Nice restaurant but a bit overpriced. Fish was excellent however.
Job well done
We appreciated that they made us a dinner item eventhough it was brunch. But the service we got at the bar was disappointing. The bartender didn't take time to interact with us. She just took our orders for drinks and food while she was doing other things...service tickets, making drinks, etc. The bar only had 8 people sitting there and 2 bartenders. We should have had personal attention. We actually decided to only have our apps and went next door for our entrees.
We have had good interactions here, previously. This one was disappointing, though.
Went for my birthday dinner! Food was fantastic! Excellebt wine list and cocktails
Passion Fish is one of my favorite restaurants. Every time I go there is gets better every time. The menu and wine selections are terrific.
Food quality zero for the price that is way too expensive.
The restaurant was very busy due to a special promotion. Service was nevertheless terrific. While my first choice of entree was unavailable, the trout that I had instead was very nicely prepared.
The food was overall excellent albeit the sauces sometimes overwhelmed ... perfectly cooked scallops and steak (in a
Fish restaurant!). Best of all were the mussels and sauce - tender, served correctly in a hot iron pot and super flavorful - best I’ve had in the dc area although the french b read served with the mussels was bland as were the soggy and not crisp French fries . Wine list is formidable and offers excellent choice.
Horrible experience.....Both fried clams AND my oysters on the half shell were filled with small pieces of shells...had to twice take my glass of water into the bathroom and over and over again wash out my mouth of shell pieces. Waiter merely said "we've had many complaints tonight." When I requested speaking with general manager Eduardo he seemed to care less. Manager Erin offered us complimentary desserts. Big deal. I ate NOTHING and went home hungry. I once thought this was a very good restaurant. I now would not go back and certainly would not recommend it to anyone. Angry!
Really delightful dinner! MD crab cakes were just great-all crab!! And lobster pot was
delicious along with their sides.
Great creme brulee and peach tart!
Great service also!!
Just one of our local go to's for a nicer meal. We love to sit outside and enjoy good food, and good service.
Long time customers. Sat at bar for late dinner
Mussels good and priced appropriately.
Crab cakes - two slider sized balls for $38. You decide.
Indifferent. May we have napkins please? I used to think the fourth wall was part of waiter/bartender training. No so much anymore. Could I please hear more about your personal plans as you chat halfway down the bar from your friends. Oh, and the winking dismissal of my wife when she did not see the item in front of her? Really bad form. I kinda like her.
We are old enough to have deteriorating hearing and find PassionFish more and more difficult to enjoy because the high level of background noise makes conversation difficult.
There are obvious things the owners could do to decrease the noise level, but apparently it is not seen as a priority.
Excellent food (lots of interesting seafood choices) & wine menus. Service was great; food was also exceptionally great. One of our most memorable meals anywhere!
This was our first visit. My wife and I have changed our eating habits so we were looking for a place that would have No Sugar and No Flour options in their preparation. We were having a family and friends celebration (1st time family was home in town in almost a year). Our server, Kenny, was top notch. He was a professional and knew all the details regarding the daily specials, with pricing and specific details the preparation process and the seasonings. I would highly recommend this and will return soon.
Go here upon occasion for dinner, mostly for family get-togethers. Quiet atmosphere, we were probably the loudest ones there! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is delicious. It's a little expensive, but that's to be expected for an upscale seafood place. As per usual, you get what you pay for! Their sweet potato fries are amazing.
very glad crab was from Maryland
This is a fabulous, perfect for business or personal events.
Great venue. We had a business meal for a large group and the experience was excellent. Our server was outstanding and the food was terrific!
Great restaurant, great service, great food, great table...thanks for such a wonderful dinner!
Took friends and family there. It is always my “go to” restaurant for such occasions!
The experience at Passion Fish was superb. This was our 3rd time back and it was true to form. First time sitting downstairs. The waiter was top notch and knew everything about the menu, specials and the wine pairings. Very attentive and had a couple of extra treats for our special occasion. Food was wonderful! We both ordered the signature red curry lobster.
Great dinner with friends, always very enjoyable - never disappoints!
Great food and service.
Another fine dinner. Service was excellent as always.
passion fish is consistently excellent. always. great service, gorgeous food, and seriously it is the ONE RESTAURANT ON THE PLANET WHERE THE MUSIC ISN'T TOO LOUD.
having said that: they should NOT play bad pop and 80s and disco music over their speakers. passion fish is way too classy for that. classical music, jazz, anything but dumb top 40 music. it feels like i'm in a t.g.i.fridays or a bennigans or somewhere where they're trying to get the teenagers to come in.
BETTER MUSIC PASSION FISH - CUZ YOU'RE WORTH IT!
We had a great family meal celebrating our son’s departure for college. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. The menu had something for everyone with nothing but compliments from appetizer through desert. Well done.
Went on Sunday evening at the end of Restaurant Week. Service was terrible but food was tasty.
The food, service, and atmosphere was great. We will definitely be revisiting.
The food at Passion Fish seldom is disappointing, so creating a memorable dining experience falls to staff. We sat for close to 10 minutes before our server came to greet us and offer us water. Our waiter, while not unpleasant, never smiled nor seemed interested in how we were doing throughout the time we ate, which is surprising since Passion Fish is considered a "better" restaurant. Why go back when other restaurants are making an effort to engage clientele so they're enjoying a unique and friendly dining experience? That's not about cost but rather attitude.
Food was great and the service was outstanding. I would recommend this place for a special occasion or a business meal.
Always excellent food. Love the atmosphere. Made a fuss of mom on her 85th birthday.
Great service! Server was friendly, efficient, and appropriately attentive.
Had dinner with my wife during restaurant week. Paid extra to get the crab cake and was happy that I did. Service and food were top notch.
We went here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I didn't love the lobster bisque, but the clam chowder was amazing. I ended up buying 2 of the strawberry lemonade (w/ vodka) despite always ordering just 1 drink. It was that good! Wonderful place, pricey, but great for special occasions.
Special anniversary dinner with my wife -- and Passion Fish has always been a favorite. The menu offerings, the location and atmosphere and the excellent service has always come through.
I’ve been dining st the Passion Food restaurants for several years and have witnessed a am sad to see a noticeable decline in the quality of the dishes, especially at Passion Fish Reston (also Bethesda). The coating of the fried seafood, for example, is heavy and does not enhance the seafood at all.
We had lunch for Restaurant Week. Appetizers (crab/corn soup) and all desserts were very good. Shrimp with grits was heavy on the grits; the grilled shrimp salad was better. Too bad the crabcakes were $10 extra.
Lackluster service despite a quiet lunch hour. Had to ask for bread, water and check. Ceviche was great with a pop of heat spice. Carrot ginger soup was disappointingly bland. Shrimp and grits were mushy. Salad with shrimp was fine.
Food is consistently delicious and happy hour is good. I really appreciate the menu here, especially the extensive HH menu as well as how they do restaurant week. The downside of PF is that the bar scene is lousy. Counter space is very small so people are crammed standing around.
