Park Grill Chicago Ratings and Reviews
Somewhat impromptu dinner in the park—few blocks from our new home. By ice skating rink (which I didn’t expect). Very pleasantly surprised by food—fantastic beer batter cheese curds and mustard sauce—to die for. Hubby loved chicken noodle soup and his pork chop Milanese (a special), while I loved the burger made w 3 meats.... both enjoyed leftovers.... will definitely go back!
Unfortunately our dining experience was affected by our service. My husbands onion soup was excellent. Our entrees arrived lukewarm before he was half way through the soup. The taste was good but the temperature was too cold. Halfway through I asked why we had bread plates but no bread. It arrived 3/4 of the way through the meal. In the past we have had much better experience.
The only vegan main course was a black bean burger. By 2018, most restaurants have evolved beyond only offering salads and veggie burgers for vegetarians and vegans. The cocktails were good and I still like the room and view of the ice rink outside. It's beyond time for casual dining places like Park Grille to offer some real vegan fare. It's not really that hard and people will appreciate it.
This restaurant was always one of our favorites, but were disappointed with the food this last visit. The food had to be sent back. The burger was very under done and the fries were cold. It wasn’t busy, so there was no excuse. Overall, a disappointing dining experience. There are too many other dining options in the area.
I'm from Denver, have visited the restaurant several times over many years since it is close, convenient and usually good atmosphere and food. this last time was really great: our waiter was friendly, courteous and shared great recommendations, and the food arrived quickly and was really good. We were in a business casual meeting for dinner and it worked so well! Thank YOU! MJWdR
Everything was perfect, our server was excelllent, etc. An extremely loud man was seated mid meal at the table directly behind us and then we were unable to have any kind of conversation, it was a huge distraction and we could not wait to leave. Too bad a manager could not have come out and dinw something about it.
We took our teenage daughter for a late Christmas Eve lunch. This restaurant is so perfect for a cozy holiday meal. Service, food, holiday décor (including the skating rink right outside) made for a memorable meal. Only one con experienced--a chilly dining experience because our booth was located near the restaurant entrance. It was such a nice experience that we are already talking about coming back next year.
Although the food tasted okay, it deviated significantly from how it was described on the menu. Portion sizes were inadequate. The server was impatient. Our entrees were delivered minutes after the appetizer was served. .There was no excuse for being rushed as the restaurant was nearly empty. This would have been unacceptable at half the price. I will never eat here again.
Perfect meal after ice skating. Burgers all around. Not like a fast food burger though. Family of 6 adults went ice skating for holiday festivities and this beautiful affordable restaurant was right there. No more parking the car. We enjoyed our dinner very much.
We haven't been to Park Grill for a couple of years. Same great décor and location but I remember a much more interesting menu. I can't say that I'll be back or be recommending it. Even as a place to meet for drinks and appetizers, the offerings for food are definitely lacking considering the prime location.
Sorry . . . .
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Nash was our server and he was always there when you needed him. They had $1 oysters on Friday mmmmm good. Wonderful selection of appetizers and entrees. There was something for everyone. The place is fun and the ambiance is great. I'd go again and again.
No real issue with the food, which is ok. But we ordered starters and mains and the mains were served whilst we were still eating the starters! Could have sent them back I guess but would have reappeared having been kept on a hot plate and dried out no doubt. Pretty poor show really but the problem is with the kitchen not the waiting staff.
This place is a gem. The location is perfect in summer with the outdoor patio for people watching, and in winter you can watch the ice skaters. The menu is wonderful with lots of choices for every palate. The service is also very good. The value is excellent for downtown Chicago.
Service and ambiance are great and it's a great location after spending time in Millenium park but the food left a lot to be desired. They over use sauces and salad dressings and the spaghetti and marinara was so bland my kids wouldn't eat it. The restaurant also doesn't have Parmesan cheese which is unfortunate if they are offering spaghetti for kids. My salad was drenched in salad dressing and the calamari comes on a bed of thousand island like sauce instead of having the sauce on the side. If I go again, I'll know to ask for our food to be prepared differently so it's more appetizing. Wish I coujscgive it more stars for the food since the restaurant is lovely.
We were there for Thanksgiving Dinner. Ordered the Thanksgiving dinner entrée and the food was quite bland. Requested and was acknowledged that I can get all dark meat, I did not. Asked if the sweet potatoes where mashed like the regular mashed potatoes (wanting mashed for my little ones) and was told it was, but it was not. It wasn't bad food, nor bad service. Just wasn't WOW. The ambiance was nice with it being a holiday.
