Pasture Ratings and Reviews
Had a chance to dine at Pasture and had previously dined here a year or more ago. We were surprised to see the restaurant nearly empty and it seems the novelty and quality may be falling off with so many other great restaurants having opened in the area. Service was great and the restaurant was generally clean (minor greasy spot on the tile floor under the table). Food quality was off a little with the duck having been heavily salted. Chicken and potato gnocchi was very good. Surprised there were not more choices on the menu. Would definitely go back but would look at other options first.
Delicious modern take on southern cooking. The dishes managed to be comfort foot and innovative at the same time. Our server was great - very attentive. Decor is quirky industrial - which is fun although not overly comfy. Overall a great experience - we would go back!
Had dinner here before TSO concert at the Coliseum. Server did a great job of ensuring we received our meals and drinks quickly. Very attentive throughout. My wife and I are eating a plant based diet. There were several options to accommodate but at least two of the plates were 1 Star - cornbread and corn hot cakes. In both cases we took a couple bites and bailed. So bland and the hot cakes seemed like hard tack from the Civil War. The veggies surrounding it were equally tasteless. All the meat eaters raves about their meals...so a mixed bag.
We had high hopes for our meal at Pasture. Unfortunately, it was just average. The highlights included the crackers and pimento cheese and pork rinds. The remainder of the dishes were adequate but did not stand out. This includes the chicken and dumplings that were under seasoned. The cocktails were nothing too spectular either. If you are looking for southern / comfort food in Richmost, then keep searching.
I booked Pasture on a whim for a Saturday dinner for our trip to Richmond and we were not disappointed! Our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and really seemed to enjoy his job and giving recommendations, which I always really appreciate! Overall great, warm, friendly vibe and amazing food. I ended up with the chicken and dumplings and green beans (which were SO GOOD) and my boyfriend got the steak. Both delicious, highly recommend!
We went to Pasture to celebrate my husband's birthday. I made a special request for my husband to be embarrassed if possible ;) The staff provided him with a free shot and a pumpkin! We enjoyed the food, even if it was rather over-priced. All the staff was welcoming except our waiter who gave a pretentious impression, and did not wish my husband a happy birthday. Will we return to Pasture? Maybe. But to be honest, we enjoy restaurants where everyone is welcome-not just well-to-do hipsters.
Pasture never disappoints. The servers are top-notch - very professional and very friendly. The food is always delicious, and the menu always has something new and exciting on it. The cocktails are a little pricey, but always worth the money (bartender Beth rocks!). John is the host with the most.
My friend and I came from Williamsburg for an event at the Dominion Arts Theater. I googled good restaurants nearby and Pasture for the most part had good reviews. I ordered the burger and my friend got the chicken and dumplings. Her dish was far superior than my burger. My burger was only luke warm. Hopefully next time will be a better experience.
This was our second visit to Pasture. My wife raved about the brussels sprout and butternut squash dish after our first visit last Fall. Fortunately, that item had just returned to the menu for this season, so all was well. My wife had the pork chop and I had the bistro steak--both were excellent. We've dined at several restaurants when visiting Richmond and Pasture continues to be our favorite.
