Food was very disappointing and below average. Terrible vibe, noisy and super slow service.
Excellent deal in wine dinner after 8:30. We went in a group and had a fine time. Appetizers and entrees were very good, wine selections strong and service outstanding. But, this restaurant continues to have the worst desserts of any restaurant in town. I was last here 10 years ago when it was still on the UES and at that time I had a horrendous dessert that still conjures up bad memories. It hasn't changed - a carrot cake that wasn't remotely appetizing, a pavlova that was tremendously bad. This needs to be fixed.
Food was very good. Service was very lacking and we were rushed out. Appetizers came out minutes after placing our order, and entrees came immediately after our appetizers were cleared. At this price point, its unacceptable to rush patrons out. There are many competing restaurants nearby that will provide a far better experience at this price point / atmosphere.
I have been here several times and the food and service is always excellent.
Went here for Spring Brunch prefix with unlimited prosecco/rose refills on a Saturday 1PM. The food, ambiance, and service were great. There were enough people, but not busily packed. I appreciated our waitress who was phenomenal with the prosecco refills (1.5 hours).
Booked through OpenTable and checked off Birthday, they helped us celebrate with a complementary small carrot cheesecake/candle.
Excellent everything! Will recommend to friends and return myself right away!
Our children live in the area so we go whenever we can! I had my eldest daughters bridal shower
there, and, when my other daughter got engaged they came to our rescue on a cold, rainy,
December day and set up an area for the proposal which was so beautiful and everyone
there was so helpful! We love Park Avenue, Spring, summer, fall and winter!
I've been to several of the Quality Branded restaurants (have had private parties at one of their restaurants) and have been to Park Avenue [Spring] before (and have gone when it used to be Hurricane Club), but this experience was disappointing. I made a reservation for my anniversary and requested a quieter table (both of which were noted in the reservation), but was seated in the loud central area of the restaurant. It was quite difficult to have a conversation with my partner and since we were seated in a busy area, my partner's seat kept getting bumped into by other guests and staff members. The food could've been better as a few dishes we wanted to order weren't available. Our server was great, but at no point did the restaurant or staff acknowledge our anniversary or wish us well.
When I made the reservation for this place to celebrate my birthday with my friends, I really had high hopes. But the reality is, the service ruined it all.
I saw some photos of this place with complimentary plates and candles for people on their birthday, so I noted on my reservation that it's my birthday event. However, the restaurant did nothing. That's... probably not something I should criticize about, but just a real bummer. The rest of the service is literally like a circus. After the main course, I still have half of my plate left when my friends finished (it's a really large lamb shank), so when the waiter took down our plates, I told him to pack my dish for me. He said okay. The weird part is, he brought me the packed dish back immediately, before our deserts came. Shouldn't you wait until we ask for the check? Why would I need it so soon?! After the deserts, my friends had a surprise birthday cake for me. It was a beautiful cake which I didn't set my eyes on for more than one minute. Because the waitress blow out my candle, bring it back to the kitchen and cut it directly without asking us. I didn't even had a chance to take a picture of it. AND, blowing out my BIRTHDAY candle?! SERIOUSLY?! What's also unacceptable is that, she didn't even bring us clean forks/spoons for the cake. When she took down the deserts, I put my dirty spoon on the plate and gave it to her. She, instead, return that dirty spoon to me while taking my plate.
Overall, I don't recommend this place. The waiter/waitress we had was just so inconsiderate. The service is just not worth the price, and let's face it, the food is not that good. The bread was really nice though, that was probably the best thing there for us.
Love this place - been here many times! My Mother and I attended this restaurant for Mother's day, and although they weren't able to accommodate our specific table request (to ease mobility concerns for Mom), they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure our meal was extra special and the service was excellent. The ambiance was impeccable and I can't wait to go back!
We had brunch on mothers’ day. We were imposed the $89 prefix mothers’ day brunch, absolutely overpriced. The service was terrible had to wait for 10min for a knife to arrive. While I was still eating the waiter took my plate. I suggest the restuarant train its staff before sending them to tables clueless with no etiquette!
The only beautiful part is the ambience. I will not go back
Our second time here, for Mother's Day, lovely prix fixe menu everything flat out delicious, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Pricey yes three of us was 363 bucks which included lobster Mac and cheese for 26 and latkes for 11 notwithstanding and nevertheless a grand meal worth every penny. Reservations an absolute must. Nosier than I like but you could still have a conversation without a problem.
We were there for almost four hours, eating and talking and having a grand time. It is that sort of restaurant, it is vibrant and a bit noisy as I said but you get lost in the grand food and feel very relaxed throughout. I have only been here last Christmas and this time so it was both on holidays, I suspect it is a tad more sedate on a regular day.
This is my third time dining at Park Avenue and the first time going there for brunch. Everything about the experience was very good except for three things:
1. The Mother's Day pre-fixe menu wasn't noted on their website and I went into the restaurant thinking it was their traditional brunch menu. Personally, this wasn't much of a problem but it could be for someone who was not planning on spending $90 per person (excluding alcohol).
2. Again, I understand that the Mother's Day set-up was probably different than traditional brunch but the tables were packed in so tight, guests were continuously bumping into each other to try to get to their seats. My mother's bag was constantly knocked off of her chair and it was just pretty awkward to have someone always pressing up against you as they walked by.
3. The "Rum Raisin Carrot Cake" was absolutely awful. It was just cream cheese covered in this bright-orange gelatin. Completely flavorless and I was surprised that this was such a disappointing end to an otherwise great meal.
Very busy on Mother’s Day, slower service and disappointed that they didn’t offer a fruit dessert. Price fix was expensive
Always been good. But the food flavor was a bit disappointing. Maybe it was mother’s day and super busy. Presentation is always good. But the taste this visit was not up to expectation. Service is as usual superb.
Hi CharlesC, Thank you for the great review.
We have dined at Park Ave many times. Totally disappointed this Mother’s Day. The menu was not a family friendly for a Mother’s Day brunch and too pricey. Service was very spotty, it was like no one knew what they were doing, our brunch lasted 3.4 hours, trying to manage a toddler for that long was challenging. Toddle’s meal arrived 15 minutes after we received our entries. My entre was not cooked to the preferred temperature ( it came very raw rather than medium). The waiter never checked back with us to see if we were please with our entres. At a price tag of $89 a person we expected much more! What happened?
Food was fine. Wine pricing is a joke and service bordered on atrocious. Would not recommend to anyone.
Dinner was just ok. Did not care for presentation of swordfish, too many conflicting tastes for the fish
Branzino was good and having 3 tiny peas seemed silly. Service was ok. Had to ask for water. First water pour got everything wet. All said tho, everyone was most pleasant.
Spring Park Avenue was an absolute delight. The decor is ethereal and fantastic and you are transported to the best of the particular season, Spring in his case. The food is excellent. They were very accommodating for a coeliac with gluten issues and made homemade bread. The waiter Marko was so nice and helpful. It is extremely good value for money. The decor alone is worth a hefty price yah and the food yet it is exceptional value. We had the bottomless brunch for with lovely unlimited Prosecco and a birthday cake for my friend for just over €100. Thank you Spring. We will be back. Hopefully for all seasons.
This place is pretty good for large parties. Pricing was reasonable. Food was mediocre but acceptable if you want a fun brunch. The bottomless brunch option is in theory great value. However, our waiter only came to our table to refill drinks twice after the first round. Because he never came to our table to refill drinks, we asked for a refill when we finally saw him when he took our bill. We were told once you pay your bill, you can't get any refill. Left a extremely bad taste in our mouths.
Great food, service was a bit lacking. If they sit you on the raised level near the window of the hallway to the bathroom please asked to be moved. The smell from the bathroom rises up and will ruin your dinner. Otherwise food was excellent, they were busy and the service wasn’t great, super slow to get anything.
I had a dietary need and the chef and restaurant was extremely accommodating
Very beautiful space. Food was delicious, BUT service was NOT good. Ignored for 20 min + then incorrect drinks etc etc...
We always just live this place. Welcoming, warm and always amazing food. Always. Service is excellent and the ambience puts this in The must go to when I have visitors in town.
Great place. You can't beat the price of brunch. It was delicious. The spring ambiance is gorgeous!
The wait forgot about our dish
They were able to take a table for 11 at the last moment and they put us in a beautiful room and took very good care of us!
A truly exceptional experience - brunch for 9 of us for my daughter's First Communion - it was PERFECT. Marco (our server) couldn't have been better. We arrived a full hour early and the team pulled together a table for us without hesitation (though we'd have been fine spending time in their pretty bar area too). Food was delicious and the setting was stunning. Thank you :) I can't wait to go back.
Honestly I was not impressed. Place was beautiful, but other than that this was your quintessential overpriced restaurant with a plate of tiny “fancy” lackluster food. I have not been somewhere like this in a long time where I left hungry and spent a fortune. That kind of thing is so old school in my opinion....
Our server oliviér was awesome!
third visit over the past couple of years...nice space....nice setting, nice ambience, excellent service.....food good but not great...prob wouldn't go back given the expense
It was ok. Food great. Waite seemed to have an attitude
We were actually disappointed in this restaurant and won’t go back! Very crowded, service so so and food lower than mediocre. My ravioli were so al dente, to the point of rubbery. Our martinis were very watered and expensive for $17 per drink. We liked our waiter and the atmosphere....but for the slow service and price......there are too many other great restaurants in NYC!
It was one of the worse dining experiences I’ve ever had in NYC and I’ve lived here for 30 years! We were seated in an over crowded loud room. There was a frantic energy. Waitress and staff running, bumping into each other, stressed and frustrated. This created a lot of tension. The waiters kept bumping into my chair due to limited space. They never apologized. I asked them to be careful but it kept going on so I got up and physically moved our table a foot. Our waitress disappeared half way through the meal. Random folks would stop by the table in a rush. A large crowd of 15 business men entered the crowded room and hovered around our table for 10 minutes while waiting for another table that ended up being too small. So they left. While we were having coffee, the staff was breaking down tables around us and carrying out chairs, lifting them over our heads to get by. They were rushing, making a lot of noise and leaving random chairs and table tops around us. I told the manager about the experience. She threw everyone under the bus, blamed them and said they shouldn’t have done it. Then walked away. People seem very unhappy there. This should never happen at a restaurant, especially at a high end, expensive establishment. We were angry, insulted, embarrassed and humiliated. Needless to say we will never return and advise all our friends to do the same.
I’ve already Recommended Park Ave., Spring to a friend! The service was great. We had the wine dinner and it was a deal! Delicious!
Great brunch at Park Avenue Spring! Lovely decor.
Dinner was delicious. The service was excellent. Save room for dessert it’s a must have!
Hi LeeR, Thank you for your review. We are looking to have you back again soon.
I made a large group reservation at Park Avenue Spring for my birthday brunch. The entire party loved the food as well as the bottomless prosecco bar option. Service was fantastic and servers were kind and attentive. Ambiance was wonderful as usual as were decorations. Would definitely recommend brunch here for a special occasion or special treat!
10 out of 10. Celebrated my birthday, mother's day, and special moments. Never disappointed. Service is outstanding, dishes are unique and delightful, ambiance is perfect and the portions are generous. My favorite restaurant in downtown.
Hi, We are so happy to hear that you are a fan of our Restaurant. I will share this with the whole team. Thank you again.
The food and service was absolutely amazing. The value of the prefixe wine dinner was great. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.
