I had brunch there a week earlier and loved it.
dinner was very disappointing. very loud room, fair service and food mediocre
The wine dinner was a fantastic deal. 4 glasses of wine (generously poured) and 3 course delicious meal.
Great, fresh food, wonderful atmosphere and seasonal decorations, wait staff was very attentive. A great special-occasion place.
The service here was very sub par. Upon asking the waiter recommendations he gave pretty uninterested responses, and consistently placed new glasses of wine on our table before we finished our current ones - making the dinner feel rushed. The food was pretty good but nothing outstanding compared to other meals I’ve had in nyc. The price for the wine is great but that’s the only stand out thing here, really.
Great food, wonderful decor, super staff. We were given excellent suggestions, delicious wine, and scrumptious food.
I love this restaurant. The servers were absolutely wonderful and the bar staff took great care of me and my friend for an amazing birthday dinner. Thank you Ricky and Lana. Oh, and the watermelon “pastrami” is a must-try! Kudos to the chef for a delicious meal.
THIS WAS AMAZING. Food and wine were incredible. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Can’t wait to go back
A very nice experience! We celebrated two graduations and loved it!
This is the 3rd time we have dined at Park Avenue. The previous times were both very good and we enjoyed the experience. This time the service was really poor and the back room was noisy and unpleasant. We expect a very positive experience for the price of the wine dinner. It was not provided this time and we will probably not go back.
Food and wine pairing is a great value, however prepare to have the worst wait time and overall experience. 20 minutes before we had our waitress come to the table, she used a dirty glass to pour our wine before we pointed it out, had the wrong food delivered to our table and overall very poor attention to detail from the wait staff. Would not recommend unless you have 3 hours to spend on dinner.
We had yet another fabulous time at park avenue. This is our sixth time doing wine dinner (we've hit every season since discovering it) and summer is definitely the best.
Our server, Marko, made flawless recommendations and helped us pick the best plates on the menu. The service was attentive but not overbearing, and the timing of all the dishes was flawless.
The steak tartare, burrata with peaches, and yellowfin tuna with mango ice were all amazing.
This was one of our best visits ever. Thank you!
Thank you! We enjoyed having you and hope to see you again soon!
Great food, beautiful decor!
We did the wine dinner and it was great many choices to choose from food was excellent
I've dined here many times - always very good. We had friends in from out of town and we partly chose Park Avenue bc it is such a beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately the only part we saw of the restaurant was while the maitre d walked us through it to our table in the event space room. Extremely disappointing. They put a lot of effort into the decor of that restaurant four times a year. It is one of the signature benefits of dining there - they know that. Yet they seat people in an event space room that is completely separate from the restaurant with no view of the restaurant (accept for two sliding panels that allow you to see dining room if you are sitting in front of those panels). Unacceptable. In fact we were the only ones seated in the room for the first 20 minutes of our meal - very uncomfortable. Boring, drab room, banquet style tables with folding metal legs, draped with a white table cloth. If they are going to use that room for dining room overflow, they should inform the potential customer when the reservation is made. Totally unacceptable for the price point of this restaurant ($100+ per head).
Second restaurant blunder of the night is that they are serving bottles of red wine at room temperature. To be fair, many restaurants in NYC try to get away with this, not just Park Avenue. Anywhere else in the culinary world you would put out of business but for some reason some NYC restaurant get away with it because "space is at such a premium". That being said, I don't normally see it at this level of dining. The waitress was very nice and quickly chilled the Pinot Noir to the perfect temp of 56 degrees after I instructed her to do so. She even anticipated the second bottle and had it chilled when it was brought into service. Again, totally unacceptable for a restaurant at this price point.
The food and wine pairings were amazing. I can’t wait for Spring!!
We can’t for the wine dinner. Excellent value for unlimited wine and 3 courses. Will definitely come again.
Waiting for the table for 25 minutes even though we had a reservation. Sat down and waiting for another 15 minutes for water and wine to be serve. Food and wine selection was really good but the service was really really slow, I felt like they’re lacking of servers. Literally, I have to asked them twice for everything including a check.
The food is quite good; however, the cost is excessive. The service is accomplished. The costs are not justified.
Early as we had an engagement at 7:30. I have been there before a few times and this one was a bit disappointing. I had short ribs that were dry and not much flavor. Would I go back? Maybe but there are two very good other choices in the neighborhood .
The food was just ok and overpriced for what we got. We had the scallops and the fish which did not taste that fresh. For sides we had the mixed greens and the brussels sprouts. They were both nothing special. The Brussels sprouts were the better of the two. The service was great, but we were put in one of the side rooms which had very little ambiance and was missing the vibe of the main room. The apple tart desert was the best part of the meal. Overall we were disappointed.
As always, every dish and wine is consistently delicious and with so many options to please everyone. The wine dinner is the best value and the service and ambiance can not be beat! We have come here multiple times during each season and have impressed everyone we bring with us. Never have had a bad meal here!
Super nice food, ambience and services. I would love to come back here!
Great experience. Our waitress was prompt with wine refills and our meal was well paced. The food was great, as usual. Would definitely recommend the wine dinner!
Love the ambiance and the food is amazing. We loved everything!
Our waitress was wonderful! We enjoyed the food so much. Can't wait to go back!
We went for a special holiday dinner. It exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the service great and the wine flowed generously. The only complaint was that the music was a little too loud. We had a wonderful time. A little tipsy when we left.
Went for the wine dinner. The food was fantastic, we opted for the ravioli, the steak tartare, short rib and the duck. My one complaint would be that the setup of the wine dinner was not well explained and the dishes were not spaced out well. Overall, would highly recommend.
Went for the wine dinner and it was great! Waited a bit for a table even with a reservation, but besides that the service was awesome! Will definitely be coming back for the other seasons. Great for a date night.
Had a wonderful meal here whilst visiting New York. Beautiful food, great for a special occasion. The wine dinner was fantastic value. Would highly recommend x
Unfortunately waited for 45 minutes to be seated...
What a wonderful experience. The restaurant decor changes seasonally and it was beautiful. The food was delicious and plenty to chose from. Wines were good and our server was awesome. We also met another couple there who recommended many things to try. Loved it so much we are going back two days later.
Really enjoyed the food and the wine. Our waiter was super pleasant and nice. Our food and drinks were served in a timely manner. Overall good experience.
The food was excellent and the dinner included 4 glasses of wine (a sparkling, a white, and 2 glasses of red, so it was definitely a good value. However I am marking it down for squeezing the maximum number of diners into the space and then playing loud music, making it almost impossible to hear the person you were planning to dine with. If they would be just a bit merciful with the noise, I would like this place fine!
If you are looking for a bottomless bad wine menu go there.
Bad service so fast than you are done in one hour for 3 courses
Bad wine at 10$ retail price
When I booked and I saw wine mine as a wine lover i wasn’t expected - bad wine bottomless menu
Amazing food, great ambiance. Overall really fun and delicious experience. Can’t wait to go back for another season!
My wife and I had been to this restaurant over a year ago and were so excited to return. Our experience in Feb 2017 was fantastic.
I found out about a “wine dinner” promotion and we decided to grab another couple and go last night. The food was very underwhelming this go round. The service was awful, we had to ask for wine at every turn, it was as if we were the red headed step child of this servers tables. The scallops dinner looked and tasted like it had been prepared 1 hour earlier. There were a couple good dishes (Duck, beef Tatare app) but too many others missed. I also found 2 pieces of plastic in one of the dessert dishes (thankfully I didn’t swallow) I let the server know who brought over the manager and asked us if we wanted shots on the house. I found that to be strange and declined politely. Nothing was taken off the check.
Bottom line is this place went very south and I’m hoping it’s just because of the “wine dinner” . Great restaurants don’t do all you can drink wine dinners so I should have known something wasn’t right. Maybe they are under new ownership. That said, won’t go back.
