The history and decoration of Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement is recognized respected and appreciated. The menu of soul food brings memories of momma's Sunday dinners. We made dinner reservations here for Mother's Day and my graduation weekend for my family that joined me from out of town. Not only did we book through open table but we also got a confirmation via phone and email from Chiquita Gaye the Events ad Catering Sales Manager. Everyone was very excited to dine here and some even remember going to this restaurant as kids. When we got there for our 7:00pm reservations, the parking lot was empty, the doors were locked, and no one was answering the phones... Yet inside we could see the signs for the Mother's Day celebration, and hours of operation the door being from 12-9pm. We walked around the entire building for 30 mins and asked an officer that was stationed outside near a neighboring apartment complex if he knew of anything. Very odd, very unprofessional, and could have ruined our Mother's Day experience but luckily we were able to find another place to dine. If the building was closed or something occurred abruptly causing an extenuating circumstance, this should have been communicated with customers or posted somewhere for notification.

First time attending this restaurant and It was awesome..Went on Easter Sunday and there was a all u can eat buffet...Everything was great including the service..Love the pictures on the wall and the server explained the restaurant purpose and what Martin Luther King did for his protester and his culture…Will put this restaurant on top of my list ..MUST GO BACK

Dinner was great, however there should be no fee for parking. If I’m visiting a restaurant I should be able to pull up and park in the restaurants parking spaces without the pressure of having to pay valet especially when the building is a few foot steps away. Please consider leaving this as an optional choice

I just kept hearing about this restaurant. Oprah raved about it. I finally tried. The fried chicken!!! My lordt! It was so crispy and season to perfection. The yams was exceptional. My friend had the meatloaf and loved it! We will definitely be back. We was 15 mins late. The hostess was so accommodating and still took us. Thank you thank you for everything! I will acknowledge my bias for this restaurant. I’m a complete fan of the food, the space, and the deep history (back story). Having said that, the food is always good and the wait staff is always polite. We made reservations for 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and arrived 15 mins early and was seated right away. Overall a very good experience.

Really great place to dine. We were running late due to traffic, and the restaurant was willing to accommodate us. Best customer service and food. I would recommend them to anyone I know. I will be back for the fried chicken!

My husband and I were in Atlanta visiting for the weekend and decided to stop in before our flight home. The food was great but the service and the wait to be seated made the experience less enjoyable. Our reservation was at 3pm and did not get seated for another 30-40min after we arrived on time. The frustrating part is that there were open tables for us to be seated the waiters and waitresses just seem to be moving really slow to get people seated. I would recommend the restaurant but make sure you don’t have plans that are timed immediately afterwards because you’ll be late.
