Park Tavern - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
The bar and restaurant here are very nice. The hostess was friendly and our waitress gave us very good service even though she was quite busy. I've been here a few times and like the ambiance but honestly I think their drink prices are too high. Unfortunately on this occasion our food rated from bad (Chicken Club) to "ok" for the other entrees.
We went to eat prior to a concert . We went for the excellent gluten free options. We only had an hour to comfortably get to our event. I told the waitress this. She was so kind and extremely accommodating . Even though
We were rushed she compromised nothing . She was amazing and met all of our expectations and exceeded them ! We want to go back when we have more time .
Although I have been the the Park before it seems to be hit and miss, reservations for 4, arrived 5 minutes early, and was seated at a table so small it could only have been for 2. It seemed the order took unusually long, Brussel sprouts were raw , and salad came on a plate so small it could not have been eaten without spilling half onto the table. In general I like the place, but next time I'll try somewhere else, it seems like a lot of other places, when you dont have to serve your customers because someone else is always waiting for a table, you dont seem to care too much about serving your customers.
We celebrated a special 30th birthday, there were seven of us. Everything was perfect. Each menu item we ordered was superb. The energetic service was appreciated. We had made several changes to our reservations and then were 10 minutes late due to traffic. All was handled with patience and understanding. We wound up ordering appetizers from the road and they were ready upon our arrival. Excellent. We can't wait to go back.
Very 1st visit here. Found it on Yelp. Decided to give it a go. Reserved a table for 2 and was seated right away. Seating was a little tight. The noise level is high! Hard to hold a decent conversation with all the noise. But, every single television was on and showing a game of some sort. Lots of cheering! Not sure if it's a 1st date type of spot.
We reserved a table so we can have somewhere to sit since we had friends from out of town come in. The person ( which ended up being our server) gave me a hard time when I stated that I had a reservation and showed him my online confirmation number, telling me that tables are only reserved if we are going to be ordering bottle service. I didn't see that in any guidelines so I brought this up to another Park Tavern worker and he stated that wasn't the case and quickly corrected the individual who told us that. We then sat at our table and the server said it's pay as you go so we ordered first round of drinks and never seen him come back again so a few of us just started going up to the bar to get drinks as the night went on. The person at the bar stated that we have a table and are not allowed to order from the bar because we have to follow table reservation rules which i havent seen an rules. I don't understand if it's pay as you go and our server was never around. At this point, a few in our group went to get drinks at the bar for themselves and came back and our server came back and seen they went to get drinks and started giving us attitude and making a big deal about them going to the bar to get drinks. I told the server that it's been a while since he last came to check up on us and we wanted to have some drinks and enjoy our night and they went to get some drinks because we were just there sitting. So the server said well, if they are going to be getting drinks at the bar then I won't be a serving them or getting anything for them or anyone else. This made everyone very uncomfortable. Very rude the server said this. I don't understand why they were making a big deal when drinks were pay as you go, which is the same thing you can do at the bar. The server was really rude and disrespectfull and the bartender that denied a few of us service at the bar was also rude. They were making things very complicated just because we reserved a table.
We went to Park Tavern before a comedy show and had a decent time. Our food was a little more than above average. I had the pulled pork sandwich. The bun fell apart but the meat and fries were good. I believe my wife enjoyed her salad. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were ample. I had a vodka tonic which cost $10.50 so I'll probably go with a beer next time. It's a big place with a good amount of TVs and nice windows and woodwork.
The negative things were that it was really loud although it was a Friday night. I believe it's a chain and it shows. It's pretty generic and homogenous but it is in the suburbs.
I would go again mostly because it is the best of the few reasonably priced restaurants in the area.
Went for dinner after comedy club and apparently, this place transforms to a night club in the evening. Unfortunately, they start this while everyone is still eating dinner? So table were being moved and chairs removed etc. we found ourselves sitting at a table in the middl of an open space that used to be full of tables. And, the nightclub crowd started hanging out, standing directly next to us while were eating, being VERY loud and constantly bumping into us - not a pleasant evening. We will not be returning.
Food was good. Decent place to watch a game. Pretty loud so difficult to have a conversation at times. I was a bit shocked at around 10:15pm the place transformed into a night club - regular lights turned way down, strobe lights ignited, SUPER loud music, chairs removed, etc... Luckily we were just finishing dinner as this was not the atmosphere I was looking for - our purpose for going there was just dinner. I would go again for lunch, but not dinner as I would not want to run into that again.
The food was fantastic but the service was terrible. The hostesses and waiters seems genuinely upset to be working on a Friday night. We asked our waiter for a dessert menu and he said "no. We have these three choices..." and rattled off some generic cake names. We asked to see a menu again, and again he said no.
