Patara - Soho
Need to book at 1:15 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Been to this Patara so many times, but this time.....things were slow and our mains were delivered incorrectly! Not what you expect from a restaurant of this reputation - maybe just an off night?
Had the banquet menu. Good sel cation of dishes, all very nice. Would recommend
Patara was a surprise. We booked it for convenience to the theatre, but also the reviews which I can wholeheartedly confirm were correct.
The ambiance was relaxed, the staff attentive. The food was delicious. We had the duck spring roles for starters and the lamb massaman and green Thai chicken curry, both of which were perfect. We couldn’t manage a dessert??? Well okay, shared the cheesecake!! It was a lovely pre theatre treat and we will definitely return.
Service a bit confused. Food was good but nothing amazing. It is expensive but it is in the middle of SOHO
Perfect service & perfect food. We will be back !
Fabulous restaurant lovely decor very helpful staff. Food was superb, very well presented and very tasty. Only down side was the padded seat was very uncomfortable and dipped drastically so I had to change with my partner as I’d either have to sit on edge or be too far back from the table 😳
Seating and food were excellent. I found the atmosphere in the restaurant to be nice and chilled. The service was good and food presented in a very timely manner. Everything was very good but I gave 4 stars for a couple of reasons, it took a while between receiving the bill and actually paying, a small thing I know. Also, the sticky rice and mango desert wasn’t available on the day due to the mangos being too sour, which is a shame as this is one of my wife’s favorite deserts.
Once again food was beyond good
Great food served in a very relaxed, attractive and spacious atmosphere. The staff could not be more helpful and kind.
Had a lovely meal with my girlfriend for New Years. We arrived early but was greeted by very friendly staff. The waiting area was comfortable and we were reassured that our table would be ready soon. Once we sat down the staff took our drink orders quickly and remained patient while my girlfriend and I searched the menu. Food arrived in good time and tasted phenomenal. Overall, a really nice evening!
Highly recommended. As our theater show finished earlier than expected we turned up an hour early for our reservation on New Years Eve and the staff could not have been any more accommodating and fitted us in within ten minutes and even apologised for keeping us waiting !
Great selection of food and drink and all very reasonably priced for the location. Highly recommend the Spiced Fish Cake and Chicken and Prawn Satay starters - absolutely delicious!
For our main courses we had the Prawn Pineapple Curry and Chicken Panang Curry with Jasmine Rice. Again both were delicious with very large portion sizes and just the right amount of heat.
Not much room left for dessert but I managed to squeeze in a scoop of the Lime and Lemongrass Sorbet which was a nice refreshing way to finish the meal.
I was driving but my wife also recommends the Champagne Mojito Cocktail !
All the staff were friendly and just attentive enough which is how I like the service to be - we will definitely be returning.
We book a table at Patara Soho every time we are staying in London. We ate there more than a dozen times. However, we have not been so lucky this time as it was the case in the past. We got a table downstair even though the table has been booked far in advance. The atmosphere and layout downstair is not very nice compared to the ground floor. It was 8pm and the toilets were disgusting. I have never seen that. The male toilet was plugged with "everything" at the surface. Difficult to eat the meal after such a "picture". My daughter had tap water. They never came back to refill the glass. After less than one hour we were already out: no pleasure to stay there.
It was perfect dine out with sumptuous food . Fully enjoyed . Bit expensive but worth the price
Refined Thai food with excellent service. Opt for the menus if you can as the A La Carte prices are a little on the high side.
Amazing food, service, and experience. My family and I visited Patara after spending the day in London for Christmas and all 8 of us enjoyed our food. We ordered some drinks, starters and had some curries and pad thai's for main. Would recommend highly!
Our booking had not been sent to the restaurant by OpenTable. We were not on their listing.
A starter was missing from our order and one of the main courses was delivered cold.
I have dinned at Patara Soho and Mafair for over around 14 years.
I take clients their often.
I was with my Family and a friend on Monday the 23rd.
Most of the food was cold, and when I told the waitress she told me it was because we had ordered several starters..??????
My Daughters dumpling starter was rock hard, burnt on the inside and cold..?
2 of our main courses where also clod other just warm.
A real shame as I always say how good Patara is, but was let down on Monday.
Several dishes were removed form the bill, but this was not the reason for the visit.
The purpose was for food of the standard I am used to, and at least to be hot.
A real shame , I have ticked the yes above only because I believe this was a one off bad day.
The food was good but very pricey for what you get.
Amazing food, great service will definitely re visit
Very good thai food in the heart of Soho. Nice ambience.
Lovely food and fair price, can be great for couples and also able to seat groups. Surprised my partner with a birthday cake which came with singing. Overall a lovely experience. Ideal location if you want somewhere nice to eat before heading to one of the many theatres in the area
For a supposedly high end Thai restaurant Ithe standard of food was way below what we would expect the veg spring rolls were over cooked and the pad thai was so bland I would go as far as saying it was the worst thai I have eaten
Nice place, was very quiet when I visited with a friend. There was a member of staff who greeted everyone coming in and another member who was taking orders, pouring drinks, delivering bills to tables and running around. We were the first customers of lunchtime service, arriving at 12 noon. There was no beef. We were given a dessert menu, then no one came back for 15 minutes so we decided to leave. Finally, the harrassed looking waiter arrived with the bill once he saw we had our coats on. To be fair, the quality of the food was good, and the restaurant was very pleasant. I would recommend, but with reservations.
Fab food and lovely place!
Enjoyed our experience but thought that food was overpriced and the restaurant especially toilets in poor condition .
service was good
The restaurant and food are lovely and the service is good. Only minor criticism is that they served me shrimp in what was supposed to be a vegetarian version of a dish. But they resolved it quickly and didn’t charge me. Minor tweaks to the food would make it easier to eat (whole lemongrass in soup is pointless for example, pineapple tofu and veg curry had too much pineapple and hardly anything else) but overall the food was really tasty. We will be returning.
Food was quite pricey, prawn needed abit more flavour, everything else including the ambience was 1st class and worth its value. I really wanted the lobster tail to be on the main menu
We had a nice table after I suggested that the table we were given wasn’t great. But the waitress was quick to check and agree. The service was pretty fine throughout, although were given the bill without asking. Clearly they wanted the table back but I don’t blame them for that as we’d been there for more than two hours. However, I didn’t find the food great. The fish cakes were greasy and tough and the beef signature dish I had was tasteless. It was like beef from a stew without the sauce. Quite chewy to say the least. The wine was nice but expensive. I know it’s Soho but there’s better value options not that far away.
Food was good. Staff weren’t that attentive. A bit overpriced. Noisy atmosphere with no background music.
The food was exceptional, and the service was amazing - we had an incredibly polite and professional waiter who was very sweet and attentive. Really lovely meal.
Dinner on a Friday evening. Excellent food and excellent service. A little noisy at times but tables were arranged in such a way that conversations could not be heard.
Lovely place with great service and delicious food.
I was very impressed by the quality of food, presentation and service. The staff were very accommodating and I would definitely go back. The only thing I was disappointed is that the a la cart menu at weekends is different and more expensive, someone keep it in mind.
Great little restaurant nestled in the heart of soho with wonderful ambiance and very tasty food.
Completle overpriced and really bad service !
I went there with my girlfriend for her birthdaydinner.
Our table was just risiculous (in spite of reservation with cause), more a side table in the middle of a pathway, where Otter People heading towars their Tables and the employees ran by every second. We asked for another one but there was no free one...
On top of that the serviceemployees were awful... Clumsy, coarse and just dont think of what they do... you really notice that performance at Ptara Is Not demanded
Usually giving tips is a matter of good manners for me but in this restaurant I really didnt wanted to BUT service fee Is allredy included to your bill with about 12%! In this case its just profiteering!
The Taste of the Food Is Nothing Special, especially in Relation to the Price.... Not to say overpriced...
So all in all, ruined Birthday Dinner, a lot of money wasted, thanks Ptara ... never again.. sorry not sorry...
We had a set menu which was excellent and good value. Friendly staff
