PARK Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Our experience at PARK did not meet expectations. We arrived for our 11AM reservation and were immediately seated. However, it took over ten minutes for our server to visit our table. I had to ask the hostess to alert our server, and others who were seated after us were served before us. The restaurant was not busy. For most of our visit, the music was awful. It was a lot of 90s music that I had hoped I would never hear again. I appreciate being nostalgic about the 90s and wanting to explore all music genres, but I think something more innocuous would be a better choice for Sunday brunch. Perhaps jazz, classical, or modern alternative. Finally, when I received my food order, my eggs were severely undercooked. I ordered sunny side up eggs, so I recognize that the yolk should be runny, but I believe the whites should solidify. My eggs were completely runny, with the whites being undercooked. My order was corrected, but it was not a pleasant experience.
We love PARK. We visit often for dinner or drinks. We've even stopped by in the early afternoon for drinks. In addition, when family or friends visit us in Cambridge, we take them to PARK. This is why I had to try Sunday brunch. Unfortunately, it was an incredibly disappointing experience, especially when we spent $90 for two people. I will return for drinks and dinner, but I can't say it will be anytime soon.
Overall great experieance at PARK. One of the best restaurant/bars in Harvard Square. The ambiance is excellent. Really love the area with the bookshelves and sofas to the left of the bar. Makes for a great place to bring friends for drinks and or food! Highly recommended!
Excellent. We have always been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at Park. We were there early on NYE and seated away from the bar, so the noise level was moderate. Lobster and crab dip was great, clam chowder was the best ever (I don't usually like it), and the salmon with parsnips and brussel sprouts was fabulous. I can always find something without gluten or much gluten. We'll be back!
Sunday Brunch/Lunch with children and grandparents on New Year's Eve before a show at the ART. Very quiet due to Harvard's school break and extremely cold weather. PARK was nearly empty, so we had a nice room with a fireplace nearly to ourselves. The ambiance (jazzy music) and decor (post-industrial, leather seating) are nice. The brunch food - we almost all ordered Eggs Benedict - were good and cooked correctly, but nothing to write home about. Service was good enough, if a bit slow and not totally efficient. Bloody Marys were reportedly good, although I didn't taste one. I'd recommend to singles, couples, or a group without kids when school (or summer) is in session, as it is probably busier and noisier. In our visit, PARK was perfectly pleasant, and I'll be headed back again for a drink or lunch sometime.
I treated a friend to a terrific birthday dinner here. Not a huge menu, but the appetizers and entrees we ordered were all great. Even though my online reservation had included request for a quiet table, we were initially seated in a pretty noisy area. But when we asked, we were immediately moved to a quiet spot farther back (there are a number of rooms), which was perfect, more like a cozy library. Service was very attentive and friendly.
This is our 4th year in a row going to Park for Thanksgiving dinner. We like to do something casual and low-key and follow dinner with a movie and walk around Cambridge. We first started going there when we found that they were one of the few restaurants open that offered something for everyone. Our party ended up being 5 instead of 4, but that was no problem for the folks at Park. In fact, everyone there seems to really like their job, which is nice.
Of the 5 of us, 2 ordered the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, and 3 ordered something else (2 vegan dinners). Dinner took longer than usual to arrive, so the manager 'bought' us dessert. They really seem to care about keeping everyone happy. We look forward to going back next year.
I called to let them know my friend has gluten allergy. Woman on the phone said they could accommodate us with a GF menu. When we got there, we were told there is no such menu but the server can point out GF options. There were two options—the burger and ragu. My friend wanted the burger but unfortunately they were out of GF buns.
Excellent service, a wonderfully curated menu, fantastic cocktail selection..classy, cozy, and tasty.
It gets packed in here, though - fitting a group of 6+ in here would be a challenge short-notice, so make sure you call ahead so they can make some space for you. Wonderful spot to pop into and catch up with a date or a couple friends.
Our third time dining at Park. The food seems to have slipped. Too many sauces or toppings that are overly sweet and sugary.....not sure why? There is no need. My husband had the acorn squash with black quinoa and it was smothered by a way too sweet chili sauce. Didn't need it at all and our mistake - should have ordered all sauces on the side. The taste of toasts appetizer was the same. I would have expected a more savory choice. It tasted like dessert. I don't think we will be back - too many good options in Cambridge and Boston.
I really wanted to give Park 5 stars: the food was very good, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable, and on Sunday there was free parking in the garage in the same building (across the Harvard JFK school). But even after our very good waiter asked that the music be turned lower at our request, and after we had requested a quiet table as part of our reservation, it was very difficult to have a quiet conversation. Probably would be 4.5 stars if that were an option. I know that restaurants think that loud music helps their bottom line, but we think it really detracts!
Unnecessarily loud music forces up the overall volume to levels that make even simple conversation impossible. Otherwise a ambiance was quite cool.
Straightforward menu with something for everybody.
Service was spotty at best. Perhaps understandable given full house when we first arrived at 7:30 but playing to a two-thirds full house at 9:45 when we were winding down, I would have expected a more attentive crew.
In short, great potential but need to turn down the volume and turn up the service.
Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our recent trip to Park for brunch with a group of friends. The environment is great, as our their cocktails, but we were very underwhelmed by the brunch items ordered (chicken and waffles, short ribs and eggs). Unfortunately, we also had trouble locating our waiter most of our time there for coffee refills and other requests. Love the vibe, but wouldn’t recommend for brunch.
The food was fabulous here! I went with a friend for Brunch. I loved everything that I saw on the menu but ended up having a Veggie Burger and it was the best I have ever had! My friend had the goat cheese omelet and also raved about it. Our server was very friendly and our food came out quickly. The only negative is that it is very noisy and they have speakers blasting music from the ceiling everywhere so it was hard to talk. Even so I would still not hesitate to go there again, just not when I wanted to have a meeting or chat with someone about something important.
