Excellent seafood restaurant. The chargrilled oysters were the best appetizer we tried and the whole fried flounder was the star entree of the evening.
First time dining at PassionFish in over a year. The food remains very good, but they were having service issues on this visit. My guess is that they haven’t yet been able to build up their waitstaff. On the whole, it was nice to be out, but the 25 minute wait to be acknowledged by a server was tough, and it didn’t really improve thereafter.
That said, I’m glad that this Reston institution has survived the storm and I am sure these wrinkles will get worked out soon. I look forward to many more visits to come.
This was our first time dining at Passion Fish. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (with the help of Matt, our waiter). We’ll be back!
I have been a big fan of Passion Fish. We dined outside which was fine (no heaters). Service was very good. Sushi apps were outstanding. Drinks well made. Entrees were also very good. I have two issues. The cost of entrees has always been high but $35-40 is a bit much. I know restaurants are trying to make up revenue post Covid but this pricing will reduce the frequency of my dining out. The wine list also needs work. It is expensive and some of the selections are downright horrible in both the red and white categories.
Birthday dinner for our granddaughter. She LOVES Passion Fish. When we were seated, the menus said “Happy Birthday,” so that made it even more special.
We were seated upstairs, which has way less ambiance than downstairs, but drinks, food, and service were good.
Excellent food, excellent service. One of the best restaurants around.
Food is always fresh and delicious! Never disappoints!
We took my mother-in-law to PassionFish for a Mother’s Day lunch and we had a fantastic experience. She ordered the whole crispy flounder and loved it (though I must say she ordered it without the spicy tamarind sauce do to dietary restrictions) — she said it was the best she’s had in a very long time! My husband I ordered the halibut and the whole branzino and they were quite good as well. The meals were on the expensive side, but they were delicious and the service was excellent! We don’t go to PassionFish all that often because of the expense, but we have consistently had very good meals when we have gone!
Mother’s Day lunch. Really enjoyed the experience and the food. I did think it was a tad pricey for the portions given but the taste was excellent!
The waitress was a bit standoffish but the manager more than made up for it.
Wonderful experience. Excellent service. Lovely wine and tasty sushi!
It took them way too long to get our appetizers and when we ordered our entrees they took our but after about 15 minutes the server came back that they are out of flounder, flounder is the main reason we go there, and this has happened several time in past visits. The staff and the management were pleasant
Consistently fresh, delicious seafood. Peruvian Ceviche, Tuna Roll and Branzini were superb. Chef Vincent knows his stuff! Enjoy sitting at the bar for lunch and having bartender Ashley take care of us. She's a delightful, attentive pro! Looking forward to our next visit.
We were outside and the street noise was a bit much but we've lived in Europe so we understand.
Great food great service. Everything was fresh and staff were delightful.
The pictures on Open Table do not do the restaurant justice. Ambiance was romantic and service was spot on. Even received my wife’s favorite dessert delivery from another restaurant because they other was closing 😬. That showed me that they really go above and beyond to please guest. Our waiter was attentive but and was not pushy and had a a good reporte with the sushi chef.
Really disappointed in the overall level of service and the quality of the meal. For a $250 dinner I expected a lot better. The waitress didn’t understand the menu items - nigiri, sashimi, what was included etc. My grilled black cod was cut in a messy way and very undercooked. The grapefruit cocktail was bland and had no alcohol. Won’t be going back
As always a great experience
Beautiful presentation of food! It was delicious! Service was very attentive by all the waiters.
Food was outstanding. Service was lousy. Waited for 45 minutes for sushi and asparagus salads for 2.
A thoroughly pleasant dining experience. The food was delicious and the tables were well-separated and safe.
From start to finish our experience at PassionFish was wonderful. Ambience was on point. The service was great and the food was delicious, and they even acknowledged my boyfriends birthday in the most thoughtful way. Highly recommend!
I took my husband for his birthday and we enjoyed every bite. The service was phenomenal and we’ll definitely be back.
We had an incredible dinner out at PassionFish tonight! I have a lot of allergies (gluten-free, dairy free) and Vincent went out of his way to make sure that I was well taken care of and felt completely comfortable with my delicious scallops and risotto. The service was top-notch from beginning to end and the food was delicious. We can’t wait to come back!
The sushi was fresh and delicious. The cerviche was also very good and fresh
My Son and I got together for a leisurely catch-up dinner. (Although my wife and I are regular customers, it was his first time eating here.) Once again, it was a 5-star experience on all levels. Claudia, our server, was friendly, helpful, courteous, and attentive. The drinks (Lavender Bee & Barrell Aged Manhattan) were tasty & potent.
The very delicious food was excellently presented (Crab Cocktail & Grilled Mediterranean Octopus appetizers, followed by the Char-Grilled Whole Bronzini with Salsa Verde and the Grilled Tandoori Tiger Prawns. Side dishes were the roasted cauliflower and the cremini mushrooms. Desserts were the Florida Key Lime Tart and the Chocolate Mousse Bomb.)! I have been coming to PassionFish since moving to Reston in 2012 and have never been disappointed. Highly Recommended.
Our go to place for a night out! So glad to be back in person.
Great food and service
Always great food, outstanding service and easy environment.
The flavors here never disappoint. I just wish their loyalty program was more user friendly. Even with a reservation, it isn't automatically added and there is limited/no online access to manage the account.
It was my wife and my first real date out dining since the pandemic. We dined a bit earlier than normal. As a result, we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our dining experience.
Very nice restaurant. Food was very good and well prepared. Server seemed to take an extra long time seeing to us between courses, but it may be because of COVID measures. Recommend this restaurant, especially if you like seafood with an Asian flavor.
Awesome dinner as always!
Great chow and great service. The Thai lobster curry was outstanding.
I took my husband here to surprise him . We have never been here before. We were very happy with the food. We especially loved the crab and Mac. We ordered one for the road! We got the complimentary bread which was really good. Then as an app we got raw oysters that were very tasty. I ordered the gumbo and the Mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes. My husband ordered something else I can’t recall. But we both loved Everything. The gumbo was very good. The mashed potatoes was very tasty. My husband was practically licking the bowl. Highly recommended. We will be back. .
Great as always. Soft shell crab already in the menu - really meaty. Charbroiled oysters were perfectly grilled.
Still not willing to eat indoors. The patio is a good alternative. It is, of course, noisy but then you get to see all the people (a lot less than in the past) passing by. The seafood is stunningly good. The octopus appetizer is amazing.
We had a lovely meal and excellent service. Matt was our server.
Food was horrible way overpriced. Don’t mind paying for good quality . but was not impressed fish taste frozen . Been a few times and was amazing before COVID. will not go back after last time .
We had a wonderful table. service was excellent. the food was superb! And overall just a great evening.
