Loved the fried chicken meal!

I wanted to like this place but the service was just so lackluster. We were a party of 12 (that included 3 kids) got seated at 6:20 but due to the service, we didn't even leave until 945.
Rather than give a narrative summary, here are some points for the 2 stars:
1. The general manager decides to paint a wall at 7ish so the fumes were heavy throughout the restaurant.
2. The kitchen was behind which caused a delay but we didn't find out until we were complaining about the paint smell.
3. Some of our food was cold when it finally came out.
4.Someone in my party had their check messed up ( added a salad that never came) and when they fixed it was still incorrect.
5.The general manager's demeanor toward the many inconveniences was very lackadaisical.
6. Drinks were missing or wrong.
So yeah...no Paschal's for me. It's saving grace was the food was good but I'll leave the headaches and spotty service to the tourists.
Fantastic food. Fried catfish was perfectly prepared. They had the best cornbread I’ve ever had!
We went during lunch. It wasn’t very busy so we were seated quickly. Our waitress was great and our food was delicious. My daughter and I both had the salmon (blackened), broccoli and macaroni and cheese. I look forward to going again when I’m back in Atlanta.
The food was great, once again. The host and chefs were very welcoming appreciative of us dining with them.
Wow. I was shocked at how HORRIBLE the service was. We were visiting from out of town and wanted to support this establishment especially because of its historical significance. This was a Friday night. Hardly anyone was in the restaurant which we thought was weird. We made a reservation and still had to wait 20 minutes for them to get a table together. But there was nobody there. So we go to the bar to wait with our party. My husband and I asked for a drink from the inattentive bartender. Okay so 15 min later she STILL hadn’t come back with our drinks. We couldn’t even find her! She left for awhile. Like NOBODY was at the bar. We never got our drinks. Our table became ready and we sat down. NOBODY CAME for another 10 minutes. Finally a disheveled server came to get our drink order. We ordered our drinks/water. She disappeared for another 15 minutes!!!! Finally we placed the order and another 30 min later we get our microwaved warmed up food. My husband got a chicken leg that must have been from a baby chicken because it was the tiniest piece of chicken we’ve ever seen in our lives. I have never been to a restaurant this horrible. The service was the worst I’ve ever seen. This is a management problem. This place has potential. It’s so sad they are letting such a historical place drown. So sad.
Train your employees.
Get them new uniforms.
Get new cooks/chefs.
And treat your employees well so they will have pride in their jobs. Because none of them seemed to care less about customer service.
I throughly enjoyed the dinner, ambiance, and service at Paschals. We didn’t know that did a Sunday dinner buffet, but I’m so glad that came and tried it. The soul food buffet was amazing and tasted like something out of my grandmother’s kitchen. The soul food was honestly some of the best that I’ve had in Atlanta. I strongly encourage you to visit.
The food is pretty good; the service wasn't great. The history behind it is really inspiring though. It's something worth trying once.
Paschal’s was a great experience. The wait staff was fantastic, we didn’t want for anything. The food was excellent and the portions were huge. We were just in Atlanta for a conference but I would go back anytime that I’m in Atlanta.
The food was excellent and I loved everything about the ambience. The rich history and significance can’t be beat. However, the service received by the staff was horrible. First off, we made reservations only to have to wait to be seated even though the place was nearly empty. Once we were seated it my family and I awhile to get our drinks ordered and therefore food. What’s worst the appetizers came out the same time as the main course.
Please step up the service being offered, but other than that the food and historical significance alone is worth the visit.
An unfortunate dining experience .... staff was not attentive, failed to inform us the kitchen was closing for the evening, and the food was below average. There are many better restaurants in Atlanta to choose. Skip Paschal’s.
Great atmosphere, customer friendly, good lunch menu options, expedient order processing with accuracy and delivery of hot tasty food.
As always, great food and consistent dinner experience! Food is delicious, tasty, and memorable. Great location and very energetic. Every trip to Atlanta always involves a stop at Paschal's either on Northside Drive or at the airport. The Restaurant Manager stopped by our table to check on our dining experience and reiterated how the Civil Rights movement was started at the original Paschal's restaurant and motel location. The restaurant continues to make history by serving great food in an uplifting environment!
The food was wonderful. The service was very poor. The restaurant was no where near full and with reservations, we were ignored. after waiting nearly 5 minutes my husband walked to the bar and asked if we might be seated. It took a long time for us to place an order, forever for the food to arrive. and the waitress told me she had no more bags for my leftover container while we saw other people leaving with their leftovers in plastic bags. I walked to the bartender and asked if he had a bag and he kindly gave me one from a healthy supply. Disappointing service.
It took an hour to get our drinks and bread brought out to the table. We were going to order appetizers for the table but the waiter was absent. The food was good but it would have been nice to drink some tea and eat some cornbread during our hour wait. If you require large party reservations you should be prepared.
Being a native of Atlanta, I hadn't been in awhile and was looking forward to enjoying some good food. Not sure if sound system was working but there was no music or band playing or anything to add atmosphere to the place. Server was nice but avoided our table after food arrived. No checking in at all and it took 15min to get our check. Food was just OK. Not at all how I remembered. Hopefully this was just an off one time experience. Many people visit the place because of the legacy and it didnt live up to it for me.
Truly awesome! Great way to kick off the holiday season with my family!
Great food and excellent service!
I would give it 5 stars but the coordinator Jackie was not friendly. She didn’t want to accommodate my family after we made reservations for a graduation party
Food was great however service wasn’t good. We were clearly forgotten about and then told the kitchen was closed and couldn’t order a simple side of gravy. It was my Fathers 1st time there and he was visiting from DC. That wasn’t the experience I wanted to give him.
Absolutely loved our experience at Paschal's! Food was flavorful and a good temperature. The ambiance was spot on for an evening affair. Staff was attentive and very pleasant, and helped us out tremendously with our cake needs. I would definitely recommend.
The restaurant is noisy which made conversation difficult. The fried catfish was delicious and cooked to perfection. However the ribs were tasteless and poorly seasoned. The side dishes were small in proportions but tasty. The staff was friendly and attentive. I plan to return again if for nothing more than the catfish which was to die for even though the $25 price seemed high to me.
Nice selection of meals. There's something for everyone. Our server was Jamari who was very polite and accommodating.
The food was great, but for my complimentary desert, the ice cream melted before it got to the table. So when I got the ice cream it was pretty much all liquid. My best friend also received the wrong order. Other than that, no complaints. The ambiance was nice.
As always, the food was great. However, the service was lacking. We sat for quite a while without a server. When he did finally come to the table, he appeared rushed, & would stay away for extended periods of time. One person in my party never received the side to their meal. After asking for it 3 times, we finally received it in a to- go container... because everyone was done eating.
Our family truly enjoyed having Thanksgiving dinner with Paschal’s! The atmosphere was amazing from the live band, attentive staff and award winning delicious food. Highly recommend this traditional buffet service and will not only be back next year but any other time we are in Atlanta most definitely will patronize Paschal’s!!!
My mother and I ate at here for Thanksgiving and the food was EXCELLENT😄. Best Thanksgiving meal I ever had in my life. They also had a live jazz band to entertain the people while eating who were fantastic! The food was seasoned to perfection and had a great variety of food from fried turkey, maple ham, fried chicken, mac and cheese, shrimp cocktail, crawfish, oysters, collard greens, cornbread, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes with giblet gravy, yams, cabbage, and a lot of dessert! I highly recommend this place for Thanksgiving buffet-you won't be disappointed!
Went there for Thanksgiving dinner. Great experience. Great food. No complaints.
Great Thanksgiving Day brunch. Excellent selection and quality.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was a little slow but probably because of thanksgiving. All of the staff were incredibly courteous and friendly. Food was great! Would definitely go back!!
Thanksgiving!! What a great meal and overall fantastic locale
Service was exceptional, I truly appreciate the whole resturant staff going out of their way for my mom's birthday.
I love this place! I actually had my daughter’s college graduation dinner upstairs 2 years ago. But on the 21st, it was my mom’s birthday and it took a very long time to get our food.
The service was horrible that night. There was another big event going on and that’s where the staff focused. We lost our waitress several times throughout the evening. The fried chicken is good and the yams are as well. Mac and cheese was avg and not baked. I would return again to give them another shot.
Overall food was good my daughters salmon was dry and small and service was alittle slow. But a beautiful place
Food was good. Waiter wasn’t very attentive to our needs. Pretty much had to track him down and the place wasn’t very busy. Peach cobbler and fried chicken were excellent
My party was downsized to a party of two and we still got seated and our waitress and the hostess was amazing.
Cousin was in town for a visit
The service was horrible, took almost 25 minutes just to get our water. The waiter was no help. After about 45 min to hour of waiting for our food it was cold. The waiter never came back to apologize or even check on us to see if we were okay. All around horrible experience. I will never go back nor will i recommend this place to anyone
I really enjoyed myself the waiter was very professional and the food was excellent
