Paschal's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It was our first visit, date night. They have complimentary valet parking. We had reservations and were seated quickly. Our waitress, Jackie, told us all about the history of the restaurant. She was amazing. She helped us decide on what to eat and even brought a new side when the candied yams were just a little too sweet for us. Overall a great experience.
I visited the restaurant after a co-worker made the recommendation. My husband and I placed our orders. We waited on the appetizer; however, 15 to 20 minutes later the waitress told us they were out of that particular appetizer. Overall, the food was good but the yams were a bit too sweet. Not sure, if I would visit the establishment again...
I was visiting family in Atlanta & this was the second time I’ve been to this restaurant. I gave it 3 stars because of our server Jacquelyn. She was really friendly & had a sparkling personality. The food, however, was decent, but took forever to get. We waited over half an hour. The restaurant was not busy, so I didn’t understand the delay. The bar was lacking on variety & options, which is too bad since it is a large bar & they have potential for greatness.
Paschal’s was a beautiful restaurant. The service throughout my visit was very slow. The restaurant wasn’t packed during our dinner. I was there with my wife & mother.
My mother had Fried Catfish with Blackeyed Peas & Mac and Cheese. My wife Rosemary Chicken with Yams & Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. I had the Fried Chicken with Sautéed Green Beans & Cheddar Cheese Grits.
Everyone was satisfied with the meal. The sautéed green beans were a little disappointing. They were covered with some garlic butter type powder instead of being sautéed in butter, olive oil and/or garlic and onions.
This was my second visit Paschal’s. My Family left the lunch up to me. I suggested to visit Paschal for our lunch. My brother-in-Law were so impressed with the quality customer service. I made reservations with special accommodations with seating for a wheelchair. The waitress met us at the front service desk greeting us straight to the designated area right away. My family and I enjoyed our food and quality customer service. My family of four went above and beyond for our waitress leaving her a Bless tip. We will visit Paschals every time we visit Atlanta. Being in the Historic scene of MLK was astonishing.
The service wasn't up to par that day. The waitress didn't offer any corn bread, she could've checked on our table more frequently, and the restaurant had nasty gnats flying around us when our deserts were served. The restaurant seemed to be short staffed also.
The food was really good but the service was horrible. It took a minimum of 15min between every request to get any service, even for a glass of water. We were there way too long because we wouldn’t get served for drinks or anything in a timely manner. When we paid the tab a woman in our group had to help the waiter run the charge machine. Although the food was good, I wouldn’t say it was worth the bad service.
While on Open Table, I chose Paschal's based on being the highest rated restaurant available at the time I wanted. That night I left Paschal's a huge fan of the cajun wings, the fried chicken, and the pecan pie! Most importantly, our server Jackie was fun, attentive and every recommendation she gave our table was spot on! A night with friends could not have been anymore fun - thank you Paschal's and thank you Jackie.
My first time dining at Paschal's and will definitely not be my last! I had a special night planned with dear friends and I wanted to choose a restaurant near to Morehouse College because we had tickets after dinner to see a performance of The Nutcracker. I did some research of venues in the area and found Paschal's to be a perfect spot. I made our reservations for 5:30pm and arrived around 15 mins before my friends. The hostess was so pleasant she checked me in and suggested I sit at the bar until they arrived. I was immediately impressed with the decor and ambiance - the walls were adorned with photographs of great leaders of the Civil Rights movement. Just everything about the restaurant spoke to a clientele of ladies and gentlemen!
I had a drink at the bar and my friends arrived and we were escorted to our table - a booth, very comfortable, and the area around us was busy but still quiet enough to hold conversation. Our waiter came to the table immediately and where do I begin! He was outstanding the entire night - professional, patient, and friendly. He offered recommendations, and continued to check if we needed anything. I would like to make sure he is recognized for his service. My receipt has listed " server 1178 Barshea" I'm not sure if that is a first or last name!
We ordered drinks to start, did not order appetizers although there were so many good choices. My friends ordered the slow cooked ribs, one ordered seafood pasta, and I had the catfish etoufee which was amazing and perfect portion. All our entrees included a choice of two sides. I had the collard greens and mac n'cheese. We had dessert - our server suggested the strawberry shortcake which I'm normally not a fan but it was so creamy and fresh!
My friends were so happy with my choice and that meant everything! Loved Paschal's, our service, and will be back!
My family and I like to attend for Thanksgiving every year. We were scheduled for 1 p.m as another family also. The seating was a little long and the hostess asked how many was in my party like 5 times. The dessert table is usually great, what turned me off this year were the donuts. Who eats donuts for dessert? I appreciated the addition of the breakfast bar to the buffet and my server was very nice and attentive.
Decided to go to Paschal’s restaurant to meet with a friend. The history associated with Paschal’s is great and I wanted to try an Atlanta landmark, not a chain restaurant. We ordered our food, my Dad started with the gumbo which he thoroughly enjoyed and then the catfish ettouffe. He stated that it was remarkable and the shrimp on top of the catfish were large. I initially ordered the shrimp and grits. The gravy was delicious, but the grits were soupy and they quickly whisked then away and replaced it with fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and greens. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMBINATION. I would love to return during my next trip in January and try the shrimp and grits again. I highly recommend this restaurant. Cammy was a great server and all of the staff were professional and wanted make sure that we were pleased with our food and service. Please support this restaurant!!’
We were visiting the Atlanta area for a conference. We chose Paschal's for some "Southern Comfort Food" and it didn't disappoint! Loved the fried chicken and catfish and the sides were amazing...and definitely not what we can get where I live. Our waiter, Shawn, was great, fun, talkative, paid attention to when we needed him and when we needed to be left alone. I will be back next time I'm in Atlanta!
Terrible! Place was dirty. Service was awful. They ran out of their chicken. The chicken!! It’s the signature item on the menu. There were 9 people in my party and they brought out 2 dishes that were ready. The others had to wait 25 minutes for their food to be ready. Reservation was at 7:30, we didn’t sit until 8:10. Hot mess
I no longer wish to receive emails. helenk ================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================
I ordered their famous fried chicken, yams, and mac and cheese. The chicken was just okay, although, you get three big pieces. The sides were excellent though. We also had some cocktails which were smaller than normal but delicious. The appetizer was fried green tomatoes and the dipping sauce was great. It's very quiet and we enjoyed the live music.
We had an amazing time at Paschal’s! You must try the fried green tomatoes and the fried chicken was out of this world. Jackie was our server and she provided great service. She shared the history of Paschal’s and took us on a tour to view all of the historical photos. Amazing meal and a must try when you are in Atlanta!
