaurant requires an expensive prix fixe three course meal. Many these days do NOT want desserts. Clearly the business plan is to give comfort to the bottom line, not the patron. Patina does NOT deserve to occupy this iconic space the Disney Hall.
Excellent service and ambience. Slightly overpriced for what it is.....
Quite pleasant dinner prior to absolutely fabulous recital with YoYoMa, Axe, and Kavaka
I like Patina for its quiet atmosphere and the fact that there is plenty of room between tables so that you're not having much contact with other guests. It's one of the few places around that doesn't pipe in loud music, which makes it possible to enjoy the company and conversation of your friends.
The here are only two pix-fixe menus--both running upwards of $100 a person and by the time you add the fois gras, drinks, wine, tip, you're into $200 a person. I thought the food and mixed drinks were very good, but my wife had the fois gras and wasn't impressed--she found that a membrane was not removed. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience but a bit on the pricey side.
Great when you're attending a concert at the Disney ! Also, the manager, Charles, was very nice.
So happy to eat in a quiet restaurant!
This dinner was an amazing experience! Wonderful and attentive staff, beautifully presented food, amazing flavors, and an extensive and impressive selection of bottled waters and wine. The only complaint was a very large business party in the side private space who were pretty loud so it counteracted the wonderful atmosphere of the restaurant. Also loved the silverware with the exception of the dessert spoon - was way too large for the dish. All in all this was an excellent dining experience though and the variety of the tasting menu, although slightly out of my comfort zone, was well worth the food adventure. No regrets. Highly recommended.
We had such a nice dinner here. The service is attentive and helpful, upscale without being pretentious. The wine tasting paired with each course was a really nice touch.
very good food and service. very good experience highly recommended！
The convenience of going there before the opera can't be beat. The valet is $8.00 and you walk one block to the Dorothy Chandler after dinner. The service was fabulous and decor beautiful. The food presentation was also lovely, but I had fish for the main course and it was overcooked and not tasty. It's a prex fixe menu, which was over $100.00/person, so be prepared.
Lovely hosts. DELICIOUS meal.
The most you can pay for a meal in LA. Not the best food. Maybe the worst service. At one point I actually turned to my wife and asked if we did something wrong. They forgot our food and tried to pretend they didn’t. We were there for three hours. Everyone in ththe restaurant looked bored. The food was underwhelming for the price. Skip it.
Best meal ever! Excellent food, wonderful waitstaff!
this is one of the best restaurants in LA. We enjoy going there before the theater. the service is absolutely fabulous and food is very fine gourmet!
Impeccable. An icon in the restaurant world.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. The food was exquisite. Martin was a gracious manager and all my special request were taken care of. The service was excellent. And finally, Linda, our sommelier, was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The 2001 Dauvissat Chablis Premier Cru was the hit of the night. Right behind that was the 2010 BDX Fluery. It was a night to remember.
Outstanding restaurant in every way. Every detail, every person and every plate had something special. Most of all, the precise but casual and convivial attitude of the staff, from the chef down to the junior waiter was superb. Our visit and meal was a master demonstration in the art of living and enjoying it; a high point of civilization, and a beacon of elegance and refinement. Excellent.
3-course meal, complete with amuse-bouche and petit four, was excellent. Started with hamachi/scallop/octopus & Dungeness crab, both had an explosion of flavours. The wagyu beef was plated beautifully and all items of this course were amazing and were balanced well, not just in flavour, but also texture. Ivory and rose desserts were just the right amount of sweetness and of intensity of flavours. Great atmosphere and perfect just before the concert. Would return!
This is definitely the best restaurant in LA in my opinion.
Everything from the caviar service to the last little sweet treats at the end was spectacular. Our waiter, Mario, made so many excellent recommendations starting with the great water from Denmark through many of the wines by the glass and he recommended the sweet breads. I thought it was one of the most flavorful and unique presentations of sweetbreads I have had in a while. They definitely made our 32nd wedding anniversary celebration special. We cannot wait to return!
By far the best experience of my life time. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing night. The epitome of excellence and a real treat to anyone who is looking for a lovely restaurant with great people.
Everyone were excellent, from our server, sommelier, to the manager.
We were able to sit at the chef's table, for a great guys night out, and it met all expectations.
Looking forward to return.
The 3 course meal was excellent, if a little pricey, but that was to be expected, when I checked the menu. Would highly recommend it for a special occasion! My girlfriend can't eat Gluten and they were very accommodating. The service was great!
What a wonderful experience through and through. The food is thoughtfully infused with flavors and true culinary passion without being pretentious. The staff all serve a vital and seamless role in your dining experience. Each member brings knowledge and a desire to make sure your experience is just perfect. Celebrating my husbands birthday at Patina was such a delight. And to top it off, with the birthday dessert arrived a hand written note from the talented chef. Just a beautiful evening!!! We will be back. (Rose pana cotta with saffron sorbet is something I’ll never forget! Nostalgic for me and just emotionally moving)
The food was so delicious. We were very satisfied with all the dishes.
They were super accommodating for my mom's food allergies. The cheese cart is easily the most delicious thing there. The staff and chef were very attentive and exceptionally thoughtful. A delightful evening was had by all!
Absolutely loved our three hour dining experience here. We don’t live in la, but when we come back we will definitely be visiting here again.
This was only my second time dining at Patina and it was even more memorable. The service was prompt but confused. We were served the wrong course and wine during our meal, both were meant for other patrons.
The food was delicious and quite filling despite the comparatively small portions. The wine was wonderful, yay Napa. I was especially pleased with the aesthetics and decor, including the acoustics. Finally, a dining experience where we could hear each other and converse.
The occasion was my mother's birthday and the pre-concert meal was wonderful. Thank you for not rushing us.
Here's the thing. I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate the end of our law school semester. I realize that the regular clientele at this restaurant is significantly older than us, however, we were well dressed and certainly could afford the meal that we were ordering. That did not keep the server from treating us as welcome customers and did not provide us with the same charming service as others on tables near us. For example, our dishes were not explained to us in the same detail, he made snarky comments regarding our ordering choices and I did not find his condescending banter with my boyfriend amusing. The food was good, even interesting, but I think that in this economy and with so many people choosing not to dine at a restaurant where a meal is $200 flat, I would suggest a place that treats you better.
We were warmly greeted and taken to our seat immediately. The decor is modern sparse but the wood walls warm up the interior. We visit Patina usually just for special occasions because of the price, but when Dine LA offered 6 courses for the price of 3, we had to go. Each course was delicious, as was the Amuse-Bouche that started everything off. I'm old enough to have tried many wines and know what I like, but elected to go with the recommended pairing. It was an excellent choice and the wines selected by the Somm, some of which were from California, paired perfectly with the food, each enhancing the other. It was a great dining experience, still expensive, but well worth it. Looking forward to returning.
We were there for DineLA and loved it. Every dish was delicious and reasonably priced.
Went to Patina for a pre-concert dinner. Cosy dining space especially if seated in the booths. Service was perfect, the staff provided a very comfortable service. The dishes were well made with fresh ingredrients and beautiful presentation. Portions were just right. Would definitely return again.
Patina is excellent. The service is superb, very high-touch. Christina the sommelier is amazing, very knowledgable but warm and open, not at all snooty like some can be. The food was delicious - we went for Dine LA so were able to try many different dishes. The wine list is very expensive, nearly all over $100 per bottle. Overall, would definitely come back for a special occasion.
We were impressed with the sommelier and the wine pairings she came up with. She was attentive and passionate about what she does.
Out of the six course menu, more than half of the dishes were stellar. Make sure you have plenty of time. Our meal took about 2.5 hours.
I really enjoy the food and service! The food is presented very pretty and delicate. The service was very nice. The only thing I would complain is the restroom and decoration are not pretty enough for this kind of high-end restaurant.
