We had an incredible meal and incredible service. Tamar was our server and she was the best - knowledgeable, thoughtful, friendly and witty. Amuse-bouche and hamachi courses were stand-outs. Had fun with the Water List. They watched our timing so we could comfortably make the show at The Ahmanson. Lovely to find the rest of our petit fours wrapped up and waiting in our car which we had parked with their valet. 5 stars all around.
From start to finish a great restaurant experience.
Expensive it is
I didn’t know it was a three or six course meal only. I prefer a la carte dining.
It is not the first time we are coming to Patina and we know why... From the entrance to our last step, we felt like we were home!
Mister Welby, the Director of the restaurant, is an elegant gentleman with such a presence into the room. His words are delicate and all his sentences contained a lot of rhetoric. The service we had from Xena, our waitress, Jon, the sommelier, and the other team members was sublime.
The food was exceptional and it was a veritable ballet. You can see the work, the personality, and the passion into each plate. Andreas Roller is a true conductor of this exceptional harmony.
I cannot recommend enough to go to Patina Restaurant. You will live a memorable moment!
From start to finish, this was a spectacular dining experience. DineLA week has started and we decided to try Patina out before a show at the Ahmanson. They called to confirm our reservation and let me know that we might want to come earlier to have a more relaxed experience, we went with their suggestion. The maître d opened the door for us and greeted us warmly. That was just the start to the fabulous service we received from every person working. Every bite we had over the 5 course tasting menu was AMAZING. The wine pairing we ordered with the tasting menu was spot on. Ambiance inside is relaxing, comfortable and décor is beautiful. Overall a wonderful meal and we will be returning.
Wonderful meal lovely Waite staff. Great for before theater dinner
Excellent restaurant; and the chef was very generous to us. The fish courses were delicious; however the ribeye was flat and had little flavor. Founding it odd the the palate cleanser was between our cheese course and dessert as opposed to the fish and meat course.
Overall it’s a great dining experience.
It was my girlfriend’s birthday. We go out to eat a lot and had always wanted to eat at the Patina Restaurant. It was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The food was exceptional, and inspiring the service was flawless. The wine pairing was just mind blowing. I highly recommend eating here. We will definitely be back.
Simply a higher standard of excellence when compared to other restaurants.
The service was excellent. Miguel serves professionally. We enjoyed all foods and their wonderful services. They are outstanding. I’d like to bring my friends next time again.
It has been a while since we have dined there, and we were reminded why this is one of the best restaurants anywhere. The service is absolutely impeccable. They expertly guide you through an complete experience from the moment you walk into that spectacular space. And they make you feel as if you are the most special person in the room.
We were also happy to see Mr. Welby back at the helm and this was our first time enjoying Andreas Roller’s exquisite cuisine. It was my birthday, so we indulged in the six course vegetarian tasting menu and added a shared fish dish. The food looked like artwork and the bold, creative flavor combinations were perfectly balanced in every bite. The John Dory was absolutely the best fish I have ever had.
The dining experience at Patina is truly unique in Los Angeles. That level of consistent excellence and attention to detail seems to be rare. It is always memorable, and Patina truly does it the best.
Great - we love this restaurant
Service and food was excellent
Plus they give us surprise dishes and birthday card
Extraordinary dining experience from first to last
Warm and professional service, excellent menu choices, beautiful decor and wonderful presentation
A very special place indeed
The waiters were very nice and accommodating. Foods were great and well worth the price.
Excellent food and presentation. Aside from the salad and vegi plate, the first two courses of the vegetarian six course meal, being a bit bland, the other four courses and my wife's 3 course meal (scallops, chicken and chocolate) was superb. The bread and the extras were also excellent. Great attentive service. Pricey, but worth it. Not as amazing as Disfrutur, a Michelin, two-star restaurant in Barcelona, but very good.
We loved the service and knowledge staff we’ll come back definitely
It was an incredible experience. I was celebrating my 60th birthday, and it was such a treat. The whole staff did a wonderful job.
Most of the food was very good, but our main dishes were under seasoned and the fish was overcooked. The prices ($110 3 course, $160 6 course tasting) are not as high as some gourmet restaurants but high enough to expect finesse with the food. That being said, we will go back as the overall experience was very nice.
The staff constantly rotated around which in principal seemed nice but when I needed something I often asked the wrong person and the right person would have to come back to the table after.
Location and ambiance was for the most part what was expected.
Food was great with one exception - we ordered 2 ribeyes. one medium, one mid-rare. the medium was mid rare and they had to re-fire and it still was rare in the middle. the mid-rare steak was closer to medium. I wouldn't normally be this critical but you are a Michelin star restaurant, the reason why we ate here, and I expected the food to be exceptional.
We went back to Patina last weekend, and had the tasting menu this time. Everything was very good, food was high quality, and the service impeccable.
excellent food, presentation, pacing and service. wait staff was very attentive, but not intrusive. quiet atmosphere. food was small portions, but very good. great presentation and use of spices. food came at a comfortable pace, and after 2 hrs, i was full. overall great experience although pricey.
We had a lovely time, it’s always a special treat to come here and celebrate any special occasion. The service, the food and the whole experience I can’t find anywhere else.
Great ambiance, excellent staff & service. Made our 50th anniversary very special. We appreciate the training & care that makes Patina the truly great restaurant it is.
For before theatre I would prefer a regular menu rather than prix fixe
The best choice for pre-opera meal. Give yourselves enough time as there can be a couple of extras in between courses. The wine pairing is an incredible value. The best meal in DTLA.
It's been several years since I've been to Patina, and I have to say I was rather disappointed this time. Both first and mains courses were not very good at all, surprisingly bland. The best parts of the meal were the extras: the amuse-bouche, a bit of grilled fish, and an extra desert of beautiful chocolates and cookies. But none of those were actually on the menu. I'm afraid I won't go back.
Always a treat to dine at Patina. They do a great job of getting show-goers out the door in time for curtain, as well.
Great service and food. We spend amazing time and will totally go back again soon.
That happy, buzzy feeling when you know you are eating next-level food prepared by a chef/artist. A great meal and staff.
Preconcert meal as a special occasion. Can't imagine any part of the the experience going better. Gracious and attentive service, restrained noise level (I asked for a quiet table and was very happy with the result), valet service was easy and reasonably priced, and there were several unexpected treats added to the food that was brought to us. I went to this restaurant once shortly after it opened 12 years ago and it didn't leave an impression, but now Patina will be my favorite for special memorable evenings, especially after the closing of Cafe Pinot a few blocks away.
Food was spectacular and plentiful. Service was impeccable.
The kitchen has improved significantly. The menu had grown tired and predictable. Now there is a more inventive range of choices. The quality of the fresh ingredients remains very high. The service is still attentive and charming without being pretentious. Kevin and his staff are just superb. The only changes are the stepped-up deliciousness and diversity of menu selections.
The food is always very good and we were not disappointed this time. What really sets this restaurant apart is the incredible service that starts the second you walk in the door. Our waitress was amazing and I have forgotten her name unfortunately but really enjoyed her! Just a delightful human that puts one in a great mood and sets a lively tone for the entire experience.
We dined here about 5 years ago and yesterday's experience was significantly better. We did the 7 course tasting menu and every course was excellent. The asparagus, scallops, and chocolate dessert were especially good. The wine pairings were fascinating, extremely well chosen, and a great value for $75. Service was efficient and friendly. A great place to go before a symphony or theater.
One of the best food in LA, attentive service, creative menu
We were treated like Royalty; attentive service and creative elegant food.
I had high expectations and they were not met. I ordered the chef’s tasting menu 5 dishes and wine pairing. The small dishes were very good but not excellent as I expected. My favorites were the smoked salmon cones and the scallops. The fish dish was unremarkable, the agneloti were very nicely presented but lacked flavor. The white asparagus again very nicely presented but the sabayon sauce unremarkable. Finally the waygu ribeye was flavorful and cooked as requested medium rare but the sauce unremarkable and the feuillete was great but the patatoes were cold
The wine pairing again a bit underwhelming, the bubly sake was not good at all, the New Zeland white wine was a interesting new for me, the Beilair wine was very good and the best of all was the Sauternes
My visit to Patina was fantastic. Everything from the phone call the day before to confirm my reservation, checking to see if I was seeing a performance and had time constraints ( I did not). To leaving the restaurant during a little rain and one of the staff walked me to my ride with an umbrella.
Every single person I interacted with at Patina made me feel extremely taken care, it was the perfect ending to my treat myself day. I cannot speak more highly of the staff, just wonderful.
Then there is the food, which was the cherry on top of my dining experience at Patina. There was not a dish below superb or wine pairing I did not enjoy with it.
Cannot wait to be able to treat myself to a night at Patina again.
