What Insiders Are Saying
A semi-upscale and crowd-pleasing Italian spot in the middle of Dirty 6th.
Food was amazing!! We would definitely go back again.
Always a great meal with great service! Doesn't get better than Parkside. Menu and food is outstanding. Chef Shawn Cirkiel's vision is second to none.
No IPAs despite one listed on menu. Fries, but no malt vinegar. Oysters took forever - blamed the computer (lame).
Grossly overpriced for the small portion size (excpt the grilled asparagus, but then they were over cooked).
Food was mostly bland, and whatever wasn’t bland had terrible spice choices, who puts all spice w/beef tartare?
Great happy hour place! Everything was 1/2 off including drinks. Must order: salmon with ancient grains and the Mellon Head drink.
On this most recent of many visits the wait staff and wait service were a little out to lunch. And some of our oysters were very small. But everything was tasty, as always.
Excellent service! Our waitress was outstanding as was our bartender. Food was unique and excellent! Drinks were also superior. Thanks!
Great menu and wine list in a very casual environment. A hidden gem! Loved it!
Perfect place to meet some friends or family or colleagues on any night but especially a Wednesday night. Great happy hour and very good food. Enjoy.
Fish was farmed, not wild. And a bit pricey for the quality.
Waiter was good and attentive but other than that a let down. Been awhile since we had been to Parkside and it will be awhile before we go back- sad to say. Was so good when it first opened its doors.
The food was as good as advertised. The interior is ridiculously dated. The music (with about 10 diners present at 6pm on a dead Saturday) was an odd mixture of rap and hip-hop--some of it full of gangster-y themes. Don't need any "b**ches" served with my $26 cod.
,The food and service was great, fourth time I’ve brought large party from out of town and everyone loved it!
Parkside has become an old favorite of ours! Ambiance , service and food are consistently excellent! We especially like to eat here before we go to Esther’s Follies. It is just a short walk down the street to make the 8:00 show!
Awesome Little place to eat. Food and drinks were really good.
The chef was amazing!! Chef Aaron is the best chef in Austin!
Great happy hour from 5 - 6 everyday. Everything on the menu is half price. The oysters were so sweet and fresh. Cait took very good care of us. She is knowledgeable about the wines and the menu options. Parkside has become one of our go to restaurants when we are in Austin.
We were a party of 8x 40 somethings. There was a party of 20ish very loud rowdy young men in the same room separated by a cloth. They were in the men’s room doing blow all night and were overserved as many of them could barely walk by the end of the night. Took 45 minutes to get our food order in and not because we weren’t ready. We sat down with drinks in hand. Server was really friendly and nice. Food took an hour or so to come. 28 dollars for a quarter chicken breast and 10 dollars for family style sides that fed 1-2 ppl. Very disappointing as it’s not fine dining but it’s dirty 6th so 🤷🏻♂️ Asked for the manager... didn’t seem to have much experience in fine dining.
Great restaurant, food and service. The night we were there, there were a couple of big parties, and it was so loud that we couldn't carry on a conversation. Certainly appreciate that everyone's trying to have a good time, and it would be great to have parties accommodated in a reasonable setting for all. We will try again - we've enjoyed it previously.

Service by Jordan was excellent. Food and drinks were great. The only issue was that we had a reservation but still waited well over half an hour for a table. We only had three people in our party and saw several people come in after us and seated before us. This would have not been as irritating if the host communicated better, offered for us to wait at the bar, etc.
They forgot 2 sides and the oysters were past their prime
Cool building, decor and ambiance but overpriced for the quality of the food and the serving sizes. Not in the best of locations but walking distance to local bars and music.
Enjoyed the pork chop and salmon was very good. A little bit too loud.
Great food and service! We never had to wait to ask for anything we needed.
The Oyster platter and Steak tartare were both incredible. My table ordered the strip steak, porkchop, and salmon and all three were terrific but somewhat modest portions. We also ordered the asparagus to share and it was excellent.
It was very expensive, but the quality was there. If you have the money to spend on a meal like this, Parkside is a great option.
Went for Happy Hour when entire menu was 1/2 price. Even so it felt pricey, but this was our first meal in Austin where prices are high. We had fun, the brick walls added a cool vibe. Very laid back & funky.
Had a Caesar salad, which had to go back as there were croutons when I requested it gluten free. It was good, not memorable. Had the grilled asparagus which was terrific! Also split the chilled raw seafood plate w/ 3 shrimp, a shot glass of ceviche (not GF) & 6 oysters. All fresh & delicious.
Enjoyed a Cab & TX Whiskey. The glass of wine was an avg pour & normal price was $16 (!).
Young crowd - like all of Austin. Behind the Westin on 6th St. Would return but only for Happy Hour prices
Parkside is a fun place and probably the best restaurant on dirty 6 street. It gets very crowded and that impacts the service. We had 3 of our main dishes delivered on time but the fourth took at least 30 minutes more to come out. The food was great and presented nicely on the plate. I would highly recommend Parkside as long as you know that the restaurant is probably going to be very active, loud and pricey.
Parkside never disappoints!
Awful experience beginning to end. First of all I called twice days prior to ensure we could reserve seating in the bar since it was for a party — I never got a call back. Once we got there, place was practically empty (and wreaked of fish) but they didn’t want to seat us since our whole party wasn’t there. I told her that’s why we asked to be in the bar. The hostess was so rude and reluctantly seated us. Then we ordered drinks and it took 25 minutes to get our first drink. (One of our friends went up to the bar and was served in 2 minutes). Then the food was just meh. We left as soon as everyone got there. Horrible service, mean hostess, long wait for no reason and bad food. Will not go back.
The best service - thank you for making it such a memorable celebration!
We had a group of 6 for our reservation. They initially tried to cram us into a table that was made for a group of 4 and when we asked for more room, they were very rude. The food portions are extremely small, but most of the dishes were very tasty. Drinks took a long time to be served and all of the sides came out after we finished the entire meal. To which we were told “they can be desert”. Overall a terrible experience and extremely overpriced. Wouldn’t go back.
Great restaurant in the heart of 6th St.
I wish I could give six stars! Our party of 8 on Sunday evening were celebrating the completion of the MS150 and had a fantastic time! Everyone loved the food, wine and cocktails, looked after by Sarah, and with the 50% early bird discount, we had a memorable evening! Thank you Parkside!
Great experience, really good food, and ambiance. The staff took great care of us and assured we had a great time.
We were sat in the back near the bathrooms. The area is darker than one would expect. The candle light would have been helpful if the candle could stay lit.
The service was par for the area and the food was “okay”. The New York steak was cooked adequately and the grilled fennel was interesting but nothing exceptional. Sides were expensive and really didn’t live up to the hype. A medium cooked burger was child sized and charcoaled to death fries were over cooked and dry.
Overall. Not our best Austin meal.
Overpriced with very small portions, the decor is average. The bartender charged me for a 15yrs single malt after serving me a 12 yrs. No mistake because the bar was empty. The sides to share are a joke. Food is good, but if you are looking for more, go to some other place for the same price.
Great food - terrible service. Bar felt like they resented serving us. Waited almost 30 minutes past reservation to be seated. Martinis were ridiculously delayed and came out warm. No share plates provided before appetizers. Food took a long time to arrive. Nice place, nice product, but obviously struggling.
Great value. Very good service. Staff was creative in dealing with a larger party than originally planned. We will consistently bring out of town visitors to this 6th street treasure.
We visited this past weekend. It had a cool vibe and was in a great location.
Great happy hour. French fries were great.
Our waiter was very attentive and helpful at making choices. More fresh options would have been nice.
