excellent food, presentation, pacing and service. wait staff was very attentive, but not intrusive. quiet atmosphere. food was small portions, but very good. great presentation and use of spices. food came at a comfortable pace, and after 2 hrs, i was full. overall great experience although pricey.
We had a lovely time, it’s always a special treat to come here and celebrate any special occasion. The service, the food and the whole experience I can’t find anywhere else.
Great ambiance, excellent staff & service. Made our 50th anniversary very special. We appreciate the training & care that makes Patina the truly great restaurant it is.
For before theatre I would prefer a regular menu rather than prix fixe
The best choice for pre-opera meal. Give yourselves enough time as there can be a couple of extras in between courses. The wine pairing is an incredible value. The best meal in DTLA.
It's been several years since I've been to Patina, and I have to say I was rather disappointed this time. Both first and mains courses were not very good at all, surprisingly bland. The best parts of the meal were the extras: the amuse-bouche, a bit of grilled fish, and an extra desert of beautiful chocolates and cookies. But none of those were actually on the menu. I'm afraid I won't go back.
Always a treat to dine at Patina. They do a great job of getting show-goers out the door in time for curtain, as well.
Great service and food. We spend amazing time and will totally go back again soon.
That happy, buzzy feeling when you know you are eating next-level food prepared by a chef/artist. A great meal and staff.
Preconcert meal as a special occasion. Can't imagine any part of the the experience going better. Gracious and attentive service, restrained noise level (I asked for a quiet table and was very happy with the result), valet service was easy and reasonably priced, and there were several unexpected treats added to the food that was brought to us. I went to this restaurant once shortly after it opened 12 years ago and it didn't leave an impression, but now Patina will be my favorite for special memorable evenings, especially after the closing of Cafe Pinot a few blocks away.
Food was spectacular and plentiful. Service was impeccable.
The kitchen has improved significantly. The menu had grown tired and predictable. Now there is a more inventive range of choices. The quality of the fresh ingredients remains very high. The service is still attentive and charming without being pretentious. Kevin and his staff are just superb. The only changes are the stepped-up deliciousness and diversity of menu selections.
The food is always very good and we were not disappointed this time. What really sets this restaurant apart is the incredible service that starts the second you walk in the door. Our waitress was amazing and I have forgotten her name unfortunately but really enjoyed her! Just a delightful human that puts one in a great mood and sets a lively tone for the entire experience.
We dined here about 5 years ago and yesterday's experience was significantly better. We did the 7 course tasting menu and every course was excellent. The asparagus, scallops, and chocolate dessert were especially good. The wine pairings were fascinating, extremely well chosen, and a great value for $75. Service was efficient and friendly. A great place to go before a symphony or theater.
One of the best food in LA, attentive service, creative menu
We were treated like Royalty; attentive service and creative elegant food.
I had high expectations and they were not met. I ordered the chef’s tasting menu 5 dishes and wine pairing. The small dishes were very good but not excellent as I expected. My favorites were the smoked salmon cones and the scallops. The fish dish was unremarkable, the agneloti were very nicely presented but lacked flavor. The white asparagus again very nicely presented but the sabayon sauce unremarkable. Finally the waygu ribeye was flavorful and cooked as requested medium rare but the sauce unremarkable and the feuillete was great but the patatoes were cold
The wine pairing again a bit underwhelming, the bubly sake was not good at all, the New Zeland white wine was a interesting new for me, the Beilair wine was very good and the best of all was the Sauternes
My visit to Patina was fantastic. Everything from the phone call the day before to confirm my reservation, checking to see if I was seeing a performance and had time constraints ( I did not). To leaving the restaurant during a little rain and one of the staff walked me to my ride with an umbrella.
Every single person I interacted with at Patina made me feel extremely taken care, it was the perfect ending to my treat myself day. I cannot speak more highly of the staff, just wonderful.
Then there is the food, which was the cherry on top of my dining experience at Patina. There was not a dish below superb or wine pairing I did not enjoy with it.
Cannot wait to be able to treat myself to a night at Patina again.
Great service but the food is not that great . I tried the California squab & it’s a huge disappointment . They could have thought on how to make it tender & the presentation sucks as they included the nails of the pigeon
I was very happy to go back to Patina after all these years and find that they are at the top of their game. The staff could not have been friendlier - the food was excellent - the ambiance was beautiful - and the convenience to The Walt Disney Concert Hall cannot be beat. It was a perfect day and Patina and it's staff made it that much more special.
Patina’s at Disney Concert Hall is the best 5* I’ve had the pleasure to eat anywhere in the US including NYC, Boston and San Francisco. Amazing food, flavors, freshness, plating. Awesome and exceptional staff and service. Worth the price. Makes you feel special and remembers you after your first visit.
Patina was delicious as always and still has by far the best ambiance of any restaurant in Los Angeles if you want a quiet meal in a beautiful setting.
Service was impeccable. Presentation was artistic and visually stunning. Food was perfect. The chef sent a number of items to the table for us to enjoy. It was a wonderfully enjoyable evening from start to finish.
We had the three course meal. They brought additional appetizers which were a nice taste treat. We also received a sliced of terrific salmon, added at no charge. We both had the wage rib eye steak and it was perfection. The scallop appetizer was great also. This was a great meal before an Opera performance.
We have been here many times and it has always been a great experience.
It is expensive, no cheap alternatives here. But a great meal none the less. We will be back.
A wonderful meal prepared beautifully. Lovely service . Everything was top notch.
Wonderful food, superb hospitality. Patina made our anniversary so delightful. My husband and I enjoyed every bite, and every moment.
My husband had wine paring with the three course menu, and the sake which was served with Hokkaido Scallop Crudo was just amazing. Pacing of the dishes was perfect, not too slow or not too fast. We were so relaxed.
Thank you so much Patina. See you soon!
Outstanding restaurant, one of the best in LA well deserving of its reputation
Vegetarian menu option is fantastic, and Kevin is great!
The Chef’s Tasting Menu was incredible. The Saitama Wagyu was well worth the additional fee.
An awesome experience. While a lot of Joachim Splichal's empire can be hit and miss - especially in service - patine still shines in both exceptional food and impeccable service.
It did get a little slow in the end, the food isn't the most innovative, and the prices are high - but overall this remains a delightful experience in LA, and downtown.
We have already spread the ‘excellent’ word. Kevin is just delightful as is the maitre’d ( whose name I forgot) who explained charmingly and knowledgeable lay all the intricacies of the dishes.
The best food we’ve had this past month in L. A.!!
The service was perfect. The wait staff was there when you needed something and not when you didn't. The sommelier was outstanding!
Beyond incredible. One of the best fine dining experiences in the country and I’m just sorry that we had theatre tickets which forced us to leave too soon. Each course was impeccably prepared and presented and the service was attentive, gracious and perfect.
Two of us had the wine pairings and it was the right decision. The price is not for the faint of heart, but it was worth every penny
It was one of the most delectable priceless experiences we’ve ever had. Every detail was remarkable and the service was extraordinary. Our anniversary was in great hands!
One of the most fantastic meals ever! From the stellar and well paced service to incredible food and wine pairings, this was a uniquely wonderful and memorable experience! It was the most I’ve ever paid for a meal for two (over $400 including tip) and worth nearly every penny! The ultimate special occasion destination restaurant - in the Walt Disney Concert Hall building so most convenient for the concert we attended immediately afterwards.
Amazing service, delicious food, and fantastic wine and cocktails!!!
Had a wonderful time. Tamara was our server, everyone covered everyone. She did an absolute fantastic job. Kevin, General Manager greated us. He is so sweet and kind. We were celebrating our birthdays and the Chef Andraes sent out a delicious array of desserts with a generous note. All was a once in a lifetime experience.
Wonderful attention to detail and considerate service made a wonderful an unforgettable experience.
Very friendly service and very good food. Original flavors and outstanding wine menu
