Manager did accommodate with drinks and food for two for the bad first time experience.
First time dining at Paschal’s. Appreciated the couple Gary valet. We were seated pretty quickly. Christian was our server and he did a top notch job. The tea was very sweet and our glasses were never too empty. I had the blackened catfish etouffee which had a great sauce with shrimp on top. Cheddar grits as a side and the cornbread. It was delicious, well seasoned and I used the cornbread to enjoy the last bit of sauce left on my plate. I will definitely be recommending and coming back myself.
Took forever for food to come. Two of the three meals came and one guest had to sit and watch us eat. Greens were cold. Manager took 45mins just to come address the situation. several tables wanted to speak to manager about service.
My family and I celebrated my niece birthday Sunday and we heard so many great things about Paschal's Restaurant so we decided to celebrate there. We drove to Atlanta, Ga from Augusta, GA. I made reservations a day prior to our arrival for that reason we did not have any problems getting seated. Our server (Steve or Steven) was mainly our problem. Since it was my family and I first time there, I asked Steve about the history of the restaurant. He did not know very much and mentioned that I could use google. He provided very slow service. We had to ask 4 times for water. Our food came out about 50 minutes after we ordered and only half of our party food came out. The remaining people had to wait an additional 30 minutes. One of my family member order was wrong and he let us know that it was because of his error and he apologized for it. My fried chicken was so greasy, there was grease in my plate. We ordered dessert (peach cobbler and ice cream) our server Steve told us they the kitchen staff may not make it because the restaurant was closing soon. I reminded him that we ordered our dessert at the same time we ordered our dinner. Steve did not remove our empty plates from the table at all. We eventually complained to a manager name Craig. Craig took very good care of us. He apologized for Steve and removed our empty plates. He was very professional and friendly. I really want to visit the restaurant again because of the great food and service my friends had. I just hope that if I do come back, we have better service. Craig made sure we had our peach cobbler and it was delicious!
While I did not enjoy this experience at Paschal's--Famous Chicken was dry, which was very disappointing & my fiancé steak wasn't good (we actually gave it away to a homeless guy who was more than happy to accept!). However, our first time visiting Paschal's the food was amazing--we both ordered the NY Strip that essentially melted in our mouth! Only because of my first experience am I still willing to give Paschal's a good rating, but I hope this was just a fluke. Hopefully, third times a charm! We'll be back. :)
Great soul food restaurant!
Overall the atmosphere and the food was very good. Our waiter could of been more attentive. Had to go find him twice,
My first time at the establishment was wonderful. I came for Sunday brunch over a business meeting and loved it. The server was great, the mimosas were amazing, and the food was delicious. The second time I came to the establishment was for Sunday dinner with my entire family. Upon entering I was greeted by some pleasant women who I told about my reservation. As I had came early they said they would try and get me seated as soon as possible. We were escorted to the table and our server was dry, unenthusiastic, and was ready to go home. The demeanor of him said he had a long day. They had run out of all the hot menu items. I’m not in a hurry to go back the server put a bad taste in my mouth.
Over all it was decent. The food was ok, not great. The servers were a little slow not to be busy. We had to keep asking for refills. The Mac and Cheese was $4.00 and an absolute epic fail!!!!!! I was not impressed, but I am willing to give it another chance.
Was not good at all
The place is really nice and the valet was great. First, the waiter seem like he didn’t wanna be there. It took forever to get my drink and the food took even longer. The food was good, but the waiter was not attentive at all. Once we finished our meal, the dirty dishes stayed on the table and I had to push the dirty dishes aside to eat my dessert. Overall the food was good, but the service was terrible. I want be going back!
The service and food was good. I would recommend to all my friends.
The wait wasn't long. Our waitress was new and pretty good, the food was just ok, and the drinks were horrible.
It took a hour to get our drinks from the bar. While waiting we did not receive any water. When our food came it was cold.
Service was not bad... it was NON-EXISTENT.
I do not recommend this restaurant if you expect your order to be taken and food being served in a timely manner.
Service was horrible, food was ok. The food may have been better if we were not exhausted from the wait. We just wanted to leave by the time the food came.
Reservations honored on time. Server was prompt and everyone loved their dinners. We will be back.
We were seated quickly but the booth seat should be replaced as we felt as if we were sitting in a hole. Our waiter Marshawn, where do I start? He came to our table as if we bothered him to be there, no greeting, "what would you like to drink"?, he brought my husband's drink but he took so long to bring muy drink until the bartender started to bring it. We asked for water, after 10mins it arrived with something floating in both glasses. He took them away but NEVER brought a replacements. My husband ordered soup another man brought it out without a spoon. My husband asked our waiter for a spoon, he spent more time examing the bowl than getting what we needed. He wouldn't have asked for one if there was one. No refills were asked for our drinks, no attention to our table. My husband said we will never return after that experience.
The hostage sat us at round tables put together for a party of eight, then when asked can we have two square tables put together instead; I was told by the hostess they had other parties coming even though my party was first. I felt that was very unprofessional. It took too long for the food to come out, when it did it was room temperature & orders were wrong. The drinks were a little on the pricey side.
I was visiting Atlanta on Friday evening for the first time and decided to try this place. Consequently, i wish I had chosen somewhere else because I received poor service and the hostess was rude and lied about not having a booth available by stating “they’re reserved” uhmm but I had reservations too. I then kindly asked the server, who moved us to a booth after ignoring me for 10 minutes. The food was less than ok. Hostess just had an attitude for no reason! I continued to be kind and used my manners at all times while I was there, but I do not recommend this place to anyone especially if it’s your first time in Atlanta. Their drinks are way over priced too!
Great dining experience! The food and service was outstanding. Learned about black history in Atlanta while dining which added to the meal. Will definitely visit on my next trip to town.
I had a party of 15. Paschal's provided a nice and quiet area to host everyone away from the main dining area. Our waiter did great to serve so many people alone. Food was hot and delicious. Cocktails had great presentations and tasted well.
Great food. Great service and great atmosphere!
May God bless the hands that prepared the food. The food was wonderful. The server was polite and attentive. I wish the bathroom was cleaner and stocked. Other than that I will definately visit again.
It was a great atmosphere.
Charlie was our waitress and she was very attentive. We only had four people in our party, but I didn't feel slighted when she gained a party of about 16. Our food was hot, delicious, and filling. Coming from Houston, the no refill policy on lemonade was a bit diffferent, but we managed. My best friend and I had the catfish entree, my son had the old fashioned fried chicken sandwich, and my daughter ordered the kid's cheesburger. The pictures on the wall were great conversation pieces too! Great food! Great atmosphere! Overall, great place!!
Great dinner before an evening at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
The service was excellent and so we're our meals. The Catfish Etoufee was absolutely delicious! Our waitress was extremely attentive and had a great personality. Can't wait to go back again!
It was our first visit, date night. They have complimentary valet parking. We had reservations and were seated quickly. Our waitress, Jackie, told us all about the history of the restaurant. She was amazing. She helped us decide on what to eat and even brought a new side when the candied yams were just a little too sweet for us. Overall a great experience.
Recently moved to the metro area and remember the original Paschal’s from my youth and college days. Good memories! Was so glad to finally visit the new restaurant and enjoyed it completely. Love the ambiance and the food is outstanding!
Entree was awesome. Service was average.
Ordered bread pudding for dessert and it was cold and probably one of the worse I have ever had.
But I would still go back.
Service horrible. . Waited 20 minutes to be seated. Another 20 minutes to get a glass of water. Unbused tables, liquor liscense not active ,and was serving only wine.
Very young servers.... ineffectual.
Food was ok... just ok. Will never return.
The food was awesome. I had fried chicken, sweet potatoes and collard greens.
My experience is always great. Attentive staff and cozy environment. Great food choices. Our server Camie did a great job.
The friend chicken was really good. Our waitress Jacqueline was great, she was really sweet.
I really enjoyed myself, food was wonderful and so was the service.
Great atmosphere- home feeling -great service- warm and friendly place... For a business or a casual lunch
I visited the restaurant after a co-worker made the recommendation. My husband and I placed our orders. We waited on the appetizer; however, 15 to 20 minutes later the waitress told us they were out of that particular appetizer. Overall, the food was good but the yams were a bit too sweet. Not sure, if I would visit the establishment again...
I was visiting family in Atlanta & this was the second time I’ve been to this restaurant. I gave it 3 stars because of our server Jacquelyn. She was really friendly & had a sparkling personality. The food, however, was decent, but took forever to get. We waited over half an hour. The restaurant was not busy, so I didn’t understand the delay. The bar was lacking on variety & options, which is too bad since it is a large bar & they have potential for greatness.
