The flavors were very well conceived for our entrees and desserts. There were a few minor issues, which our server promptly remedied. The noise level on a Friday night was very high. Overall we enjoyed the experience and meal.
Oysters, Wine, Beer, Salmon. All excellent, with friendly attentive service.
Food was delicious. Services was excellent.
Our waiter was good, but some of the other service elements were missing. They didn’t have small plates available for our starters, we had to ask for steak knives for our steak, and on top of that, my medium steak was cold when it arrived.
Savory food and incredible service. Definitely going to make a trip back soon.
It’s New Year’s Eve. They are doing a $70/person pre fix menu. Reservation only and no wait. Theoretically this should be easier than a normal night. It was not. It took over 2 hours to get all our courses. Both adjacent tables to us complained about the wait and they were seated well after us. Unfortunately the food wasn’t good once it arrived. The nuts on the salad were burned beyond recognition (I think they were going for “roasted”. The grouper was raw and probably not safe to eat...so we didn’t. The side dish was “field peas” which tasted like a bowl of canned black eyed peas. The deserts were good! Yay.
The waitress was great and I always feel bad for the front of the house when the back is sucking it up.
I would not recommend.
Didn't seat us for 35 minutes. Was unclear whether we had a table originally or they weren't prepared at all. Walked out.
Came for New Years (obviously with a reservation) and didn’t end up getting seated for 2 HOURS - finally sitting down around 10:30 when we had an 8:15 reservation! We ended up having to cancel our after dinner plans & ring jn the new year on their patio.
The restaurant graciously gave us a couple bottles of champagne for the wait but it was a little ridiculous that we had to wait that long. When booking it is called out that reservations are only allotted 1.5 hours... yet they let the table before us sit there for 1.5 hours before even ordering.
I’ve been here a few times and usually it is great but this experience was HORRIBLE. Beyond the wait, some of the food was cold & honestly underwhelming.
It was a typical overpriced, small portioned good New Years eve dinner, that in typical last minute fashion we were told 24 hours before would no longer be an order off the standard menu, and backed into the price fix. Food was good, but not outstanding.
Olivia was our server and she made our experience phenomenal. The food was great and the cocktails were sublime. One of our new favorite places!
We had the absolute BEST service from Kate!! We wanted to take her with us :) The food was some of the BEST we have ever had. Our group doesn’t recommend restaurants that we aren’t absolutely impressed with... this one is top notch and we highly recommend it!!
Nothing like our past visits, left a lot to be desired.
I appreciated the wait staff’s recommendation for our meal and the flexibility in helping us move tables.
Checked in with the host about 5 minutes before our reservation. He told us that they were getting our table ready and that we’d be seated soon. There were several empty tables available, just needing to be refreshed. Over the next 20 minutes we watched several parties come in and be seated, watched the host talks pictures for a party, etc (you get the picture). When asked how much longer it would be, the host repeated the same line. They finally seat us at a table we’ve been looking at since arrival. We’re never given an excuse. We kindly exit. They need to get it together. I hosted an event here a few years ago with seemingly similar disorganized and slow service. Seems like nothing has changed
We went for sentimental reasons. The food was mediocre, the server was distracted, and there was an extremely loud table (with a drunk woman who kept shouting) that managers did not address
Just bad all the way around. It took nearly 2 hours to get cold food. Food was bad. Service was bad. This is a place to avoid at all costs. Good news is management was apologetic about overall the bad experience.
Took my mother to dinner on her visit. We ordered wine but they had run out of our two first choices and ended up with the Red Blend which to me tasted watered down and cheap. The venue was much too noisy to have a conversation. The salmon was crispy on the outside but mushy on the inside and the cheeseburger was salty. I do recommend the acorn and squash soup which I found tasty. My overall feeling was that I could have saved the 160 Dlls spent and made my mom a better dinner at home.
Waitress was beyond useless - totally not helpful. She recommended things that were not available. Very poor service
Food was just ok. 1 of the types of oysters was great. The burger wasn’t anything to rave about. The apple pie dessert was great. But the service was horrendous. They weren’t very busy and our service terrible. Wouldn’t go back
Meeting old friends for the great 1/2 off the whole menu happy hour!
Highly recommend going on a Wednesday for all the oyster fans out there. Half-off and a variety of deliciousness. Oh, and they will pair them with bubbles for half-off as well! Food is excellent otherwise and this is a nice refuge downtown.
Poor service all around
Poor food quality
I'll never be back
Oysters were fishy, the food that did come out took 2 hours, but two entrees didn't make it to the table before we had to leave for our show. I could hardly hear the people at the table with me, and when the manager spoke with us, he did not identify himself as the manager, nor was he very helpful or apologetic.
Terrible restaurant. The steak they promote was about a 4 oz with no flavor. Wouldn’t go back if it was free.
We arrived while happy hour was still on. Wow everything 1/2 price
Food was under seasoned Salad had very little flavor. Portions were small for the price and ambiance, etc
Superb meal courtesy of Parkside. Interesting cocktails and delicious dinner with fresh and delicious seafood and impeccable service. Definitely a venue I would wish to return to.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. I’ve been coming here for many years and the food is just as good as when it opened. The scallops in particular are delicious. And they always have gluten free options too. Big fan of Parkside!
Food was killer, the service was not. Three mistake by the server not ringing in orders until asked about them after we waited. Not one manager table touch or single acknowledgement of mistakes made. But the scallops were amazing.
Very energetic atmosphere. Food would be considered fair in value. Wine taste amazing and the service was outstanding! To rate our experience we give a fair rating.
When we sre in Austin Parkside is a must go to restaurant.
Sadly, the food at Parkside was pretty ordinary $66 for the "Grand Platter", a mix of raw shell fish was simply not worth the price. I have paid more for such a dish, but the contents have merited the price; here it did not. The dozen oysters were no larger than mussels and there was more ice than shellfish. Other than that, the calamari were over-cooked. Salmon was fine, as was the steak.
Service was ok.
Honestly, the food was pretty poor, especially for a $180 meal (with tip). The calamari was on par with food I have eaten at chain restaurants, the crab fritters weren't available, the steak was average, and the fish did not impress over what I make at home. The bass from the raw bar was good though.
The service was polite if unexceptionable. I tipped 20%.
They did serve my wife a dessert since it was her birthday, but she didn't think that was great either.
We won't be back since we can spend that amount of money and get amazing food all over town.
This restaurant was incredible. Chris, our server, was excellent, all of his recommendations were on point. We were treated like rockstars as we celebrated our anniversary at Parkside. We will be back
This was a pleasant dining experience in an otherwise rowdy neighborhood. We felt like the adults at the party.
The best happy hour with great, very fast and kind service and fresh seafood! Loved it, we will be back!
The restaurant is great and the staff wonderful. Need some grilled seafood options.
Got the grand platter and it was beautiful 😍🤤🥵 everything was delicious and aesthetically pleasing! *chef kiss*
Overpriced, bad food. Slimy caesar salad that costs $24. A watery half bottle of wine for $34. Will not be returning.
Service was great. Food interesting and tasty. Good calamari. Pork chop great
