Excellent food. Service was a little off. Waiter did not have many recommendations or details on the dishes. It was a birthday and we didn't order a dessert so they just brought over a candle and said here is this since you didn't order dessert. Would at least bring a piece of chocolate or something. Otherwise skip the candle.

I was so excited to dine there but my expectations weren’t met. The problem here is that everything was just okay. It wasn’t great. My $26 cocktail was OKAY. Caviar was good but you can’t go wrong with caviar. The cheese puffs in the appetiser section were actually bad. I honestly was shocked how bad they were. Tasted like something they served out of closet. Old and dry. Champignon dish was also OKAY. Ribs were okay but gave my bf a heartburn later on. Wine was actually great but over $600 for just OKAY? No, thank you. I’m all for fine dining experience and money isn’t the issue. But it wasn’t it. I feel like I was fooled.

This is simply a superb restaurant, and the food is fabulous. Though the duck is incredible, the other entrees are outstanding. Thankfully the noise/music level is at a minimum, so its a great place to enjoy the food and converse with your guests as well.

We tried about 50% of their appetizers and starters. While good, it tasted pre-prepared. For the main dish we split an order of the monk fish. That was amaaaazing! So delicious.

Friendliest service without pretentiousness at a French dining level where you sometimes expect this type of vibe. Wonderful food. Not too loud so you can have conversations. Casual-chic. Highly recommend.

Overall, my wife and I had a great time. I really liked the music selection as well. I do not think I have anything critical or negative to say. Perhaps my only comment is that it would be neat to know whether or not you have servers who speak French But that’s a minor detail. 🇫🇷

Best French food in the city by a long shot for what is unfortunately a declining genre. Delicious from both a taste and visual context, I have never had a mediocre dish at this restaurant. Service is also very good. The rooms are nice but they could dress it up a bit (not in a formal, stuffy sense) but so it more closely matches the exquisite food.

We ordered Pressed Duck 48 hours ahead as usual. All items ordered were outstanding; caviar, cheese pastry, duck liver pate, steak tartar, braised short rib, miyake mushroom and pressed duck. The sommelier displayed appropriate depth of knowledge. Service was very good. It was one of the busier evenings. Prior to arrival, Jeremy e-mailed quick responses confirming reservation details with grace.

Such a superb experience. We ordered the pressed duck in advance and it was beyond anything we expected. The demonstration by the chef on how the duck was prepared was educational and inspired. The cocktails were potent, the canapés outstanding the duck preparation was indescribably delicious. The duck breast was superb and the sauce was prepared that it added to the flavor. The duck bread pudding was unique and the salad over duck confit sprinkled with roasted duck skin was perfection. Our opera cake dessert capped a perfect meal!

Chef Beran is amazing and his food always delivers! His GM, Anne, absolutely knows how to have the front-of-house running at its best. The entire staff and experience was 5 Star! Do plan to spend at least $3-400 for a couple to dine...gratuity is automatically included. What we had: - Drinks - Baguette - Gruyere cheese puffs - French onion tart - Classic salad - Grouper - Short rib - Rice pudding We would come back for any one and all of those items again. If you haven't had Chef's famous Duck, you should definitely go with a group of friends and have that be one of the items you share with the table! Dialogue was phenomenal! Took my wife to Next in Chicago, which was ridiculous (in a good way). Can't wait for Chef's new restaurant to open later this year!

The food was superb from the baguette to the beet salad and of course the amazing pressed duck. Chocolate soufle was also a winner. Thank you for making it a perfect evening

Pasjoli was recommended to us by our daughter and son-in-law who had a wonderful experience there a few months ago. They ordered the multi course duck dinner and thought it was wonderful. So as a holiday gift we gave our very good friends (2 couples) a $200 gift certificate each. They in turn gave us a $200 gift certificate. So the 6 of us went yesterday for a 5;15 pm sitting after the theatre. Two of us ordered the multi course duck and the other 4 ordered appetizers , salads and the short ribs. The salads were wonderful both in taste and quantity. All six of us found the meat entrees very disappointing. Both the ribs and the duck were "tough", Surprisingly not suitably prepared at all. What a surprise considering the restaurant's reputation. Our primary waiter was very young and inexperienced. He was not engaging at all. He did not offer any advice or recommendations when asked. Not knowing that there is a limit of one corkage per table we each brought a wine to share. We were under the impression from a review that the corkage would be $50 per bottle and it turned out to be $75. Given that we wanted to have at least 3 bottles of wine the bar tender (not a sommelier) made no attempt to recommend any of the house wines although she was supportive of our desire to drink and complementary of the wines we brought. All of us have been to Europe and to France and have had true French service so we were very surprised how inexperienced the staff was in attending to the table. There was one person who was serving the adjacent tables who obviously knew what he was doing and yet our waiter was so devoid of the knowledge and etiquette. The total charge including the mandatory 18% minimum gratuity was over $1,000! That's without the customary complimentary Moosh Boosh in the beginning nor the post meal cookies or tarts. In conclusion this is a "one and done"!
    pasjoliResponded on January 27, 2024
Thanks for telling us about your experience. Our corkage policy is one bottle per table for a $75 fee. We list this on our OpenTable page, in the details while booking, and in the confirmation email. We understood your dissatisfaction with our policy, so our Bar Manager made an exception and opened 3 bottles for your party. We add an 18% service charge to help provide a living wage and equalize wages among our staff. This isn't a gratuity and is considered income that we fully distribute. We don't expect additional gratuity, thus no tip line on the final check. I'm glad you enjoyed your starters. We were unaware of your dissatisfaction with your entrees, had we known, we would have tried to fix or remake those dishes. We've taken your review as a learning opportunity for our entire staff.

    1. Chicken live mousse still has minor odor, but its texture is perfect. 2. For the beef tartare, it would be better if the beef can be grounded with more granularity; it shall produce more flavor I believe. 3. The chocolate soufflé is great, but it'll be better to reduce the height. The top half was perfect, with its moisture, texture, taste, and smell. But for the bottom half, with the excessive liquid including water and hot chocolate, it became muddy and less attractive compared to the top half. 4. It would be more considerate to design a different side for the braised short rib. It tastes extremely rich and oily, hence balancing it with a few pieces of radish/cucumber will definitely make it tastes more "comfortable". 5. The service was impeccably perfect.

This place has great food with a lot of care put into its preparation but isn't worth the extreme price-point. I've had better service at an interstate-side IHOP than what was offered by Pasjoli and cheaper meals from restaurants with two Micheline stars. Our waitress managed to do such a poor job that she may as well have taken the sumptuous duck, thrown it on the ground and stepped on it. At least then the night might have been worth the bill plus the mandatory "service charge". Uninspired faux-fine dining.

Saw this place on social media and was drawn in. Disappointed by the food and value. $130 steak was not worth it. I’ve head better steaks all over the city for far less. Meat was neither tender nor tasty. The gratin dauphinois was Al Dente, which is not the cooking reference I would use for such a dish, but that’s what it was. The cordon bleu fritters were just ok. Saving grace was the duck gnocchi and the $30 by the glass pauillac which was phenomenal. Chocolate soufflé which needed to be pre ordered was also just okay.

One of the finest dining experiences in LA. They have added some canapes to the menu which is great. Tried the gougeres which were so light and wonderful. Salmon and short rib are both great. And the pain perdue for dessert is out-of-this-world. The "secret garden" patio has good overhead heaters so it is comfortable even on a cool night.
