Founded in 1989 by Jeremy Mogford, Parsonage Grill is a Cotswold-esque bolthole located within the 5 star 17th century Old Parsonage Hotel in central Oxford on Banbury Road.

Famous for its intimate, bohemian, clubby atmosphere, the Parsonage Grill and its private dining space, the ‘Pike Room’, displays a carefully curated collection of eclectic oil paintings, original stone fireplaces, leaded light windows and a Bloomsbury club ambience throughout. Outside, inspired by the legendary Jardin Majorelle, created by Yves Saint Laurent in Marrakech, a beautiful walled terrace sits dappled in the sun. This newly revitalised space seamlessly blends traditional British elegance with the vibrant energy of North Africa.

Delightful setting the garden. Good menu. Shame the vegetables didn’t arrive until chased. Otherwise service good.

Lovely restaurant, no real bad points , just starter was odd , terrine was ok but the puff rind things were stale and soft, dish was difficult to eat ,with out a cracker or bread etc ..but that was only real thing ..service was good .

The patio is always beautiful in the summer. Food was lovely as ever and the service very attentive.

Outstanding venue. Really wonderful and very Oxford. We went on a perfect summer night and sat in the courtyard. Highly recommend it. On thursdays and sundays, the church bells add to the evening :).

Lovely to meet my friend but very disappointing food apart from the sandwiches. We both felt that it was overpriced in comparison with other similar teas. The cakes were tiny and two of them really quite inedible ( sponge and choux) The staff were charming but fairly pressed and therefore inattentive. A great disappointment after looking forward to this birthday treat. I would certainly not recommend.

Disappointing. Three of us had a reservation for Lunch. From the moment we arrived, getting any service or attention was a struggle. We had to ask to be seated (from the bar)...we had to ask to order....we had to ask to look at the desert menu. Really not good enough. There were tables outside & inside. Way too few servers. One colleague ordered the chicken Schnitzel, which was dry & tough. Overall, this place relies on its reputation but fails to deliver. At the end of our meal it was bawling to see that a 13% service charge was added automatically !
