Consistently good food service and value.
Too noisy. Asked for a quiet table and they did put us at a slightly quieter table, but it was still very loud. The room(s) have absolutely no sound dampening design features. The waitress didn't come back to ask if she could refresh our drinks. The bus staff took away utensils we could have used for the next course. The lobster thai curry I had was just ok flavorwise, but its real problem was that the lobster pieces in it were extremely rubbery.
Went for Wash Restaurant Week. Special dinner was three courses for roughly the price of the main course (which was selected from the usual dinner menu). We though all ordered dishes were high quality and service was also good. Restaurant gets a thumbs up from us.
food was not great, I would probably not go again. Prices were only reasonable due to Restaurant Week.
Very enjoyable. Food was excellent from appetizers through dessert. Great service also. Was there for restaurant week and will definitely return.
This was my first visit to Passion Fish Bethesda. I took a dear friend to celebrate her birthday. She loved the food and service. The customer service was very good. She had a special request for her mimosas which was accommodated. I had a fly around my bread and water glass, finally dropped in the glass. The manager came over to apologize for pasty fly, not usual in the restaurant. She offered a complimentary bloody Mary. I appreciated. Also, the bloody Mary drink is presented naked, no celery, lemon, olive or shrimp. It tasted good, but needed some accents, celery, etc.
This was my first time dining at Passion Fish-Bethesda, and with it being Restaurant Week was a perfect time to give it a try. I absolutely loved everything from the delicious food (even for a restaurant week menu), the wonderful service and the relaxing ambiance. I will definitely be returning soon!
Passionfish was the perfect place to go for Restaurant Week! It was a great introduction to what is now a new local favorite. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and well presented, and the atmosphere was upscale. The only negative of the experience was how loud it was. The large ceilings are gorgeous to look at but do ad quite a din to the space. I don't think it was the amount of people, just architecture. Otherwise it was a great night! We can't wait to come back for happy hour drinks and dinner later!
We went there for Restaurant Week. Our appetizers consisted of 8 pieces of sushi roll each which were excellent (salmon for my wife, and lump crab for me). For the main course, my wife had Arctic Char with green beans which were very good. I had the salmon with sugar snap peas which were excellent. For dessert, we both had the chocolate mousse, also excellent. Our young server (only 18 years old!) was attentive, responsive, and pleasant. The restaurant was filled with happy hour guests who were quite noisy, which is the only complaint we have. Otherwise, the food was delicious and the service was great.
We took advantage of the great Bethesda restaurant week lunch offer - $22 for three courses - and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Lovely presentation and the service was great. We have been there before and will certainly return.
We had the flounder and the sword fish...both were absolutely delicious
We've been dining here a somewhat frequently of late, mostly to lunch and happy hour. We took the opportunity to have lunch during Restaurant Week and I enjoyed that meal, with a cocktail, more than any other I've had in recent memory. The server -- who is also the bartender at times and described the cocktails perfectly -- was superb.
Outstanding! Great value at $22 plus $10 for excellent cocktail at lunch!
Passion Fish is consistently a great restaurant to dine in. Every meal, every dish is always so good. Add in the great service and comfortable environment, and I love going there!
Love their rolls with house special butter.
The lobster bisque had roasted pumpkin seed & oil on top before but not today, hope the restaurant will bring that flavorful add-on back.
Passion Fish is a great place. Lots of menu items, great happy hour. Close to shopping, movie theater and parking. We decided to do the happy hour menu at the communal tables and had a great time. Our server was attentive and the food fresh and well presented. We will be back soon.
I recommend this restaurant for dinner before a movie or just for a lovely meal.
Great food. Sat outside. Went for birthday lunch/weekend brunch. Was given free dessert for birthday. Would go again.
Great evening - great food and attentive/very pleasant staff. Well done folks.
My wife and I tried the Restaurant Week menu. We were very impressed with our meals. The food and service, as well as the value were excellent. However, it was quite noisy near the bar and difficult to carry on a conversation. It's not always like that. We will go back. It's one of our favorite restaurants.
Wonderful meal! 4 people: Everyone was very happy with our main dishes: branzino, trout, chicken, scallops, veggie rolls sushi, spicy tuna, salad for starters; excellent creme brûlée and key lime pie! Our waitress was wonderful!
Wonderful fish selections, outstanding flavor and presentation. Service on point and accommodating for an "energetic" birthday party.
Restaurant-week promo was probably the best deal! The filet, sushi, creme brulee, lobster bisque and Manhattan were out of this world. All of the food was fresh and of high quality. The staff and service they provided was prompt and wonderful.
Fun atmosphere. Noise level pretty high but back rooms a bit quieter. Seafood is excellent and some nice fresh vegetable sides available. All cooked perfectly. Some lovely sushi choices also
We were about 10 minutes late for our reserved time but were greeted warmly by everyone at the host stand, given a choice of locations (window vs. less noisy) and promptly shown to our table.
The servers were excellent. Our water glasses were refilled before we had to ask.
My trout was seasoned and cooked perfectly, as were the mixed vegetables in the side dish.
I look forward to returning to this restaurant again.
Food and service were great
An Asian style preparation of calamari left much to be desired, prefer more traditional calamari breaded and fried.
Food so disappointing for the price.
Does not deliver. Food is just OK, and expensive, even for downtown Bethesda.
Excellent food to go with wonderful ambience and service. We would recommend PassionFish to our friends.
Our servers were excellent. The food was very good. I had the seafood crepe and the crab eggs benedict. A little too much rich sauce on each of these. The sauce was good but it overwhelmed the other flavors. Each person who served us that day was efficient, friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend PassionFish in Bethesda.
Everything was perfect. The food was delicious; the server was very pleasant and the room that we were seated in was very nice. I always enjoy coming to Passion Fish in Bethesda and this visit was as good as the many others I have had. Keep up the good work.
This place is so delicious! I hope it sticks around for a long time! Thanks so much for making my moms birthday special.
Great food and atmosphere!
Amazing experience! Pro's-Food and drinks were amazing. We had lobster and crab cakes and mac n cheese and szechuan eggplant. Already recommending to close friends.
Cons-dessert could have been better. not impressed with chocolate mousse.
Great food and service.
My first time at PassionFish and my server was incredibly helpful. He recommended several items including the surf and turf which I ordered. Everything was cooked perfectly. Next time I’ll try sushi and ceviche!
Despite the carefully prepared , delicious food in every course and simply outstanding ambience, the highlight minute after minute ( yes she was that attentive) was the outstanding service offered by Mary Rose.
The surf and turf , my go to entree, anywhere, was about the best in the greater WashingtonDC area and with the Thursday promotion a great deal on its own or as a complete prix fixe. I started with the Caesar salad snowed under in wonderful parmigiano and white anchovies (yay!!). Every dessert is on the offer with the set menu as well.
Along with excellent warm bread served with white fish spread or butter and a superb selection of side vegetables, which could turn me into a vegetarian, PassionFish Bethesda deserves the most exalted accolades. But the highlight, simply, the service. Thank you MARY ROSE , ne plus ultra!
The menu, while focusing on seafood, has something for everyone. We had the prawn and grilled octopus appetizers and they were excellent. All of the food was prepared scrupulously. The special Steak Dianne was great; the scallops and crispy whole founder were excellent. The atmosphere was very comforting and we especially like the way the bar was separated from the dining areas, which made conversation much easier. Our wait staff, Soomni, was very personable, which made for a more enjoyable experience. We were also pleased with the wine list.
A very noisy restaurant. Nothing in the décor seems to absorb the noise. Unless I can get a table in one of the far and few in between quiet corners I doubt I will return.
