PARK Restaurant & Bar
Best Cesar salad I’ve ever had
The rest was unremarkable
We went to PARK for Father's Day! Our visit started so well with attention having been paid to the request on Open Table for seating in a quiet area of the restaurant due to our hard of hearing guests. They gave us a perfect spot where we could talk. Next came our wonderful server who was funny and accommodating and though she faced several questions as well as changes to orders, she was lovely and funny and very responsive. The food was delicious (perfect bacon and homefries) though the servings may have been smaller than expected (with the exception of the AMAZING French Toast). Oddly, they do not have typical coffee drinks (cappuccino, latte - at least not iced) but our server created something with what they could offer that satisfied us. Overall, a really lovely place. Finally, really appreciated the FREE parking they offered with a 2-meal minimum order in the local garage. Made it easy to drive in and out of Harvard Square without an extra headache and expense. Plus though it was rainy, we did not get wet since the restaurant is attached to the garage. Great experience! We'll be back!
The food was ok, nothing on the menu made us say: I want to try that! But it wasn't particularly difficult to find something we'd like either. We ended up picking the salmon poke, duck tacos and fried rice appetizers. The salmon poke was the best of the three.
The waitress was very nice to us. My wife had ordered a sparkling rose. It was a bit flat, but still good. We were not thinking about returning it, but it bugged the waitress so much that she brought a new glass from a freshly open bottle on her own. That was much appreciated.
Ambience-wise, it's a good place if you're a group of friends, not so much if you're on a date.
Overall, it's an ok place. I wouldn't object of someone suggested going there, but I would not suggest it myself.
Lovely restaurant with pleasant patio seating. Outstanding cocktails. Try the Paper Plane. Sunday is prime rob day and it was delicious. Great place for a very nice dinner
Food was just overwhelmingly poor and did not overcome the many other nice things about this place.
It was great! Nice food, warm hospitality. Feels upscale, yet pub-like, and proximity to Harvard translates to high energy.
Dining room is dark but everything else was great
Great meal, excellent service, the chocolate mousse for dessert was the perfect way to end our meal!
My primary complaint was our server’s terrible attitude about my food allergies. After giving her a list of my Life-threatening food allergies, she made a face as if she was disgusted and proceeded to ask me if my severe health condition was a “preference”. Would not recommend at all.
Food was ok and service was good but rushed even though the restaurant was empty so they didn’t need our table for the next party . Not enough choices for vegetarians
Great spot, validated parking and delicious food and drinks!
We are never disappointed with our experience at Park. The cocktails were inventive and the food is tasty. There are wide range of options for everyone. The service was just right.
Came here on Mother’s Day and had a nice brunch. Service was excellent. Great selection of beers on tap. And validated parking right above which was very nice.
I'll try to be balanced in my review, as we have had several very good experiences at Park previously. But, this visit was about as bad as it gets. We waited almost an hour for the food, despite several assurances of "just coming out in 2 minutes", over the course of 30 minutes. As hunger reached its peak, three times servers tried to give us someone else's food! And, we ordered the simplest/fastest things - pancakes, parfait, soup... It was Mother's Day; so not great for my wife. We were actually standing up to leave -which we've never done- when the food arrived. Also, we twice sent our son's coke back as flat.
We gave up after the second fail, but saw that they continued serving it to others. Ultimately, they were apologetic and comped several things on our check (including things we didn't order, or didn't receive). I would go once more. But, not on a holiday. And, if we see similar problems, that'll be it for Park... Again, we've had several good experiences prior, and hope this was just a holiday one-off.
The food was mediocre, lacked flavor so that was a bit disappointing. But the price was good and location great, I would visit again for drinks.
The place is small, and quaint. A little dark for my liking, but still a good atmosphere. I would highly recommend the chowder- I told the server that it would easily have won any of the chowderfests that I have been to!!
We did not have a good experience. For some reason we don’t understand, our food was seriously delayed. While everyone around us sat down later and started eating their second courses, we waitmted for our appetizers, which were not hot when they arrived. We asked for more salad dressing, never got it. We asked for an extra napkin, never got it. The manager comped our appetizers, which is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. The noise level forced us to speak very loudly, too.
The food was reasonably priced and the drinks were PHENOMENAL!
We loved this restaurant. Very relaxed, excellent food : clam chowder - not to thick, best flavor! Caesar salad- nice and large for side salad, Asian buns with duck - spicy and soft, outstanding. Pasta - big portion, tasty and filling, yummy patty melt. We’d recommend them all. Nice selection of beer.
The bar in the other room is cozy with lots of character. Would have met there before the meal or had an after dinner drink (if we hadn’t needed to go right home after eating).
We went for a date after a rough day and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. Great spot for Sunday night drinks! Also, draught cocktails are where its at.
Very busy, crowded, and dark-- food takes a while to come out on Friday nights and is quite expensive for the quality. Good experience because we had such a nice waitress, but nothing particularly special otherwise. Menu sounds great but food was okay, B+.
Great food, drink and atmosphere. Would definitely go back!
I've never had a bad cocktail at PARK. Our table of 6 was in the back, where one of the lamps was not working so it was a bit dark.
Best muscles I've ever had! It was a bit loud and poorly lit for having dinner with my family but great in every other way!
Food was good, service was a little slow and one dish was brought out incorrectly - staff did address the issue though and that was appreciated. Ambience was great and overall an enjoyable experience. Would recommend, Park can just do a bit better in front of house.
We went for Easter brunch and were very happy. The restaurant is beautiful and an easy location in Harvard Square, with validated parking to the lot next door. The food was delicious, especially the salmon eggs Benedict. I hope to go for dinner soon.
Nice place, decent food. Service although very friendly was pretty slow considering there was hardly anyone in the place towards end of brunch. Also “ran out” of a few things on the menu.
Food, atmosphere, and service were good. Bar drinks were very poor. Bartender seemed to have little experience making fairly simple drinks.
Food was ok, nothing special. Eclectic mix on the menu.
I liked the location and setting; we were in a cozy back room with a fireplace (much quieter than the bar area, though eventually it got noisy in our area as well). The food was good, but the menu was quite limited (I think this must be a really good place for drinks and appetizers--less good for a dinner because of the limited choice.) We had to ask for bread--then the waiter told us crackers and cheese were complimentary (but he hadn't offered them when we had our cocktails). The bread he brought was cold and going stale. I ordered a cappuccino after dinner and it was barely lukewarm and served without a spoon. The crust on the meat pie was enormous and a bit of an oddity though the filling was good.
The menu is short and well conceived. Good choice of beers.
Salads were really good but main dishes were not (quite greasy). The music was also disconcerting: very saccharine pop--felt like we were in a fitness center.
We were seated near the bathrooms and could hear toilets flushing. They should figure that out.
Sister in from out of town so we wanted to go some place casual but fun and yummy. This fit the bill perfectly!
Ruined my sister’s 50th birthday celebration. She only drinks lemon drop martinis. Her drink was awful. She couldn’t place it but when she thought maybe it was too weak and asked them to remedy that they handled it in the tackiest way. Our server was not seasoned at all and she was not able to make sense of it all. As she said, she was only 19 and didn’t drink yet. We are sitting in a dark, lounge in the bar area and the staff is not even familiar with cocktails, a very basic one? Inexperienced and underpaid staff, obviously. So she told my sister that everything is measured and blah blah blah. Strike one. TMI. Just fix the drink, make the customer here for her 50th birthday happy with at least a proper lemon drop. My sister was made to finish the drink as it was (!) and they would maybe be able to make the next one stronger. I would have paid and left then. My sister kept asking what is she tasting in her drink that should not be in there because the second one was worse than the first. I tasted it. Repulsive. Finally server came back instead of a manager with notes so she could read us the ingredients. There was maraschino liquor in it!My poor sister kept insisting something was so wrong and they made her feel like she was being difficult. This is about ordering steak and getting rabbit. Who puts maraschino liqueur in a lemon drop? It’s a crime! My sister requested the manager come over. Yes, she had to request! He tried to make excuses for it instead of just taking ownership of the total fail. Something along the lines of I’m sorry but every bar makes the lemon drop differently. Well if you mean most know how to make one correctly and some don’t I guess you’d be right. Food was awful. Calamari dehydrated, tough and inedible. Tagliatelle was so salty and tasted like a pasta version of vodka pizza. They dumped 2 awful desserts on our table. Not one person turned the situation around, my sister was so upset. Not one wished her a happy birthday. Not one.
Yes, I would highly recommend this spot! And I will be returning very soon!
I ordered the sandwich special which was supposed to be pork. It ended up being sliced steak and cheese which was delicious but not what I ordered. One of my friends ordered this as well and is lactose intolerant (we asked what was on the sandwich prior to ordering and cheese was not listed as an ingredient). Our server seemed to disappear for most of the meal and would not come over despite me making eye contact and later giving him a wave. My friend ended up picking the cheese off of his sandwich. Our table was cleared and we again were unable to get our server's attention. We ended up getting a different server's attention after about 15/20 minutes. She brought us a check but it was not for our table. Our server quickly came by only when he thought we had paid that check and brought us the correct check. He seemed very attentive when he thought we were paying.
Wanted to have drinks and dinner with my adult daughter. Have been to Park before and enjoyed ourselves. They offered a Dine Out menu which was a good price. Great service!
Close to Harvard, food was great, our waiter was very polite and efficient!
