Paschal's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Decided to go to Paschal’s restaurant to meet with a friend. The history associated with Paschal’s is great and I wanted to try an Atlanta landmark, not a chain restaurant. We ordered our food, my Dad started with the gumbo which he thoroughly enjoyed and then the catfish ettouffe. He stated that it was remarkable and the shrimp on top of the catfish were large. I initially ordered the shrimp and grits. The gravy was delicious, but the grits were soupy and they quickly whisked then away and replaced it with fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and greens. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMBINATION. I would love to return during my next trip in January and try the shrimp and grits again. I highly recommend this restaurant. Cammy was a great server and all of the staff were professional and wanted make sure that we were pleased with our food and service. Please support this restaurant!!’
We were visiting the Atlanta area for a conference. We chose Paschal's for some "Southern Comfort Food" and it didn't disappoint! Loved the fried chicken and catfish and the sides were amazing...and definitely not what we can get where I live. Our waiter, Shawn, was great, fun, talkative, paid attention to when we needed him and when we needed to be left alone. I will be back next time I'm in Atlanta!
Terrible! Place was dirty. Service was awful. They ran out of their chicken. The chicken!! It’s the signature item on the menu. There were 9 people in my party and they brought out 2 dishes that were ready. The others had to wait 25 minutes for their food to be ready. Reservation was at 7:30, we didn’t sit until 8:10. Hot mess
I no longer wish to receive emails. helenk ================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================
We had an amazing time at Paschal’s! You must try the fried green tomatoes and the fried chicken was out of this world. Jackie was our server and she provided great service. She shared the history of Paschal’s and took us on a tour to view all of the historical photos. Amazing meal and a must try when you are in Atlanta!
The rosemary chicken dinner with collard greens and macaroni and cheese was extremely good but the service was not so much. The waitress brought out the cornbread when my friend and I were almost finished with our dinner. Smh. Usually the bread is brought out before the main course.
I had reservations to accommodate 2 and was still put by the busiest area - by the kitchen. We can see that they needed help because our waitress was too busy to even take our drink order. We ordered the NY strip and southern fried chicken. The steak was too salty! He couldn't finish it. The fried chicken was excellent though! His side order was cheese broccoli and mashed potatoes. they forgot the cheese on the broccoli, so the waitress took it back and it was a while before it came back. The collard greens were too salty as well. I don't know what happen, but the 2 times that I had came here it was superb! This was 3 years ago.
Omg, the best Southern comfort food! Was so impressed with my order, I told several friends immediately who live out of state but will be visiting this year. Waitstaff wad helpful and the food came out quickly and hot. Will make an effort to get back here next time I am in town and miss my mother's cooking, cause this is just as good if not more delicious! Book the table now!
Wonderful flavours of traditional Southern Cuisine - but all of the best quality ingredients. Staff was so kind and welcoming, even though I was the only solo customer in the dining room. They treated me like a local and made some fabulous restaurant recommendations. This place is not to be missed when visiting Atlanta.
My family and I decided to go to Paschal’s for lunch as a part of my mother’s birthday. We were there for 50 min before our food came out. Our server started out good but became annoyed at some point during his work day while we were there and became very short with us. Not one time during our meal did he come by to check on us. When our food came out he asked us in a very sharp tone if we needed anything before he went to the kitchen (the undertone was, tell me now because I don’t plan to go back for anything). Overall, the food was great! However, the time it took for the food to come out and our annoyed waiter, just made our first experience at Paschal’s a fair one.
Bought a 100 dollar gift card with 2 movie tickeys from groupon with ultimate date night groupon. Its only stated that i had to spend $50 to use it. When i received my check i was told that i could only use $25 of my $100 dollar gift card. My check came up to $133.00. It was ny aunts birthday. I asked if i could break the checks up and he said it had to be per party. Then when i showed the groupon to the manager he said he dont know why they would give me a $100 gift card cause the restaurant only has $25 dollar gift cards. So now i have $75 worth of paschal’s gift cards left smh. I woukd have chosen another place because i bought the gift card as a gift.
I wish I could give this review more stars because we came here on a recommendation, but service was less than sub-par/stellar. Made a reservation on open table and was told to list the exact number of our party in notes section (we had 15), but when we checked in the hostess only saw reservation for 7. Our party (this was for a birthday party) was split between two tables, even though the restaurant was not busy (we were able to finish the entire meal with the tables next to us empty - these could have easily been pushed together so our complete bday party could sit together). The children were required to sit together (hostess said it was safer this way), even though there weren’t enough seats at the round table for all the parents to sit with their children. A lady came in asking people for money (stopped at a few tables - each of our two tables as well), but management was quick to usher her outside.
Wait staff forgot portions of our order, handed us dirty plates for appetizers (and disappeared for a while so we couldn’t even bring to their attention), didn’t bring enough silverware, and half the drink items weren’t available. Our server stated that the coke machine has been down for “a while” and the children’s drink options were severely limited.
Got mixed reviews from the party on food (shrimp etoufee was super salty, fried chicken was just “ok”) but my salmon was DELICIOUS! I would def order this if I ever returned.
I think this restaurant might be ok for date night, but I wouldn’t trust for a large party again.
My Husband order the bbq rib and the server came back and said they will not be ready for another 3 hr...it was on 5 pm...pretty disappointed. Then server disappeared for almost 20 min. The price are to high for the food. The fried chicken plate $17 for 3 small a** pieces of chicken and 2 tiny side. Not worth it at all. The pasta was $19 for a 10 oz serving. That's crazy. Never again. Not worth it at all.
I made a reservation but when I arrived I was told there would be a 30min wait. We told the Hostess we will wait for a table at the bar. In the end I think she forgot about us. What saved the experience for me was the bartender, food and Ambience. The bartender who we found out shares a birthday month with my wife. Noticed that we still hadn't been seated after 30-40 min and found us a nice table. From there she was attentive to our needs and made the night out worth while. My ribs we fall of the bone good and I enjoyed the open space of the restaurant.
We picked this restaurant because it was close to the Mercedes Benz stadium. We ended up with early reservations because all the other times were taken - so - call for reservations early. We were coming after a tour of the stadium - which ran long - and I called to let them know we would be a little late and they were very nice about it. The food was really good - big servings.
We were there to celebrate a birthday and had several friends in town to join the festivities. Out of the 10 in our party, only 1 had been to the restaurant before and it was years ago. Once our party arrived we were seated (wish the table was a little larger for such a large party), but we made it work. Our waiter, Tim, was everything! He was completely transparent as it related to any of our requests. He also performed a wonderful rendition of the Happy Birthday song to my sister which is the reason we were celebrating. The most important thing, was the food which was beyond good. Once the appetizers arrived and everyone started digging in, the table was quiet - which is always a good sign. Overall, we truly enjoyed our experience, the ambiance, the food and definitely Tim, our waiter. Thank you for a great experience Paschal's, and please believe I will be returning - sooner than later.
This was the first visit, for my wife and I, since the move from the original location. The new venue has good ambience and is actually beautiful. It is worthy of the tribute it pays to its early patrons (Martin Luther King, Jr. and many other luminaries of Atlanta's great past). We also loved the expanded menu. The fried chicken has always been great but every restaurant needs a wonderful tasteful varied menu and your restaurant has captured that. The catfish etouffee was simply sensational!
I LOVE PASCHALS! This place has a nice, romantic feel to it. The waitress was very kind to us and she made sure that we were comfortable. I also like how they asked us our seating preference. The food was warm, and tasty, the sweet tea with lemonade was PHENOMENAL!
My eyes were clearly bigger than my eyes LOL. Looking at the menu, several things jumped out at me and me, being the YOLO type, ordered it all! The food was really good and my waiter, a young man whose name I didn't catch ☹ was really nice. I'm from out of town (Indiana), but will definitely visit again next time I come to Atlanta!
Our server was personable and knowledgable with respect to the menu & dining recommendations.
The fried chicken did not live up to the hype. The black eye peas were too salty.
Portion size is extremely small for a $16 plate.
Corn bread, is smaller than a rubix cube.
Order placed and food came out in about 5 maybe 10minutes.
Mac & cheese 👍
Mashed potatoes n gravy 👍
Fried chicken was not bad, but it was not worth the money. Overpriced!
They also had plenty of drink specials and the restroom was immaculate.
Good food and service, however a little pricey! Even with that, I still think its worst the visit. If you follow the Civil Movement and places Dr. King..etc held their strategy meetings, Pascal's is mention. Plenty of historical photos throughout the facility.
