About Park Tavern
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter.
Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. Expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week.
Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

Park Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Oh, my. Probably had the pleasure of eating at PT for close to 10 times over the years. We thought so much of it that we had our son's birthday dinner there. The experience went off the rails right away. PT was having "an event" that night. Never a good situation for the other customers. Seated 40 minutes late. Left unattended for long stretches. Four entrees: Chicken was incinerated, duck breast..more raw than medium rare, Spanish octopus was two tentacles that were like a leather rope and finally the halibut..damn good. If we hadn't been seating there for two hrs we would have sent this collective train wreck back. 7:15 reservation..got out of there at 10:15. Expensive negative B-Day experience. Company was great but I'd have to have some compelling reason to try Park Tavern again.
Unfortunately the dinner was not that good.
They tried their best to seat us where it was not noisy . So at least we could have a conversation without yelling . People seem to like to shout these days at dinner or laugh too loud.
Appetizer : Devils on horseback - shrimp wrapped in bacon with cream sauce . Pretty tasty !
My companions halibut was nicely done.
My duck breast was too busy of a plate. Apart from 2 breasts there was cauliflower, kohlrabi both marinated with something - very strange . Creamy polenta , fried greens on top and several spoonfuls of a red sauce/puree that must have been the red cabbage, very strange also and not that tasty . Unfortunately the dish did not agree with me and I was feeling very uncomfortable and had problems the next morning.
Had not been in a while but it was not as good as I remembered
I was excited to go here after reading about it on a best of brunch list, however I found the food to be average and the service to be subpar at best. After being seated, we were not helped or brought water for 15 mins, and had to ask the hostess to send someone over. I ordered the cast iron eggs, but the eggs were overcooked and dry, and the cheese was not at all melted. A pair of women next to me both ordered the eggs as well, however one came out looking perfect - runny eggs, gooey cheese - while the other came out looking very dry like mine. If my dish had been done correctly, I'm sure it would have been great, but unfortunately the food was very inconsistent.
We had a girls get together overnight. Brunch was park tavern the next day. It was perfect. The service was very slow and forgetful. I wondered if they were short staffed that day. But there were staff that seemed unoccupied with attendance at a table, so I do not really know. 15 min for coffee. No refill.
Great restaurant frequented by locals with a varied menu and great vibe. Food was excellent and portion sizes good. Can be a little loud because of the hard surfaces, but that just adds to the restaurant’s vibrancy. We definitely will go back when we are in SF next.
This is the only bar I've been to outside of London that charges for the mix in addition to the liquor. A gin gimlet was $14 for the gin and an additional $2 for the lime juice.
What a ripoff, at least have the integrity to tell customers that the drinks are expensive with out this sneaky add on. Additionally, when asked what gin my wife wanted in her gimlet (I was not present) she said she didn't know and they poured Hendricks at $16 (plus the lime juice) when Beefeaters was in the well. I'm a local and will not be back to this "tourist trap".
We ordered the chicken and the burger. The chicken was delicious but the burger was not good. We ordered it medium and it tasted like very burnt barbecue and the meat patty was pretty thin. Service was okay. When the restaurant got busy it was hard to track down our server. Also, he was not the most personable.
My husband and I visited Park Tavern for Sunday brunch on our anniversary trip to San Fran. We made reservations the morning of and were able to get an adorable little table out front where we could enjoy the weather and people watching. They surprised us with champagne and the food was incredible! Portions were just right and the food was fresh and delicious, not heavy or greasy like some brunch. The service was also top-notch!
Parking was a little challenging in the area so we decided to valet as it’s $12 if you eat at the restaurant and we planned to take a quick walk to coit tower after brunch. When we returned, the valet company tried to charge $20 saying we went somewhere after our meal, but signs didn’t indicate this “rule.” Park Tavern management stepped right in to resolve it and even covered the over charge until they could resolve the issue directly with the valet management.
I would highly recommend Park Tavern!
It was a very busy night in the City ... and the restaurant was cracking with a full house. We checked in for our reservation & immediately got seated at a nice table.
Our Server was a Pro ... in spite of the all extra activity going around ... our dinner pace was enjoyable ... as as the food.
Our (three of us) experience at Park Tavern was a bit disappointing. Nothing was bad, but nothing was outstanding. Service was a bit confusing as four different people came to our table, and it didn't feel as if there were one definite person in charge of taking care of us. We had fish; portions were small; presentation and taste were just okay. The dessert was on the dry side; we wondered if it had been prepared that day.
Wasn’t impressed with the food and initial server. Appetizers were bland and not balanced. Although desserts & cocktails were great! We arrived for a later seating and our 1st server was not attentive & couldn’t offer any recommendations but later another server took over our table and we got lucky with his service.
My date and I we're running pretty late and made it to the Park Tavern at 6:15pm. We had to be at an event nearby at 7:30pm, so we were already stressed about having enough time to enjoy some dinner and cocktails before our event. The Park Tavern hosts and the waitress did an absolutely amazing job to ensure that we could enjoy a stress-free dinner along with two rounds of delicious cocktails and still make our event. We will definitely be coming back to the Park Tavern (with plenty of time, of course) for future date nights in San Francisco. We can't remember the names of the awesome people that helped us make our event, but THANK YOU!
The server we had at brunch on Saturday took a fantastic meal to the next level. Everything she recommended was amazing- I have had dreams about the french toast and shrimp and grits. She also surprised us with birthday cake for my friend and in general was a delight to talk to.
