Pasha - NYC Ratings and Reviews
We've been to Pasha many times and they have never failed us. The menu has a large number of appetizers and entrees to pick from. They always have some very nice specials as well. The assorted appetizer plate with 4 daily items is excellent and great for sharing. The bread is excellent as well. Even the olive oil and olives served with the bread is very fresh and tasty, with the olives being not salty at all.
I've had the lamb osso buco which is huge and excellent. Also the lamb patties are flavorful and tender. Unless you are a very big eater, you will probably take home food.
Overall the experience was five star. Excellent service and food. And even when the restaurant is full, it's still not too loud and you can easily talk to people around your table.
What a horrible experience!! We waited 10 minutes before someone met us at the door. In the meantime, a family of 6 people walked out with the kid saying he was hungry and the father saying they would go somewhere else. When we got seated, no one approached our table. 10 minutes went by and I noticed the couple next to us. They had glasses of wine and bread and the lady was saying she had not seen any entrees coming out. At that point I said to my spouse we are leaving. As we walked out there were three other tables just like the one beside us and no food coming out. It was ridiculous!! There were plenty of empty tables so it was not about being too busy. A Friday night and that is how they run a business?!
I've been to Pasha for dinner but never before for lunch. The food is excellent and a tad unusual if you don't normally eat Turkish food...delicious and wonderful spices. Service is wonderful and they knock themselves out to please. I am from Los Angeles and will be back when in NYC!
I read some negative reviews for service and food but that was not our experience. There were 4 of us and everyone enjoyed their prix fixe meals. Service was friendly and punctual. Given the paucity of reasonably priced quality meals in vicinity of Lincoln Center, we will be back.
We went for dinner before a Lincoln Center performance. The pre-theatre dinners are excellent. The portions were generous, there were many selections to choose from and the seasonings of the food were unusual and tasty. Coffee was even included. We had been there a few years ago, and it was better than we remembered. A Lincoln Center area find.
I love Turkish cuisine but I guess I am spoiled by amazing food in Taci Beyti Turkish restaurant in Brooklyn. This dinner was a great disappointment. We have ordered three appetizers and not on them was really good. Pan Fried Dough dish was too salty. Shepherd's salad and Manti were nothing special. Again, can't stop comparing with these amazing dishes in Taci Beyti. As a main course I had Hunkar Begendi and it was a big mistake because it was not tasty at all. I had couple bites and gave it to my friend who was so enthusiastic to have it only until he tried it. :) Then he did not eat it either. So, it was not only me who did not like it. :) Besides food, everything is excellent: ambience, service etc.
Pasha has been a reliable place to go for fresh and appealing Turkish food for many years. My most recent visit (for theatre at Lincoln Center) was fully satisfying as usual. Appetizers are the thing, we shared five between the two of us, for an excellent meal and a great value.
Delicious Turkish food with an unbeatable fixed price menu from 5 PM to 7 PM. The choices are numerous and the portions large. I had the shepard's salad first followed by a stuffed chicken breast and then baklava. The salad was fresh. The chicken breast very flavorful. And the fixed price menu also includes coffee or tea. Great for pre Lincoln Center.
Pasha used to be one of our go-to restaurants for pre-concert dinners and get-togethers with West Side friends in the Lincoln Center Area. It's a beautiful restaurant--the most beautiful Turkish restaurant I now. In the last few years, however, the food has--with a few exceptions, such as the sliced lamb with yoghurt--has been generally bland and undistinguished (I remember the hunkar begendi fondly, but this time it was as tasteless as the stuffed chicken breast I was served). Service has also been unpredictable on our recent visits: although concertgoers' needs to be out by a certain time are always respected, during non-Lincoln Center hours (at least in the evenings, when we've gone there), it's anyone's guess when a server will show up to take your order or how soon the server--who may be one of three people--will return after the order has arrived. On the other hand, on the last three occasions our main courses arrived so fast that we barely had time to finish our appetizers. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, but the scattershot service and generally mediocre food now discourage us from using Pasha as a Lincoln Center choice.
Pasha is such a pleasant neighborhood restaurant. We always love to take friends in from out of town because the food is good, the bar is good, the place quite lovely and the waiters, many of who know the cuisine intimately are elegant, informed and pleasant.
I always enjoy the food at Pasha, and have always found the service to be very nice as well. Our last visit made a bad impression regarding the service. Our waiter seemed like doing his job was an annoying chore and he was not very attentive. I will still come back, but am a bit more wary about recommending this restaurant to friends or to bring friends who've never been there.
I was surprised that the restaurant was so UNCROWDED, but perhaps this is the situation with Fridays in NY City in the summer. The Price fixe menu was great value and great food choices as well. Service was attentive but not so much so as to disturb or rush three couples who had not been together in over 20 years. I would go back to Pasha again anytime.
