Always love the food at PassionFish. However it was very noisy during lunch and it took the waiter and the servers some time to come out with our food etc. probably due to it being restaurant week.
Love this restaurant, particularly the ceviche and the lobster roll. The service is always excellent. And it's a particularly good value during restaurant week.
My husband did not like the gumbo. Two soups were very good, carrot/shrimp and the corn chowder. The waiter was just OK, not great. And the bartender would not make me a gin fizz. So rather disappointing.
A large group of us came here for dinner during Restaurant week. We were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time, but they were busy and we were a large group. I attribute a lot of our experience being due to how busy they were, but once seated, our server was not the friendliest. She barely spoke to us and it took forever for us to place our orders. Once we did finally place our orders, the appetizers came out quickly, but the entrees again took forever. The were packed and I understand you can only cook so much at one time. I had the spice salmon and avocado roll for the appetizer. It wasn’t spicy at all, so I’m not sure where it gets it’s name. I also ordered the jambalaya and was pretty disappointed. It came out with a clotted layer on time like it sat under the heat lamp for quite some time. It also contained minimal rice and lacked the spices normal jambalaya has. It tasted more like a gravy with seafood mixed in. I would give it a second chance on a night that maybe isn’t so busy, but I’m not in a hurry to go back.
Had dinner here during restaurant week. Passion Fish continues to get worse and worse. I recommend skipping this restaurant unless you're sitting at the bar during happy hour.
Great food but the staff was a bit on the sulky side. There was nothing wrong with the mechanics of what they did, but everyone seemed unhappy. I wondered if they were understaffed or something? At any rate restaurant week is a fab value here. My Artic Char was deliciously cooked and the sauce was perfection. Two of our group had the whole fried flounder and said it was A+. The creme brûlée was disappointing. There was a an odd flavor that wasn’t in the description and the sugar topping wasn’t crispy. The chocolate crumble was to die for, however.
Perfect lunch. Everything was delicious. Lobster gazpacho, tomato salad with hummus, shrimp and grits, red rainbow trout with citrus sauce, chocolate mousse crunch. Plus free parking.
A wonderful experience during restaurant week. Everything was excellent, the gumbo was delicious and I had a key lime tart for desert which melted in your mouth. This is the best restaurant in Fairfax County.
It was restaurant week and the choices were very good to select from. Service was great and food was very good.
It was our first time, and we love this place and will go back there again.
They provide excellent service, great food, and friendly atmosphere.
Creme brûlé was terrible
Another Restaurant Week star. Great value-order off of the regular menu. Parking validated for one hour. You'll need your license plate number if you don't use the RTC App. We enjoyed our meal of seafood cobb salad and chilled lobster soup. Lime tart for dessert.
Great restaurant for brunch, lunch or dinner! Definitely one of our favorites!!
Outside waiter a little rude- really not listening - a little lofty in his attitude. Needs more training
Had another great dinner at Passionfish. This is our go to restaurant for crab cakes, which are hands down the best I've had anywhere, ever. They have virtually no fillers, had not one piece of shell, and the crab meat is moist and very tender. Also, you can choose a sauce for them, and I usually get both the traditional tartar and the beurre blanc, which is a rich wine/butter sauce. Yum.
We also ordered a trout dinner which was simple and delicious, their wonderful sweet potato fries, roasted brussels sprouts made to order, and an order of their "mac and jack". Macaroni and cheese is not something I ordinarily get as a side dish, being that most of the time, it's bland and boring. The chef at Passionfish had the incredible good sense to add a good amount of jack cheese and then browned butter to the crumbs on top. The browned butter makes the dish stand out.
To complete the evening, our server was witty and prompt, and the bartender made a cocktail to my specifications that wasn't on the menu. Always a great experience at Passionfish.
Server was great. He was quick and eager to please. Great customer service
$200 before tip is a bit pricey for 3 people considering we had no booze, just regular water.
Our visits will be for special occasions only. We did have an appetizer and desert.
Matt was excellent as our waiter and the main course was excellent quite good.
Very enjoyable evening with friends and wonderful seafood dishes. The half off wine promotion was an added benefit to a great experience.
We will certainly go back for Brunch. One of the most enjoyable brunch experiences we have had in this area.
We had a delightful evening outside on the patio enjoying the weather and the oysters
Great Server! Great Atmosphere!
For the most part it was great.
My rating is based on my visit during happy hour and sitting at the bar. The food was very good and pricing of the bar food was very reasonable. Service was excellent. If you want good seafood at a good price, nice ambiance and good service, this is the place to go in Reston
Great dinner, excellent service.
Great food and great service....another wonderful dinner at Passion Fish
It is pricey, but we totally enjoyed our wine and food.
The food and service were exceptional. The portions were filling and the prices were commensurate for the quality of the food. The wine was a little overpriced but overall an excellent evening.
Great food. A little long waiting for entrees after appetizer. Wasn’t sure who was our designated server until later. Overall - very good.
The food, ambiance and the wait staff exceeded everyone's expectations! I enjoyed the halibut dinner! My husband had a crab cake dinner to die for! We shared a wonderful fried oyster appetizer! We will definitely dine at Passion Fish again when we are in the area*
Nice birthday dinner with family. Service was slow - especially with our drinks at the bar - but food was very good.
Very good. Good service
PassionFish has never disappointed me. Surprisingly one of the best steaks around!
First time dining. Memorable food, staff & interior ambiance. Will most likely revisit & refer friends. An easy going & professional place to cap off the night.
Always reliably excellent
Waitress was excellent and food was fantastic
Took my best friend and friends there for his 40th birthday. They always take care of me when I go and no difference this time. Great wait staff and bartenders. Always treated like family. We started at the bar for happy hour and it is the best happy hour around on a Saturday, can’t go wrong with $5 drinks and apps. We sat down for dinner and it is one of the best seafood restaurants in NOVA. We had sushi to start and all had either the fresh fish or one of the chefs specials, all delicious, very, very good. Can’t wait to see everyone there when we go back. Thank you so much for making my best friends birthday one of the best bdays he’s ever had.
Very nice evening, great waiter, great food.
Nice booth at top of staircase was perfect to visit within it.
Love this place. Claudia is the best server.
Excellent service from our waitress. We will be back.
Haven't need there in a few years. Used to go weekly for business lunches. Disappointed in the food quality.
