A solid North Beach brunch option, which, get this: actually takes reservations. Don't sleep on Park Tavern.
We thought that our food was just a bit too oily. That is, cooked with an over abundance of pan oil. My trout and my husbands scallops were sopping in oil. When you order fish you are generally wishing for something in the realm of health. I got sick that night but I won’t go into the details. It was the oil and richness that I was trying to avoid. The sound situation is not intimate and much too loud to hear a conversation across the table.
However,our waitress was nice and our hostess dropped of complimentary Brussel chips which was very nice. I love the deviled eggs at Park Tavern, they are wonderful.
From start to finish, the service was impeccable. However, we were a bit disappointed with the menu. My daughter's scallop dish was DELICIOUS. However, we feel the rest of the dishes (deviled eggs, jerky, fried lemon w/burrata, pork chop, and trout) were ok, but not for the price point. These main dishes could have been prepared differently to go with the season. The dishes had a heavy flavors, which is more suited for fall rather than for spring going into summer.
We went there for the Marlowe burger. It was nothing special and not worth the price. The service was pleasant.

Restaurant valet decided on their own to park our car overnight. When we were ready to leave no car, no valet and no information. Took 20 min for manager to find where the car was and then 20 more before someone came to unlock the car. Manager had very little information and although pleasant was definitely not equipped to handle the episode we had. Didn’t even offer to comp coffee while it was being sorted out. Been there many times, probably a sign to move on now.

Really great service!! We brought my 3 and 4 year old grandchildren and they really took care of us. Didn't treat us like we had kids with us. While normally I would say don't bring kids, it worked for us. The food was outstanding.

I was referred to The Park Tavern by a coworker and it did not disappoint. The food here (for my brunch) was top notch. The Prawns and Grits were among the best I’ve ever eaten. We were also taken care of very well by our server. My wife and friends look forward to returning here very soon. I’m not sure how to rate the noise level. Does a higher scale marking indicate better or louder? At the very least the noise was generated by happy customers enjoying time with one another — not by loud music that’s impossible to talk over.
Always busy. Always efficient. Always good. I'm glad that it is in the neighborhood.
The grilled polenta cakes with poached eggs is why Park Tavern is a must for brunch, however the request to accommodate a stroller for our reservation was completely ignored and made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The restaurant was so loud that we were shouting across the table. The restaurant needs to make accommodations to absorb the sound ASAP.
We loved the decor and ambiance right when we walked in, rustic chic. We were seated in a comfortable booth like table. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was unique and delicious! We felt it was not over-priced and enjoyed ourselves from start to finish!
Sunday 1/2 price wine is great! Food was good, but you can find comparable quality at lower cost. Enjoyed setting and ambiance
A lovely place for Mother's Day brunch. Been meaning to try it for a while. Found street parking--an SF miracle!
Service was good, food was very nice though a bit stingy. I was surprised no toast or anything came with the scramble. Nothing. Just eggs. Maybe they served smaller portions for Mom's Day? My sis had the burger and fries with an awesome horseradish aioli. My crab benedict was so good, but again, more crab would've been better. Valet parking available. Give it a try.
The dining room was tastefully decorated, and the dinner crowd generated a lively buzz. Everything we ordered, including the poulet noir (takes 30 mins to make), was delightful.
Park Tavern never disappoints it was an exceptional meal. The hardest part of the evening was picking what to eat knowing the quality of everything was so good. Our server was great in timing everything as it came out to our table. Even the hostess was stealth in her handling of some parents of unruly kids running throughout the restaurant. I need to go back soon.
We were a group of 6 and no one had a meal that stood out. My expensive steak frites was ordinary. Service wasn’t terrible but not great either. Very loud!!
Food is a little overpriced. Great service. Good ambiance. Love the design of the place.

Booked a table for our 10th wedding anniversary, after checking with the restaurant in advance that they could accommodate our dietary requests (was assured they could).
The decor and location is great. Unfortunately the experience left a lot to be desired - we were in and out in 50 mins! Poor attention to detail (eg, drink with a twist came with an olive, salad with no cheese came with cheese, ordered a soup which never arrived....) and unfortunately there was almost nothing on the menu we could eat, despite all the effort to communicate ahead. Ended up having a variety of mismatched sides, some of which were far too salty or oily or smokey.
Looks like a great set up. I’m glad we have it a try, and we didn’t let the food dampen our celebration, but what a shame!
I LOVE Park Tavern! It is consistently good -- the food is always flavorful and hearty, and the wine list is excellent. We had a fantastic Easter dinner here. Both the full roast chicken and the pork were outstanding. Above all, our server was fantastic. Our dinner lasted for four hours and she didn't bat an eye. Pro-tip: Sundays are half-off any bottle of wine. Highly recommend!
The brunch menu had a good variety of dishes, and my party of four were all member of the Clean Plate Club. It was my mother's 91st birthday, and she loved her special piece of birthday cake. Considering it was Easter, the service was very good, and I really appreciated our server turning down the music (it was blasting so we had to shout) so we could have a nice visit.

Appetizers are still great but the mains were disappointing. The new steak frites had a different cut of meat that tasted a bit cheap.
Unfortunately the server whiffed on everything except the free cake (to make up for getting dishes wrong, forgetting drinks, arguing about minor substitutions..) terribly overpriced. Scallops were bland w/ very little food on the plate. That sort of presentation only makes sense when the preparation is transcendent, otherwise it’s just a rip-off. Basically felt stressed the whole meal because the server was so weird.
Me and my friends are too old for that kind of noise. But thanks!
We came to celebrate my cousins birthday. There were 3 of us and we were completely overtaken by several large groups. I like a lively restaurant, here the noise was so that we could barely hear ourselves talk. It took more than 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge that we had been seated and another 10 to get our waiter to take our drink order. To me it wasn’t the waiters fault. Why would you put us in the same station as one waiter responsible for us and two other large parties (one was more than 10 people). Needless to say the attention we received was poor, the food was good, I would have expected great. It would have been nice to have seen a dessert menu. At least we got a slice of cake to say Happy Birthday.
Really good food, but unpredictable portion sizes. We went for brunch, and while everything tasted really good, the starters ranged in size size from a half deviled egg (as a serving) to "fritters" that were the size of a tennis ball and came in a set of 5. The mains were similarly variable in quantity.
But size aside, the menu itself was thoughtfully put together, the food was beautifully presented and the taste was excellent. Service was great too!

It was absolutely delicious!! Davis was our server and was amazing. We had a GREAT time and look forward to going back. The Poulet Noir is by far the star of the menu.
We've been coming here for years. We keep saying we will try some place else, but always end up here. The food, the service--just amazing. My last meal will be PT fries and deviled eggs. Washed down by a Country Lawyer. Or two.
Every meal we have had has been perfect... Davis is a wonderful server....
