Great location, great food, and great service. Would return again.
Great for weekend brunch. Something for every taste
Our waiter did not know wines. We asked for a dry white wine and got a sweet white wine. Also, why clean empty plates when other guest has not finished eating theirs? Noise level is too high. Food is delicious though, except the creme brulee.
The food was excellent. Everything tasted very fresh. The service was great.
We were three people. Our guest of ordered one fish, but was served with another...which we had to send back. When The the correct fish came, it was good. I had the scallops for $34, and was surprised when 5 scallops came on my plate. I founds that very expensive ($7/each).
Overall, the food wasn’t bad, but not proportional to the price. The service was good. The ambiance was good, but not outstanding.
Take your chances, and hold on to your wallet.
Excellent food. Service mediocre. Way, way too noisy.
Food is excellent. Waiter was really good. There is also outdoor seating
Food was ok. I had Mediterranean shrimp salad. 6 shrimps which were paired, which made it look like three very small grilled shrimp. This was laid atop three rows of vegetable (cucumber/ tomato (replaces olives) and chick peas.
All of this laid on top of chopped lettuce
Two tiny pieces of stale pita bread.
Not particularly inspiring.
The weekend brunch was quite a bargain when considering the price, quality of food, menu choices and ambiance.
Service was terrible. Took forever for check to arrive.
I was a big fan of Acadiana’s Shrimp and Grits and their Charbroiled Oysters. Passion Fish recently add the Oysters and they are great. The Shrimp and Grits are amazing.
The salmon was flavorful and cooked perfectly; the summer vegetables were good; the dinner rolls very good. Our server (a woman) was very good -- prompt, knowledgeable and courteous.
A neighborhood Sushi/pan-Asian spot. Something for everyone with sushi, Thai and Chinese dishes. In a large strip center in west Bethesda, not far from Mass Ave or MacArthur Blvd. Delightful servers. Some outdoor seating for those pleasant days.
We came in during Restaurant Week and enjoyed our experience so much that we returned a couple of weeks later - and brought friends with us. The service was outstanding from start to finish. (Yay Emily, in particular!) The food was delicious and portioned just right. There was a wonderful selection of menu options. Accompaniments and garnishes on the plate added to the treat! We’ll be back again soon.
Very disappointing- I do not advise dining there the Sunday of Labor Day weekend- the only daily fresh fish they offered was salmon and trout. I’m a huge fan of PF, but this experience really soured me - I think the restaurant should have informed people making reservations that their menu was going to be quite limited. This was a special occasion dinner, which we did on the exact same date a year ago with a completely different experience. I won’t be back to PF for quite awhile
We've come here several times and each time the food is wonderful. This weekend I had fish and chips and it was the best I've ever had. Not greasy and very light and flaky.
Good food and service. We had a reservation and would have preferred a better table. Next time, I will ask but did not want to make my business lunch companion uncomfortable.
We had a patio table, as inside the restaurant is often quite noisy. I wish I could recommend this restaurant but the service was so bad it made it an unpleasant meal. Waited forever to be welcomed; table of 4 next to us received everything before us (table of 2) though we had been seated before them. Even they got up to ask the server for their check, and I believe also when they were ready to order. The food--multiple appetizers, which I realize can be tricky--was delivered by four different people to the wrong person; drink refills took a long time. Waited a LOOOOONG time for the check.
Birthday Brunch. It was very quite when we got there. The seafood crepe is a must have. Tacos were really good as well. Didn’t enjoy the chicken and waffles as much. Service was a bit slow especially since it was quiet.
7 People all with different fish entrees and Dushi all delicious. Can’t wait to go back
Wonderful food and drink in a clean and inviting setting. Rolls and white fish spread on table were delightful. Soup creamy and delicious. Meal perfect. Drink selection creative. Wish I had room for desert! Staff friendly and quick to help. Will come back when coming to area!
We ordered the Kung Pao Calamari, Crispy Whole Flounder, Red Thai Curry Lobster, Szechuan Eggplant, Mac ‘n’ Jack with Crab. For drinks Kentucky Sunset and an Old Fashion. The calamari portion could've been a little larger but the Crispy Whole Flounder is huge and makes up for it. Szechuan Eggplant was delicious. The red thai curry was good I wasn't a fan of the pineapple but my boyfriend enjoyed it. Mac 'n' Jack with crab was solid.
Consistently good food service and value.
Too noisy. Asked for a quiet table and they did put us at a slightly quieter table, but it was still very loud. The room(s) have absolutely no sound dampening design features. The waitress didn't come back to ask if she could refresh our drinks. The bus staff took away utensils we could have used for the next course. The lobster thai curry I had was just ok flavorwise, but its real problem was that the lobster pieces in it were extremely rubbery.
Went for Wash Restaurant Week. Special dinner was three courses for roughly the price of the main course (which was selected from the usual dinner menu). We though all ordered dishes were high quality and service was also good. Restaurant gets a thumbs up from us.
food was not great, I would probably not go again. Prices were only reasonable due to Restaurant Week.
Very enjoyable. Food was excellent from appetizers through dessert. Great service also. Was there for restaurant week and will definitely return.
This was my first visit to Passion Fish Bethesda. I took a dear friend to celebrate her birthday. She loved the food and service. The customer service was very good. She had a special request for her mimosas which was accommodated. I had a fly around my bread and water glass, finally dropped in the glass. The manager came over to apologize for pasty fly, not usual in the restaurant. She offered a complimentary bloody Mary. I appreciated. Also, the bloody Mary drink is presented naked, no celery, lemon, olive or shrimp. It tasted good, but needed some accents, celery, etc.
This was my first time dining at Passion Fish-Bethesda, and with it being Restaurant Week was a perfect time to give it a try. I absolutely loved everything from the delicious food (even for a restaurant week menu), the wonderful service and the relaxing ambiance. I will definitely be returning soon!
Passionfish was the perfect place to go for Restaurant Week! It was a great introduction to what is now a new local favorite. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and well presented, and the atmosphere was upscale. The only negative of the experience was how loud it was. The large ceilings are gorgeous to look at but do ad quite a din to the space. I don't think it was the amount of people, just architecture. Otherwise it was a great night! We can't wait to come back for happy hour drinks and dinner later!
We went there for Restaurant Week. Our appetizers consisted of 8 pieces of sushi roll each which were excellent (salmon for my wife, and lump crab for me). For the main course, my wife had Arctic Char with green beans which were very good. I had the salmon with sugar snap peas which were excellent. For dessert, we both had the chocolate mousse, also excellent. Our young server (only 18 years old!) was attentive, responsive, and pleasant. The restaurant was filled with happy hour guests who were quite noisy, which is the only complaint we have. Otherwise, the food was delicious and the service was great.
We took advantage of the great Bethesda restaurant week lunch offer - $22 for three courses - and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Lovely presentation and the service was great. We have been there before and will certainly return.
We had the flounder and the sword fish...both were absolutely delicious
We've been dining here a somewhat frequently of late, mostly to lunch and happy hour. We took the opportunity to have lunch during Restaurant Week and I enjoyed that meal, with a cocktail, more than any other I've had in recent memory. The server -- who is also the bartender at times and described the cocktails perfectly -- was superb.
Outstanding! Great value at $22 plus $10 for excellent cocktail at lunch!
Passion Fish is consistently a great restaurant to dine in. Every meal, every dish is always so good. Add in the great service and comfortable environment, and I love going there!
Love their rolls with house special butter.
The lobster bisque had roasted pumpkin seed & oil on top before but not today, hope the restaurant will bring that flavorful add-on back.
Passion Fish is a great place. Lots of menu items, great happy hour. Close to shopping, movie theater and parking. We decided to do the happy hour menu at the communal tables and had a great time. Our server was attentive and the food fresh and well presented. We will be back soon.
I recommend this restaurant for dinner before a movie or just for a lovely meal.
Great food. Sat outside. Went for birthday lunch/weekend brunch. Was given free dessert for birthday. Would go again.
