The waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful; she recommended several dishes which we really liked. I had the whole crispy flounder which was excellent; crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The trout and the lemon fish the other guests had were also excellent.
The Rose from France she recommended was also very good with the fish.

We always enjoy PassionFish. The food is consistently good and appetizers change often and are very creative and fresh.

Sea spider roll with soft shell crab was a tasty, credible rendition. Chowder really good, and ditto for that standby, beet and goat cheese salad, Vietnamese lobster spring roll light and lovely. The signature lobster baked in a pot with Thai red chilli sounded like it couldn't possibly work - how could the chili not overpower the lobster? But we tried it and it was creative and very good - each flavor standing distinctly on its own, with enough chili heat to add zing (and pineapple to add tart). Nothing sensation, but everything done very well. We'll be back.

Never a bad meal at Passion Fish. This was the fifth or sixth time that I have gone there for either lunch or dinner, with no negative results yet. I had tilapia over a bed of collard greens that was to die for! I'll keep going back!

My boyfriend and I went to celebrate his birthday. The food was fantastic (Kamikaze Roll, Spicy Ahi Tuna Tartare, the Red Thai Curry Lobster “Claypot,” and the Mahi-Mahi), the service great--the server very friendly and speedy.

I can't truly comment on the noise level as we sat outside, which was very pleasant.

It's not you're every-night dinner spot as it's not inexpensive, but it's just right for a special occasion! I appreciated the little touches, too. I let the restaurant know ahead of time that we were celebrating a birthday and they printed a special menu with "Happy Birthday" at the top, which was returned to us to take home.

Thanks to everyone at Passion Fish for the great experience!

One of the finest, if not the finest, seafood restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of dining at! The service is the best I have seen or experienced. All food items brought to the table at once and same with clearing of dishes! This is the way it is supposed to be done!

Our second experience at Passionfish was unfortunately not up to par as the first. We found that the menu wasn't quite as extensive as we would have liked and that in the end, what we had ordered the first time (the lobster claypot and the Fisherman's wharf) were the best items on the menu. We wanted to try something else and it did not work out as well. The next time we'll have to revert.

Service left much to be desired and many dishes were 'sold out' but the sushi alone is worth the trip!

Passionfish has become our favorite place to eat. The food is great and the service is wonderful. Be sure to try the lump crabmeat cocktail with lime sauce on the side (I couldn't find it on the sample menu at their website)... simple, but delicious. My wife likes the halibut entree so much that she gets it every time. The last time we went, it wasn't cooked enough for her so she sent it back. They came back with a whole new serving, apologized sincerely two or three times, and comped us both desserts and coffee... oustanding service, to the point where she was embarrassed by all the attention. I had the Brazilian Tiger Fish... something new for me, and a special entree that night. It was fun trying something really different.

Usually you get what you pay for, but not in this case. The food was very expensive, but did not live up to the price. One of the meals was highly salted (a way to mask poorer quality) while another meal was overly bland and boring. Drinks were mostly ice. A chocolate desert was very tasteful, but a peach desert was not flavorful at all. The espresso was good.

I enjoyed the decor, and the server did a nice job.

I would return if a friend insisted on going, but generally speaking, it's too expensive for what you get, so, therefore, I could not recommend the place, nor would I return on my own.

Absolutely passionate about Passion Fish. Relaxed but elegant. Service, waiter recommendations and knowledge, food, wine, presentation, all outstanding. Multiple visits have been all the same. Large portion of clams casino appetizer presented in an iron skillet like dish, instead of clam shells, is perfect for 2-3 people and delicious.

The food was excellent, we were able to dine at our usual leisurely pace and we plan to return soon. Just avoid table 34 or you'll be blinded by the headlights of cars leaving the parking lot across the street.

Great seafood spot right in the middle of Reston with all the burger bars and chain restaurants. Looking for something more classy than Uno's and more ambiance than the local tex-mex joint? Something with a little ambiance and charm? Look no further. Never had a bad meal here. Recommend the oysters and for an entree, the Tower of Crab.

There were four of us meeting for lunch, two couples. It was our first time to PF. We loved the light, airy rooms. The service was unbelievable! The server went out of his way to make our first visit very special. The food was outstanding, just foodie enough but not ridiculous. Just delicious and beautiful. Wonderful extras, even the silverware. Thanks for a delightful experience in every way.

Outstanding waiter. The wine seems a little overpriced, however, he guided us to a wonderful bottle in our price range and we had a great dinner. He was attentive, yet not overbearing. The best service we've had in a very long time. The food was terrific too.

PassionFish is, as the name would suggest, focused on seafood. They do everything with a little Asian flair (sauces, preparation, etc.). The ambiance is very modern and fun and the location (in Reston) is quite convenient--in the Town Center.

However, the food is just OK. Nothing wrong with it but nothing to write home about either. Maybe if I was more of an Asian food fan I'd be more excited. But the agreement around our table was that there are others who provide much tastier seafood. Try it for yourself!

This is a very satisfying seafood restaurant in an area where good seafood is hard to come by. I like that they stick to their theme, with fish tails on their forks and knives and a whitefish spread in place of butter. They really offer a range of seafood dishes, and most are spot on. The spicy tuna roll wasn't as imaginative as I would have hoped from a place like this, but the flavors of the entrees were pretty much right on.

We were disappointed - the "bottom line" is that we will not return. Three things. First, the server (and those who constantly bussed the table) were best described as efficient. No real interaction, not even a smile and friendly interaction - just moving us along - we felt that there was a clear goal of flipping that table - the sooner the better. Second, the air blower from the ceiling was cold and unrelenting - where is the thermostat - in the kitchen where it is hot? The evening outside was pleasant and the restaurant was cold. Third, while the food was good, it is pricey and not quite worth it - $6.00 sides one of which was about seven skinny stalks of grilled asparagus -even looked odd on the separate plate! Better choices elsewhere!

It's always a pleasure when a restaurant owner just "get's it!" Phenomonal food, great atmosphere, and servers who are friendly and knowledgeable. On top of that, they are actually wonderful with kids... If you like seafood, this is a must visit restaurant!

There is a downstairs and an upstairs dining room. The 40 and 50 year olds were relegated to the upstairs (I guess we old folks weren't cool enough to be downstairs). Although that certainly didn't work since none of us could read the small print menu in the dark room. We, as well as, the four other couples that were seated after us, all were switching tables and running over to the window to read the menu. We thought that the place as a whole was overrated. The sushi/sashmi was especially good, but the entrees were bland and uninspired. Our young male server was very good and atentative, but we won't be back to this restaurant. We should have tried Jackson's Mighty Fine Food. That place was poppin.

We had a fantastic waitress at PassionFish. We were a party of 8 people and had 3 birthdays represented at our table...mine that day and two others a couple days in between. I was very disappointed in the amount of lobster in the $35 dollar signature dish of curried lobster. My dish had far more canned pineapple chunks than lobster. Another person at the table had the same dish and their dish had an adequate amount of lobster, therefore, the lobster content of this dish is very inconsistent per person. Quality control is definitely missing. The most generous serving of food at the table was the sweet potato fries. I won't rush back to this restaurant.

PassionFish was a great experience. The service was very professional and the food was excellent. We sat outside, 10pm on a Friday night, it was quiet with a little street traffic. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the outdoor seating area is comfortable. The service was prompt and professional. We ordered the Lobster Claypot and the Fisherman's Wharf. Both were delicious and the seafood was fresh (the claypot is something to try - lobster and pineapple mix well!). For dessert the donut holes put hot krispie kreams to shame and the cappuccino was top notch. Not cheap, but worth the money.

We rarely get out to eat due to kids but the next time will probably be PassionFish.

I took my husband here for his birthday. The ambience was nice, low-lit, but noisy, albeit on the upper level the decibles drop significantly. I would recommend requesting a seat upstairs or outside, but request this in advance as the seating is limited and usually fills up quickly. The food was solid, and good, but amazing. But the seafood was fresh, and this was obvious. This is critical for good seafood. It appeared (as we left) that a lot of people were ordering the sushi... we'll try that next time. Don't waste your calories on the toast w/ spread. We had the clay pot lobster... not fabulous and the lobster was chewy. We'll try it again because of the service and proximity to our house.

It was DC Restaurant Week and they offered a 3-course dinner meal for $35 so I decided to get them a try after reading some good reviews online.

I had Vietnamese shrimp and crab spring rolls and gumbo soup for appetizers. They were both outstanding; I especially like the sauce for the spring rolls and the gumbo soup was even better than the ones I had in New Orleans.

For entree, I had Cioppino: a seafood broth with shrimps, clams, mussels and tuna. It was very good except the broth was a bit salty for my taste.

I highly recommend this restaurant.

For dessert, I had yellow peach crisp with Vanilla bean ice cream. I'm not a dessert person but it was excellent especially the ice cream.
