Great food and craft cocktails with attentive service. A must for a good dining experience in Richmond.
I came here before prom and the overall experience was excellent! They were very accommodating when I placed my reservation and seated my date and I right away. The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal!
Food took a long time to come. Had a burger which was nothing special, only offered one desert for lunch and it was ok, but again not exciting. Service was friendly.
Great selection of brews, outstanding southern cuisine and great service - what else is needed- only being able to share it with 8 friends and they accommodated without missing a beat- definitely a must try !!
Very pleasant atmosphere, great service...Good menu selections! Will definitely be returning to enjoy a meal on the patio!
Awesome! Awesome!
We were early for our reservation & they were able to seat us. Our server, John, was very personable & made sure we had everything that we needed. The food delivery time was on point. We enjoyed a wonderful family dinner & the food was exceptional as usual.
Found this restaurant on Open Table, and it is also part of United MileagePlus Dining. Visited Richmond for the Virginia All-State Band Concert, and found this restaurant. Prices were fair, the dishes (Hamburger, BBQ Brisket, and Braised Lamb) all tasted good and arrived quickly, and fresh. Service was good -- timely, present, but not cloying or over the top. A nice place for a casual meal.
We had a wonderful lunch @ Pasture! Service was great! Drinks were fabulous and the Pimento Cheese Appetizer was awesome! Best Pimento Cheese that I’ve ever had!
Great food and atmosphere
Menu has codes identifying diet-specific needs like vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. Also, notes the ABV of all beer and emphasizes local food and beverages. Server was a delight and very well trained.
Hey guys! This was my third time to Pasture and each experience was fantastic. Come hungry! No matter what you’re in the mood for Pasture has you covered. If you’re looking for great comfort food served with a modern twist, I recommend the fried chicken livers, the cures pork ribs or the pimento cheese dish. All were amazing. If your leaning towards something on the modern southern side I strongly recommend the Red Snapper. The pickled fennel makes it really pop! I also recommend the Pork Chop with Southern Grits...UNREAL!

Excellent, friendly service by knowledgeable waitress. Great food choices. Fun to share
with friends.
Unfortunatley, too noisy for us older people with poor hearing.
My salad was delicious, but found a piece of cardboard in it. They happily replaced the salad, but came back with way too much Kale.
Pasture is always friendly and welcoming! We always feel like they are truly happy to see us. Started with pimento cheese as usual and it was great. We shared some small plates and had cookies for dessert. Everything was fresh and delicious. Pasture is our favorite place in Richmond.
Delicious and fast and healthy(ish) and a wonderful experience. Thanks to all!
Great bartender!! Good food.. Fun
We had a great dinner out celebrating my husband's birthday (with our 6 yr old daughter). The kitchen was out of PB and honey on their darling kid's menu, but she LOVED her chicken and fries and our server let her pick a complementary dessert to make amends! We enjoyed the inviting atmosphere and simple decor. Great options for veggie small plates. pimento cheese was yummy!
A friend and I ate there for dinner and chose to go the Small Plates and Appetizers route. The pimento cheese, winter meatballs, and fried pickles were excellent. The ribs and red beans and rice were average good while the frito pie disappointed. The chili had a burnt taste to it and the onions and cheese were sparse. The roasted brussel sprouts were a little too undercooked for our taste but had good flavor. I would classify the decor as minimalist which is fine by me but may not be for others. Service was great, very pleasant and helpful.
The ambiance and service was excellent; however, food was not good for the price. Pan seared fish was nicely cooked, but lacked any flavor. For the oatmeal cookie dessert, cookies were over baked and hard as rocks.
I love the idea of snacks/small plates that Pasture offers. It’s easy to get a bunch and share with the table. The pimento cheese is probably the best I’ve ever had, and I probably could’ve eaten about 3 orders of the cornbread sticks. For my entree I got the sweet corn hoe cake and it was a mound of deliciously seasoned vegetables on top of savory pancakes. Definitely recommend. Our server was awesome. He was super attentive and knew the answers to all of our questions and didn’t make my friends and I feel rushed. I wish I could remember his name so he could get proper recognition. My friends all loved their entrees as well. The ambiance was calm and modern and very comfortable. I will definitely be returning soon.
My wife got the Bistro Steak which she described as exceptional...I got the chicken dumplings which were good but nothing to write home about. And yes....what would you expect but I did want to try something different. Should have gone for the duck.
I always have a great time at pasture, I love their modern take on southern food. My wife and I split two snacks and 2 small plates and were beyond stuffed.
We are HUGE Pasture fans--I've consistently raved about it and it will remain one of our favorites, but tonight was a failure. My wife's chicken and dumplings was a mess--only a small amount of chicken, only a couple of dumplings and mostly--well other stuff. When we inquired, our service said he would "check" and my wife picked it over. After I was done with my burger, a bowl of shredded chicken arrived without being asked for. It was a waste, as the meal was over by that point. To add insult to injury, they were out (at 6:15 p.m.) of the signature dessert--which is a big reason we come. Un-requested chocolate chip cookies, overstuffed with whipped cream arrived as a free gift, but it was a big fail. Paying $23 for the chicken and dumplings was an insult when she left probably 90% of the original plus 95% of the bowl that had arrived unannounced--that was terrible to charge us for inedible stuff. Maybe I should have caused a scene, but I wanted to enjoy the Symphony down the street. We'll be back--it's too good a place, but the chicken and dumplings should have been comped and someone should have said "I'm sorry." And the manager having a good time in the rear corner at a table with other staff should have come over. Don't make your regulars feel like they are a pain.
Visited Pasture for the first time and was quite impressed by the level of attention we are given by the wait staff. It was a business lunch on a tight schedule but the staff managed all the plates well. Great food - the Salted duck melt was rich, filling and priced very well! I will be taking more clients out to lunch there!
The food was fantastic! The pimento cheese was especially delicious. The decor was stark. All of the chairs were wood, no cushions. They reminded me of old school chairs. Since it's downtown, free parking is limited. Pasture does have a few reserved spaces in a lot directly behind the restaurant.
The food and atmosphere were great as usual. We all had a good time and will be back.
Interesting minimalist venue with fantastic service (our waiter had the balance of attentive without being annoying down to a science). Food was good but menu is VERY limited. We both struggled to find an entree we would like. Ended up ordering 1 entree to split and both getting
salads to round out the meal. We are adventurous eaters/foodies so not a matter of us being picky but more due to unappetizing combinations and limited options. They do support local farms which is always great to see. Tables are really tight together so not the place for a quiet or intimate evening. Nice location - walking distance from convenient parking and to the show we were attending afterwards. In the future, I would consider this an option for Happy Hour but not for a meal.
The service was great and the food was better. the overall atmosphere was open and inviting. The drinks were great but most people importantly the food was delicious.
Pasture was comfortable and the food was outstanding! The setting and lighting are not as cozy as some for dinner but the food is so good it doesn’t really matter! From appetizers to desserts, everything was delicious!!!
The four of us met for dinner before going to see "Rain" at the Carpenter Center. We started with the fried dill pickle appetizer, which was really crisp and good. Three of us had the burger/fries and washed it down with Buskey cider. One opted for a vegetable combo with Brussels sprouts, which she said was delicious. We split two desserts - I highly recommend the winter creme brulee. We sat in the front table by the window, which was a little distracting. The noise level was high, so it is not a place for a romantic dinner. But it is very convenient to parking and the Center, and the food was great.
The food was beyond phenominal. One of the best steaks I have had. The ambiance was less than desirable and having a private conversation was almost impossible given the proximity of other tables. Pretty expensive place, but the food was on point
Valentines
Valentines Day. Lots of fun. Love the smoked bourbon 🥃
It was late winter so the food was a little bland. I was surprised the fish dish was not more local and s seasonal.
Valentines dinner and ballet show down the street
Pasture is one of our favorite's in the City. Rarely are there any problems. The food is fresh, innovative and everything is hand-crafted. Glad to see the Candy Bar dessert is back. You had lost us for a while because it is my wife's favorite dessert in the city. Thanks for all the hard work to keep up consistent standards.
Always enjoyable and friendly. We go there often before RCS.
The service was excellent as was the food. We enjoyed the dining experience and we will be back!
Pasture continues to deliver a good meal and good service time after time. The variety of small plates is wonderful. We had the brussell sprouts and they were some of the best we've had anywhere in Richmond. The curry butternut squash soup was delightful. Can't wait to go back for another good meal
