Park Avenue Winter Ratings and Reviews
If I could give this place 0 I would. The food was so overpriced. The main dish came out cold and so messy on the plate like it had been lumped in the plate. It was cold and appetizer was lacking major flavor. Every glass of wine was $20 no matter what. Just really was not impressed with this restaurant.
We were a group of six. The ambiance was nice. Noise was not deafening, and the food was delicious. One of us had short ribs that she found dry, but I had the pumpkin ravioli and liked it. Above all our server was wonderful. Attentive and knowledgeable. And appeared to enjoy her work. I would go back especially with a group.
Last Sunday our family enjoyed a truly delicious 3 course meal complete with four wine pairings - a fabulous bargain. Highlights were the apps of butternut squash soup with lobster crouton and the crab cake and entrees filet mignon with mushrooms and the short ribs. Every dish was beautifully plated and served with style. The wines (a Proseco, a Savignon Blanc, a Pinot Noir and a Cab, while not high end, pricey selections, were all quite enjoyable making the price fixe an outstanding value and a fun experience. I find the desserts to be adequate, not special, especially if you stick to the homemade ice cream or sorbet.
The winter decor is stunning!
This place has gone downhill since I was last there 5 years ago. Appetizers were great, but entrees were just ok and definitely not worth the price. The wine special they offer after 8:30 pm is not worth it - the wines offered were mediocre, and I would have just preferred to splurge for own own bottle.
We had a party of 6 for a brunch celebrating my birthday. I love the ambience -- autumn this time. Service was excellent. Food was missing several items we wanted but was good as usual. Portions are generous for the prix fixe brunch. I've been here for several of the seasons for lunch and brunch and plan to return.
Our first time - wonderful space and decor, great bar, lots of energy - but the food was poor and lacked an expert touch from the kitchen, The wild mushroom appetiser turned out to be luke-warm soggy mushrooms in some sort of mayonnaise sauce. Yukh. My wife's Schnitzel was good, but my venison chop arrived under grilled and almost cold. the rest of the plate was a bit of a mess (as were the sides with my wife's schnitzel). An overall lack of talent in the kitchen marred an otherwise nice evening.
I'm always impressed by Park Avenue. I have been dining there on occasion for years, even at their prior location. The menu changes seasonally as does the decor. The service is excellent. I had the steak tartare and the duck, coupled with Orin Swift Palermo. All in my party of 5 were delighted with the venue, food and service. I'll be back shortly for the winter version!!
We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation. Even though our table was ready, they made us wait the full 10 minutes before they seated us. They then proceeded to seat two other parties before us even though they arrived equally early for their reservations. We ordered the filet mignon and the chicken entrées. We also ordered brussels sprouts, potato latkes, and the chèvre fritter appetizer. The filet mignon was the only decent item we received and yet it was certainly nothing to write home about. The potato latkes were completely burned and inedible, the brussels sprout dish was way too vinegary, and the chevre fritter was served cold which isn’t good when you serve something fried. The chicken was so incredibly bland and expensive for what it was. It was three tubes of chicken. It looked like sliced eggrolls and tasted like nothing. A glass of wine cost $20 and the cider was not good at all. Overall, the meal was exceedingly expensive, especially given that it didn’t taste good. It took our server more than 10 minutes after we finished eating to even notice that we were completely done and waiting for the bill. Despite the very much less than and disappointing meal. the restaurant ambiance was beautiful.
My boyfriend and I dined here for an alternate Thanksgiving dinner due to work schedules. We had a perfect time. The pork prime rib with the spaetzle was out of this world and beautifully presented. Service was flawless. We have been meaning to come here for a while, but now I need to find a reason to come during each of the other seasons to see how it changes.
My husband and I took a friend for her birthday. All foodies. We each ordered different apps and entrees and all were exceptionally well prepared. I had noted on the reservation that it was a birthday celebration and at the end of the meal they brought a beautiful birthday desert. Note-I ordered salmon which I often do and it was PERFECTLY prepared.
My fiancé and I decided to take a trip to NYC as an early Xmas present. The appetizers and dessert were excellent though the mains were ok. We enjoyed the goat cheese fritter and pumpkin ravioli were amazing. The pork schnitzel was decent just not wowed by it. The chocolate cube and apple crumb were also tasty. Would recommend as a place to go but would choose more apps, dessert, and the craft cocktails. We’d go back for another season to try. Service was very good too.”
I love Park Avenu Autumn! The atmosphere, staff, and overall restaurant is spectacular! I’ve been here a handful of time and every time I am always satisfied. They have unlimited wine dinner after 8:30pm which I definitely recommend! The food and decor are creative. I would for sure recommend this restaurant for all occasions! I enjoy how they change there menu and decor for the 4 seasons! Very creative!
The physicality is warm and attractive. The service is friendly and attentive. And the food is excellent. Special requests regarding the menu are honored without hesitation. For example, I asked for something not on the menu and it was no problem. While not inexpensive, it is worth every dollar. Flawless.
Reception worked very well and seated quickly and warmly. Appetizers cam very quickly implying prepreparation and one with squash and ricotta was a bit cold. The waiters were generally attentive although there were two times when we wanted to speak with a waiter and no one was within easy hailing. Hot beverages at the end of meal were brought out significantly behind dessert although request was made to serve both together. Atmosphere was nice although in some areas, tables are close together. Food excellent, but small portions.
We enjoyed every aspect of our experience. Only one complaint: We arrived early and the couple dining with us did not. We were asked to wait in the bar or lounge. We did and ordered wine. When our friends arrived on time, it took a while for the host to seat us since he was attending to other guests who were just arriving.
