Very tasty pasta, will go back and enjoy again soon
Lovely dinner with beautiful food, staff were super friendly and attentive
Amazing! The staff were exceptional in every way. The food was delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Service was great - but the food was average, and the music / ambience was terrible to begin with. We asked for it to change and it got better. They clearly have a great social media manager, as the place was filled with millenials - but really the quality of the food didn't match the hype. Have to admit, the polpette, the prosciutto, and the bombolini are all worth going back for - but that was it from our experience.
Such an enjoyable lunch! Staff and food were great, I needed a little help with the wine list and the advice was knowledgeable without being pretentious. A memorable dining experience!
Good food, very pleasant waiting staff. We were most happy with our visit. We have been before, hence the reason to return.
My partner and I attended Park Street Pasta & Wine the evening of July 3rd.
The venue itself was cute and cosy with nice decor, the service was nice and the wine and cocktail list were also lovely. This however is the extent of my positives.
Upon entering the venue I was reminded about the mask rule before being sat almost shoulder to shoulder with the table beside us.
Entrée was the pork polpette on pesto and the salumi board, the pork meatballs were quite dry, rubbery and has little flavour, you needed the pesto to tolerate this in all honesty.
The salumi board was the highlight of the evening however unless they cure and dry their own meals on site it's really hard to commend a restaurant on their ability to use a deli slicer and lay meat on a plate with a few crackers and pickled chillies.
Now for the mains my partner had the chicken agnolotti in burnt butter and I had the squid ink pasta with the Fremantle octopus.
Now after hearing countless reviews about the quality of this establishments home made pastas I was excited. The smell of my main was lovely however upon biting into the pasta I was unpleasantly surprised at the lack of flavour I experienced, the base of the sauce of my pasta tastes honestly like watered down under seasoned fish stock with a few small slices of octopus and some sliced onions or leaks I believe also.
My partner had the chicken agnolotti and although pasta itself was cooked nicely the filling had such a overly strong chicken taste which overpowered the dish to a point I had to have a drink to wash the after-taste out. And I love a good burnt butter and sage sauce but execution execution everything and I felt that the care and passion honestly was not there and I was looking forward to celebrating my birthday and also my partner and I's recent promotions however was very disappointed at one of the supposed top 10's of Melbourne and I really wish I wasn't because Italian cuisine is one of my partner and I's favourites.
Fantastic place. Disappointed in ourselves for not coming sooner. Food is excellent. Service friendly, knowledgeable and flexible in the right way to ensure you have a great experience. Wine list leans to accessible drops at the bottom end but then moves towards some esoteric, great finds at the top end. Overall, a killer place for a great session
Great boutique restaurant ! Can’t wait to go back. Staff are lovely.
This place is good but nothing overly special. Outside ambience was nice, staff were friendly, meals were very prompt, but the wine and food just wasn’t that impressive. They’re charging prices in line with other Italian restaurants with far superior food, without offering something else that sets them apart. I had pine mushroom tagliatelle which was very bland, and not in the ‘fresh simple ingredients’ way good Italian food strives for. Nothing was bad, just underwhelming, and there are so many other options that do either better food or better prices. If you go, make sure you get the cauliflower side dish though - by far my favourite part of the meal.
Fantastic! Would recommend to a friend 100% . Our waiter was absolutely awesome!
Beautiful food, great service. I love this place. A hidden gem in South Melbourne.
All of the food was extremely well executed. The wine menu is extensive (although neither of us are drinkers) and the food menu is select.
It was easy to tell that the pasta that was served was not off-the-shelf but made in house. The bite and the textures were dead giveaways.
We also had the salami plate. It was far too big for two of us but we somehow managed. Along with the pasta we had some charred brussels sprouts which even a traumatised expatriate British person would take to!
The food was amazing - but they BROKER THE COVID seating and masks were not on all waiters.
Delicious food, excellent service and lovely atmosphere! Will definitely be back :)
Whilst the service was good the food wasn't. The pasta was chewy n tough. The dessert portions were miniscule.
Fabulous food, as always! Great wine and excellent service. Never disappoints
I had a booking and had to wait half an hour for a table to be seated, plus an extra half an hour for drinks and food. We ended up eating by the time half the restaurant had left and staff were already packing up, making us feel rushed and unwelcome. Service was slow, waiters had no set tables and there for parts of our order was forgotten because no one communicated with each other. Waiting staff were friendly and food was delicious but I would not come back to dine here, the overall experience was poor.
Great food and wine as always. Staff were kind enough to move us inside as well, much appreciated.
Birthday food is always delicious
Beautiful food and ambiance. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating! Was our anniversary dinner and they have kindly offered us a nicer table next to the fire place. Highly recommend!
Oh my gosh! Unbelievable food! Lived up to its astounding reputation. Lovely people who work there also :) thankyou!! Will be back for sure!
Great food and amazing service! Definitely a neighbourhood gem for authentic pasta and a great night out.
Best pasta I’ve ever tasted (big call but honest!)
Thank you to the chefs and lovely staff for looking after us for my partners birthday
We had a lovely evening here, the food was just delicious. We will be coming back!
We ordered the menu Pranzo which was the $60 pp set lunch menu. The waiter told us that included 2x entrees, one pasta dish to share and a salad but assured us it was alot of food so we expected value for money. We started with the kingfish for entree which was delicious but then it just went downhill from there. The next entree we received was the fried pork polpette which was completely raw on the inside. I foolishly thought an establishment like this would know what their doing and so ate one of them. My friend however was uncomfortable eating raw pork and so we asked the waiter if this was intended and he embarrassingly said no and took it away. We then got a replacement entree which was the octopus with squid ink and potato. The octopus was warm and delicious but the potato was stone cold and inconsistently cooked with some hard partially cooked potatoes. The potato didn’t even go with the octopus. It was so unpleasant.
We then had to wait a long time for the main which was the mushroom tagliatelle. The tagliatelle was bordering on half cooked, it was so hard. This may have been intentional by the kitchen but hard half cooked pasta is not pleasant and again inconsistently cooked. The salad we received with the main was a basic Kos salad with Parmesan and vinaigrette but was so salty! To make matters worse there was a hair in my pasta and no it was not my own. The service was beyond terrible and we had to wait for water to be topped up. We also noticed there was no social distancing in the restaurant and we could touch the people on the table next to us.
We were so disappointed in the food, the service and poor value for money. It was truly terrible and we will never return or recommend this place to anyone we know.
The food and service was amazing every single dish was delicious we all really enjoyed the food
We loved the food and the great waiters. Lovely to see that you have not only survived but flourished in Covid times
One of the better restaurant experiences I’ve had in recent memory, we chose the “pasta mista” chefs selection and were not disappointed, delicious from beginning to end.
We went with matched wines at a very reasonable price point and it kept on flowing, perfectly complimenting each meal.
Lastly I’d like to compliment the staff, exceptional service, very knowledgeable and super friendly,
Amazing food and service as always!
Beautiful food & service.
Everything was to highest standards. Food was excellent, service 10/10
The food was delicious, the wine was delicious, the service was excellent and the owner is smokin. What more could I ask for.
Last time I was here the food was excellent and the service was good. This time the service was not great. After we sat down and it took 15 minutes before the waiter came near us, let alone take our food or drink order. The pasta with the king prawns was Very oily and the king prawns were very small and overcooked. The other pasta dishes were average. There was a speaker playing rap music very close to our table which was unpleasant. Very disappointing
Service was outstanding!! Very accomodating staff and super helpful with recommending dishes and wines. Food was great although pasta dishes were a little cold as understaffed and wait staff unable to get dishes out quick enough. Willing to forgive!
Upon entering Park Street Pasta and Wine you are greeted with both a warm ambience from the atmosphere and the staff. Warm and casual, yet exceptional food. Definitely something to write home about.
Make sure you get the brussel sprouts and elderflower spritz.
Disappointing. Entree was burnt; pasta dishes took over an hour to come out; one was acceptable and the other was bland and undercooked. Staff never inquired how our meals were until after we had paid and we gave constructive feedback. Their response was why didn’t you speak up earlier!
This place has received some good reviews. We have been twice now and twice been very disappointed. For us it is over rated and expensive. There are many better Italian restaurants in Melbourne. We won’t be returning for a third time.
We're disappointed to read of your experience and apologise that our staff did not check back in to see how your meals were - we just wish we had the opportunity to turn your experience around while you were still seated.
Amazing service and food! Highly recommend! Beautiful location too!
Thanks for the recommendation, Antoinette! Glad you enjoyed everything.
We love Park Street Pasta and Wine! One of our favorite Italian restaurants - all the wait staff are Italian, engaging and flexible - you'd swear you were in Roma!
The ambience is lovely, the food is sensational and the service attentive. the waiters are all very knowledgeable about both the food and wine.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food!
Hi Kat, Thanks so much for your sensational review! We look forward to hosting you again soon.
Delicious pasta & friendly service. Lovely Mother's Day dinner to remember.
So glad to hear! Thank you.
