It was my first time dining at PassionFish in Reston on Sunday January 22nd and I had an outstanding time. My server was attentive and super friendly. The ambiance is very luxurious and a perfect place to go for date night. The food was perfectly portioned and tasted extraordinary. Everything about this restaurant is all you want your dining experience to be. PassionFish has definitely set the bar.
This is the first time I have tried the brunch at Passion Fish. I thought the food was very good and the brunch menu had plenty of varied options.
The experience and food overall was okay. It wasn't as good as we were hoping it was going to be. They weren't serving the restaurant week menu although it was the last day of restaurant week because it was Brunch only. They were out of one of the brunch menu items we wanted. The service was REALLY slow too.. we were there for 2.5 hours. But in general food was tasty and restaurant is nice.
Did their Sunday brunch, great value and amazing food. My husband and I loved everything we ate, but what really made it a great experience was the service we got. Our waitress was attentive but didn't rush service despite being busy, 5 star service from Vivian.
We have been to PassionFish for lunch and dinner on multiple occasions. This is the first time we went in for Sunday brunch and was very pleased with food and drink selections.
I've heard so many positive comments about PassionFish, so I was very excited to meet my sister and niece there for brunch. The waiter was very pleasant and the ambiance was nice. Our waiter highly recommended the seafood crepe, so I ordered that and the seafood cobb salad. The crepe was filled with what appeared to be a seafood bisque. It was runny and really didn't have much flavor. The salad arrived and looked pretty good. The menu said it came with blue cheese, I didn't see or taste any blue cheese. The pinkish salad dressing was very odd and did nothing to enhance the taste of the salad. The bacon on the salad was very delicious. Needless to say, I was very underwhelmed. When we left, I asked my daughter how her food was. She had ordered the squash/lobster bisque and the chesapeake benedict. She enjoyed her soup, but was not pleased with the benedict. I later asked my sister what she thought, and she was disappointed as well. My sister has been there for lunch and really liked it before. Given the competition in RTC, I won't be back for brunch. If someone invites me there for a different meal, I'll probably give it another try, but not of my own volition.
I love PassionFish in general and have just discovered what a good, reasonable brunch they have. Highly recommended and a great way to eat at this restaurant for a reasonable price.
As always it was a stellar meal. Scallops, lobster curry and brussel sprouts were outstanding. We.sat at the bar and the service was fantastic. We even received great vacation suggestions.
Restaurant Week menu is quite good at PassionFish. Service was excellent on a busy night. Muscadet wine is very good with fish.
Disappointed that they do not serve Albariño or Vermentino, both excellent seafood wines.
Great service from checking my coat from the General Manager checking in at our table. Will come again!
It was Friday during restaurant week, so they were very busy. We had John as our waiter again, and he was excellent. Very personable and knowledge, kept things moving along without rushing or lagging. The butternut squash lobster bisque was excellent, and the Arctic char (like trout salmon hybrid) was delicious with the verde sauce. Pumpkin cheesecake for dessert also very good. My only quibble was that the hurricane cocktail has shrunk in size while increasing in price ($14) and wasn’t mixed well. All the alcohol was on top and was too harsh.
Absolutely the best. We love this restaurant. Probably best know of its fish dishes, the NY strip I had was outstanding!
The noise level was almost deafening when we left at 730. Fortunately we ate at 6 and it was considerably quieter. The food was excellent and service was great until it came to Desert when we had to go and look for our waiter. We found the prices to be outrageous for a dinner for 2.
We had ceviche and the corn and crab chowder as starters followed by cioppino and blackened mahi-mahi. All very good.
We always enjoy our visits to Passion Fish, delicious food and superb service.
Excellent place for fish. We went for restaurant week( as we do every year) to get great fish at an affordable price. 4 courses for $35!
PassionFIsh was great, as always. Food was very good, pace was as we requested, and our waiter was an obviously seasoned veteran. He was terrific and made the experience that much better.
Always a delight to eat at Passion Fish. Friendly, attentive staff....consistently fine food.
best seafood, best service, best service, best restaurant in Reston
always consistent, always fresh, varied and exciting menu
always inventive, can't wait to go backA++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Great food. I was delighted by the flavor of their dishes. It was really a great place for dinner.
Went for lunch during restaurant week. The waiter took our license plate and validated the Reston Town Center parking so that was easy:)
The waiter was attentive but not in your face, much appreciated. The crab and corn chowder and California roll appetizers were both very good. Had the crab cake and salmon sandwiches. The crab cake was excellent, the salmon patty was a bit dry. The French fries and sweet potato fries were well seasoned.
Creme brûlée for dessert was what you would expect. A little fruit or something on top would have made the presentation better. The chocolate bomb cake dessert was excellent.
Food was amazing as always, Passion Fish has a great fish selection.
I call it a "mixed bag". We were there Restaurant Week, and arrived 5 minutes early. The reception area was quite crowded, and confusing. We were seated 10 minutes later at a nice, quiet table. Our waiter was excellent. Lobster butternut bisque was delicious, but the ceviche was a disappointment. Grilled salmon was excellent while the lemon sole was so overcooked, and dry, that I could have prepared it better myself (and I am no pro). Pumpkin cheesecake was good, but the chocolate mousse dessert was disappointing. I doubt that we'll return because I see the possibility, there, for a splendid meal, but also, for an awful meal at a very high price.
one of our favorite place for a casual dinner or a date- the menu needs a refresh since it has not changed much for a number of years. one can have the whole flounder only so many times!s
Food was delicious. Waitress was shockingly rude. One of several examples, "Oh you wanted dessert, well you didn't tell me that." Really?!?
I did restaurant week with my girlfriend and the choices were good and I got the gumbo which was just spicy and filling enough for me. The spicy salmon rolls were good and the pumpkin cheesecake tart was good
Great as usual!
Favorite for seafood. Food was superb quality, artfully prepared.
Went for restaurant week as best deal. Ut we go other times when we want great seafood.
Good food, slow service, orders were wrong, but nice atmosphere.
Service was ok, not great. Food was good, but restaurant has lost it edge since opening - needs improvement. Would recommend to a friend, but with caveats.
Early dinner at Passionfish consisting of oysters, sashimi, and 3 glasses of extremely good Red Zin picked by my very friendly, funny, and helpful bartender. Comfortable seating that makes you feel like you are part of the bar. Friendly helpful staff. Great food. Go here. Right now.
Always love returning. Food is very good, a lot of variety to select from, with seasonal updates.
Best brunch in Northern Virginia.
My boyfriend and I came to Passionfish for our 2 year anniversary. I loved the atmosphere, and the staff was very kind and accommodating. The table was set beautifully all candle lit. The food was amazing. I would recommend the butternut squash soup & the sushi with the fried lobster. The dessert was amazing too. I would recommend getting the donuts with the coffee dip and the key lime tart. It was by far the best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time.
Delicious food, nice ambience, and great service!
We visited PassionFish in 2018 whilst on a business trip and had a great time/really enjoyed the food and drinks. It made it the obvious choice when we visited in Jan 2019.
Sushi was dry as if it had been sitting out for a while. No real greens to chose from. Really has gone down hill in quality
