Pasture was comfortable and the food was outstanding! The setting and lighting are not as cozy as some for dinner but the food is so good it doesn’t really matter! From appetizers to desserts, everything was delicious!!!

The four of us met for dinner before going to see "Rain" at the Carpenter Center. We started with the fried dill pickle appetizer, which was really crisp and good. Three of us had the burger/fries and washed it down with Buskey cider. One opted for a vegetable combo with Brussels sprouts, which she said was delicious. We split two desserts - I highly recommend the winter creme brulee. We sat in the front table by the window, which was a little distracting. The noise level was high, so it is not a place for a romantic dinner. But it is very convenient to parking and the Center, and the food was great.

The food was beyond phenominal. One of the best steaks I have had. The ambiance was less than desirable and having a private conversation was almost impossible given the proximity of other tables. Pretty expensive place, but the food was on point

It was late winter so the food was a little bland. I was surprised the fish dish was not more local and s seasonal.

Pasture is one of our favorite's in the City. Rarely are there any problems. The food is fresh, innovative and everything is hand-crafted. Glad to see the Candy Bar dessert is back. You had lost us for a while because it is my wife's favorite dessert in the city. Thanks for all the hard work to keep up consistent standards.

Pasture continues to deliver a good meal and good service time after time. The variety of small plates is wonderful. We had the brussell sprouts and they were some of the best we've had anywhere in Richmond. The curry butternut squash soup was delightful. Can't wait to go back for another good meal

The butternut squash soup was excellent. So were the ribs. The red beans were also well done. My son loves the chicken and dumplings and by the smell I was ready to eat it as well

The Candy Bar is BACK! My wife's favorite dessert in the city. We had a wonderful time meeting friends before the Symphony. The service was attentive and the food came at a moderate pace. Every time we dine at Pasture it is a treat for us. Thank you for having us back.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal. The restaurant is casual and no-frills from a decor perspective. The food and staff are the draw for sure. We stuck to the small plates but the entrees looked great. The cornbread sticks were perhaps the tastiest thing I've eaten in years. You just got to try them! The Brussels sprouts and squash dish was also a hit. My wife's favorite was the Pimento cheese appetizer. We finished with the Creme Brule with grapefruit sections which was great.

Overall, great food, uniquely prepared fresh locally-sourced foods and friendly servers. I highly recommend Pasture!

The snacks were the highlight of the meal. The pork rinds were crisp and light and the chips and collard green dip was a nice twist. There are a lot of good ideas on the menu but the execution isn't polished. i.e. The kale and romaine salad with tomato, carrot and blue cheese seemed like it came out of a bag from the supermarket. The ingredients weren't integrated into the salad. The chicken and dumplings entree was an elevated version of a comforting dish. But the roasted turnip and apple side dish was swimming in apple cider and the flavors didn't marry.

Pature's homemade dessert was what brought us here for dinner and the meal was good but the homemade "candy bar" was the star of the evening.

Everything was perfect to only reason I dinged it slightly is I had the pork chop and asked for it cooked med well - it was medium at best. That kind of freaks me out with pork. My husband had the chicken and dumplings and loved it! Our appetizers were great. The server was good. I would def recommend.

Overall, we really loved going to Pasture to celebrate New Year's Eve. We ordered the pimento cheese, meatballs, and frito pie as appetizers and they were all delicious! My husband ordered the steak which we all agreed was the best meal of the night. The pork chops were also tasty. My only criticism would be that the sweet potato puree was overpowered by a floral flavor, so the sweet potato didn't really come through. Drinks were fun and service was great! Thanks for an awesome meal!

We love to get a variety of small plates- each one is better than the next. Highlights were ribs, red beans with rice, kale salad. Sadly, they were out of chicken livers, so we didn't get to try them. Next time!

Disappointed that the beef tar tar was taken off the menu. Stayed in Richmond from VB just for that dish! Please put it back on the menu!!! We had the new version of it, it was good, but not what we wanted. Thank you. We are fans though.

We had a delicious meal. When we last went, we were with festive group of people in their early 30's. This was just a quiet dinner for us older folks, but equally enjoyable. The choices of small plates make it fun for me. My husband likes entrees. Win win.

Pasture's chef is a native of our SWVA county, and we couldn't be more proud of the incredibly hip, diverse, and accessible spot he's created in RVA. Delicious bites, inventive cocktails, and a fantastic atmosphere with a touch of down-home comfort. Open kitchen means everyone's available to see and to ask and to tell what's what. Go early and go often!

I wife and I, my daughter and son-in-law and my son and daughter-in-law I went to Pasture before a Nutcracker performance. When I take people to Pasture the first time, they usually are not sure what to make of it. It’s a fairly limited menu, and some of the items seem a little different. Nonetheless, people usually are very happy with what they get. This trip was no different. I got the Porkchop which was very good. Two got the chicken and dumplings, which I chalked up to the fact that they were not sure about the other items. They too enjoyed theirs. My adventurous son got the duck breast and spoke highly of it.

All in all, a very good time.

This was our first trip to Pasture and it definitely won’t be our last. Our group was in town just for the night and I can’t say enough good things. The staff was excellent, the food was to die for, the drinks were delicious and creative, and the atmosphere was casual and fun. I highly recommend this place!

We dine at Pasture frequently. The food and service are always great. They have an extensive craft beer selection and a menu that will please almost anyone. On this visit we enjoyed the pimento cheese (always a favorite), the brisket BBQ sandwich and burgers. Delicious all around.

Pasture is located on an evolving section of Grace Street and is convenient to a number of performance venues, making it the perfect spot for pre- or post-event food and drink. Always a good bet.

Had a chance to dine at Pasture and had previously dined here a year or more ago. We were surprised to see the restaurant nearly empty and it seems the novelty and quality may be falling off with so many other great restaurants having opened in the area. Service was great and the restaurant was generally clean (minor greasy spot on the tile floor under the table). Food quality was off a little with the duck having been heavily salted. Chicken and potato gnocchi was very good. Surprised there were not more choices on the menu. Would definitely go back but would look at other options first.

Delicious modern take on southern cooking. The dishes managed to be comfort foot and innovative at the same time. Our server was great - very attentive. Decor is quirky industrial - which is fun although not overly comfy. Overall a great experience - we would go back!

Had dinner here before TSO concert at the Coliseum. Server did a great job of ensuring we received our meals and drinks quickly. Very attentive throughout. My wife and I are eating a plant based diet. There were several options to accommodate but at least two of the plates were 1 Star - cornbread and corn hot cakes. In both cases we took a couple bites and bailed. So bland and the hot cakes seemed like hard tack from the Civil War. The veggies surrounding it were equally tasteless. All the meat eaters raves about their meals...so a mixed bag.
