Passero translates to “sparrow” in Italian, and like the sparrow this neighborhood eatery symbolizes joy, creativity and hard work. Passero serves as a reminder that busy hands and minds promote a happy and full life.
Second visit because first visit was so delightful. Both times everyone liked their pasta entrees. The Brussels sprout small dish/appetizer was amazing. The disappointing entree was the Nice Piece Of Fish. 2 months ago it was amazing. This time the menu had changed. And.. not so good. The walleye itself was flaky and tasty but the breading was not very nice. Too thick and way overcooked bottom layer to the point of not being able to cut through it easily. I was so disappointed!
We will wait for the menu to change again so I can try another Nice Piece Of Fish. Because I know for sure the chef is capable of creating something truly delicious. Just not this time.
Birthday! Great spot
Food was fresh and delicious. We all had a hard time deciding what to eat because it sounded so good. Portions were generous. Drinks were great. We enjoyed our brunch.
Food was great and very good service...City prices so adds up quick. Cheesy Garlic pull apart was amazing and very filling.
We have been there a few times and I love the menu. Our waiter, Joe, was excellent and made great recommendations. I asked the waiter to choose between to meals for me. I just wanted it spicy. and it was perfect. I asked him to pick and surprise me.. I cannot wait to go to the new locations.
The food at Passero was incredible! Service was great/fast and I will definitely go back!
My wife and I dined here on a Friday evening. Each of our choices were presented to us demonstrating an understanding of proper plating. Each of our choices tasted incredible as well. Our dessert was incredible too! Our meal was outstanding.
My friends and I had a wonderful dinner at Passero. The food and service were great. I can't wait to come back!
Favorite restaurant in downtown Arlington, have been many times and will continue to go back. The food, service, and ambiance are just outstanding! Love this place
This place is great
Food delicious, a little tight for seating but a totally enjoyable meal. Would go again!!
Outstanding meal. Italian food with local improvement
Maybe this restaurant will expand in ALL aspects when it relocates. Passero’s inability to provide its customers with a dining experience is their biggest failure. People can eat anywhere, but choose to dine out for the overall experience.
We always enjoy coming here. It’s my husband’ and mine favorite Italian place. Food is always amazing but our service this time was less than desirable. The drinks were made wrong. We complained to our server who was also the bartender. He mentioned it’s how he makes them all the time. It might be that we’ve had other bartenders make our drinks in the past. My food came without shrimp which, I requested. They took back the dish to add the shrimp but left my husbands plate on the table. He waited for my dish to come back so his food was cold by the time it did.
Apps and dessert were great! (Ricotta honey, arugula salad, tempura cauliflower and peanut butter pie$. Main dishes, so so as they lacked flavor (braised beef and gnocchi).
The food is excellent every time and the staff is very helpful.
Great food and great service. Looking forward to trying more dishes!
Lively place. We had a wobbly table. Most of the food was tasty, though there were some unusual flavor combinations for my taste. I would recommend it to those with an adventurous palate.
It is what we come to expect from Passero, exceptional food, and outstanding service. We were seated up front and it was a perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary. Passero is one of our favorite restaurants in Arlington Heights and we look forward to returning soon.
The food was fresh and delicious. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and had a great evening.
WAY too expensive for what we ate. Service was very slow. Ambiance was non-existent. Food was good, not great.
Had a fun evening at Pasero. The cheesy pull-apart garlic bread is amazing, and now a must for any future visit!! It takes 15 minutes to make and arrive at your table, so make sure to order as soon as you are seated! The two Old Fashioneds were perfectly poured! The Mediterranean Salad was nice. 2 of our 3 main entrees (all pasta) were very good. The third was unsatisfactory though as it was not al dente like the others, but hard. Our chocolate peanut butter tart dessert with gelato was perfectly delicious/incredible! So all in all a very good experience and we'll plan on enjoying this spot again!
Can’t wait to go back! We went for brunch and loved everything!!! The quality of the food was exceptional!! Our server was attentive and very friendly...
Date night with wife. Food was excellent as always, and we love the ambiance. It was a bit crowded when we arrived but we were seated within just a few minutes and right on time with our reservation. Service was initially slow, probably because of the crowd, but picked up as the meal progressed. We had the burrata and Brussel sprouts for our app—our standard—and it was delicious. The Joe’s Old Fashioned was okay, but didn’t wow me. It was a bit on the sweet side for my taste. The Chianti-braised short rib was amazing and my wife really enjoyed her Ragu Napoletana. We capped the meal with the apple cobbler and I had a “Unicorn Blood” espresso. Both were excellent. Passero remains one of our favorite restaurants in Arlington Heights and I’m sure we’ll continue to be regular customers. Looking forward to their new location in the former CPK.
We went here for our Anniversary. I have to say after eating in most of the restaurants in Downtown Arlington Heights, and I can say Passero is the best restaurant in Arlington Heights. Great food, great service and a fantastic staff.
Excellent tastes with freshest of ingredients! Great waiter .
Food is always great.
As always, the food and service were wonderful!
Food was very tasty. Service was just OK.
We came for the Calamari and were disappointed that they were out of it. Most memorable part of the evening was the gnats that we were constantly bothered by.
Very pleasant lunch. Many good choices.
Great food, drinks were a small pour.
Excellent restaurant service fabulous happy hour appetizer unbelievable and the pastas unbelievable the riccato pasta dish out of this world
Waitress and food were great. Seemed very understaffed. Hostess was delivering food. Waited 10 minutes past reservation.
Even with a reservation we had to wait and the host was fairly absent (we had to wait to even check in for our reservation). They were out of an entree we wanted to order but the food we did get was delicious.
I ordered a Bloody Mary and the celery had dirt and a bug sac on it. The waitress was mortified and comped my replacement drink but GROSS. A little too farm to table for my taste. Otherwise, I’ve eaten there a few times and have always enjoyed it. Pricey but something different than the usual.
The food was outstanding. Our server was excellent. Crowded and very noisy on a Saturday evening. We would return for the culinary delights. Perhaps on a week day.
The food was excellent. I've been here a few times. I thought the server was rude. He started out very cheery telling us how he would explain the menu but would give us a minute to look over the drink menu. As soon as we said we did not want a drink he didn't waste any time on us. I ask him to explain the menu which he previously offered to do and he said as you can see we have pasta and entrees. Can I take your order?
Seating was in a hallway next to a wait station and kitchen door. There was constant traffic going by our table and the kitchen door was opening and closing during our dinner. Very distracting. The food was good although several items on the short menu were not available due to delivery problems.
Food was wonderful but the wait staff ran back and forth past us the whole time like they were on fire. Not the best table in the house.
The food was exceptional and beverages great. This was a lunch reservation so I was expecting lesser participation at the restaurant, but I was incorrect. The staff were working overtime to get the food to the tables and did their best to be attentive even with a packed lunch service. The bucatini Pomodoro with meatballs was incredible and the Brussel sprouts and Burrata appetizer is a must. A wonderful lunch experience.
