We simply confirmed that all of the high reviews for Passionfish were accurate. Loved the ambience in the high ceiling areas. Absolutely wonderful crispy whole big founder; far better than any flounder I've ever had. They chose two excellent oysters that were perfectly fresh; just dipped the brine slightly on a couple of them. Excellent mac and cheese with fish. For a fun dish, we shared red thai lobster curry. Very fine and creative cocktails; a spicy tequila mix and a mojito that one of our friends swore was the best ever. All was supported by a knowledgeable waiter who had the smarts to get the kids fed before anyone else. Yes. This is the g-to place for a special dinner in the Reston area.

overall food was good as usual but one meal--the halibut--seemed to have been frozen... the fish was not flaky as usual, it was mealy.

Excellent service by a very friendly, attentive waiter rounded out a great dinner.
Cocktails were well crafted and dinner entrees delicious. We ordered the crab cakes which Passion Fish does so well , sea bass and scallops with oysters to start.
Each dish was generous, but not huge and very morish. Equally, the sides were not an after thought to the entree, but complimented the meal.

The food, we had rockfish and scallops as our entrees and I had the corn and crab soup as an appetizer, were all exceptional. My husband's salad appetizer had way too much dressing - ask for it on the side. Service was impeccable and our waiter - wish I remembered his name - was one of the best ever.

Dinner with a friend that was in town for business. Started at the bar; great happy hour prices. Very good dinner; service was a bit slow for a Tuesday night. Remains a great place to go for "higher end" dinners.

My husband took me to Passionfish for my birthday celebration dinner and the food was excellent! We ordered a sushi appetizer and it was very fresh and delicious. I had the pan seared scallops, which I would order again. My husband had the gumbo, which was good, but he would order something different next time. Love the restaurant décor and atmosphere.

We have been dining at Passion Fish for several years. However on the last few visits including the most recent I've found that the food is not as memorable as in the past. I had the special on Friday which was Dover Sole with shaved truffle. The Dover Sole was dry and flavorless; the only way to do it justice is to saute it quickly in butter. For a $40 entree I was very disappointed. Also it seemed that the AC was on and the vent was right above our table so as soon as our main course was served it was cold from the cold air. We did mention the cold air to our server and he said he'd turn the heat on . . .

I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon.

Hostess was terrible, ruined the entire dining experience.

We had a reservation for 5:30, everyone was there by 5:20 and they would not seat us with an empty dining room. I had to remind them at 5:30 to seat us. Bar area was jam packed and our party is standing in lobby with tons of people try to navigate through the lobby.

Please hire employees that can exercise common sense.

Passionfish is one of our favorite restaurants in Reston. Supringly, they have one of the best steaks in town. Seafood is great. And as usual the service was spot on

I cannot say enough about Gerard, our waiter... hope I spelled his name correctly. His quiet professional manner...good eye contact, knowledge of the menu, spacing of time he came and went to the table so we could talk and have our food in a relaxed manner ( and could appreciate both). He remembered names, offered dessert in a friendly non judgemental manner. He covered an embarrassing spill on the white cloth with a dish so that we hardly noticed.
I come to PF often but this was certainly one of my better experiences.
Only drawback, our table misunderstood in request (didn't get booth #11 or #20 but table on opposite side of room which was quite chilly, necessitating the women pulling our coats around our shoulders.)

The food we ordered was delicious. I got the special for the day which was halibut and it was perfect. My husband was surprised to only get two crab cakes for his entree but with the soup and salad he ordered he was really full in the end. The food was really tasteful. I was just not impressed with the bread they brought out. The first time I was there they brought out crispy bread, this time it was about 3 mini buns. With that they bring a white fish spread which I didn't like but my husband did.

The price tag is a bit steep for what you're getting. I wouldn't have felt that way if the waiter was nicer. He was a bit pushy for me to order an appetizer or soup/salad but I wasn't that hungry. He also wasn't very friendly.

Outstanding food and service. We went to celebrate a birthday and they make it special with a personalized menu that says "Happy Birthday [name]" and a birthday dessert topped with a candle -- on the house. Whether it's a birthday or not, this is an exceptional restaurant.

The restaurant can be quite noisy, but there's a quieter table at the corner of the upper level that is great for a meal for two. It's called Table 90.

We have been to Passion Fish many times over the past several years and our most recent dining experience was simply not good. The quality of the service has gone down. Although our waiter was friendly and there was plenty of staff, many of them seemed to be doing nothing. Our water glasses were not filled except when we asked for someone to do it. Our salad and appetizer plates were not cleared. Our dinner plates were cleared late. The support staff to the waiters seemed to be disorganized and lacked direction. The restaurant also seemed to have changed its music that is played during dinner, which in itself is not bad but the music that they played before was better.

Additionally, the food was also hit or miss. The bronzino was good as always but the brussel sprouts were burned, the scallops were overcooked, and the salmon was tough and overcooked and did not taste good.

Every other time that we have previously went to Passion Fish the restaurant was crowded, this was the first time that it was not really full. We will likely go back, but considering the prices that Passion Fish charges and the reduction in quality of service and food, we will only try once more.

We picked this restaurant to meet friends for dinner because they had been to another Passionfish location and loved it. The service at the Reston location was outstanding! But the food was just ok. I had the swordfish special - it was dry and bland. Not sure I will be rushing back.

I've been going here for many years and have never had a bad experience. It's is unique to Reston Town Center in that they are "high end" but not overly so. They just want you to feel like your dinner is special which it usually is. Not pretentious like a high end steak house - just special.
