Park Avenue Autumn

First rate concept, the whole restaurant from food to decor changes with the seasons....we ate in Autumn which I believe changes to winter on 3rd December or thereabouts. We dined on a Sunday and took advantage of the wine dinner which gives you three courses plus wine tastings for $69 per head, this is also available on other evenings but after 8:30pm only. Food was all excellent, sophisticated ingredients and presentation...wine choice was good with 4-5 to choose from, they were offered to match your food but you could select what you preferred and top up as many times as you like. Decor was atmospheric and the service and staff were excellent, very good value for NYC which felt generally quite expensive this trip!
This was not our first time at park ave autumn, but it was our favorite. From start to finish we had such an amazing evening. Our waiter, Marco, overheard it was my moms birthday and he made sure to make the evening extra special. My dad started with the butternut squash soup and my mom and I had decided to skip an app but Marco brought us over our own soups as well. I had the salmon for dinner which was cooked to perfection. The special of the evening was the Dover sole which was also great. Marco ended the night by giving us a complimentary s’mores dessert which again, AMAZING. Let’s not forget for the autumn time period they start us off with the most amazing, warm, pumpkin spiced bread which we could have had as our entrees. Please make it over to this restaurant before the season changes, oh and ask for Marco :)
Have been visiting the restaurant for past two years. The quality is getting worse and service too. The menu barely changes from season to season. They expanded the restaurant space to fit more customers and now it looks like a cheap deli.
Had dinner at this restaurant multiple times and had great time. However, yesterday was a complete disaster in terms of service.Waited over 40 min for bread and appetizers. What are it worse is that we came specifically for wine dinner and had to look and call for our waitress every time we needed a glass of wine. Glasses were never changed, white wine was poured into the same glass where red wine was . The only thing the waitress said was that she has other tables to attend. Had to speak to the manager at the the end but nothing was done to remedy the situation. Normally, the restaurants of this caliber offer some kind of a credit to make up for the mess. It's shame.. Food as good as usual but with this kind of services, there are plenty of other places in NYC
Service was extremely slow and food was ok but expected much better for the price. The dining area was crowded and we felt we were jammed in with other diners.
The waiter service is slow
We did the wine dinner. Good value, if you want a lot to drink, but the wines were meh at best and not matched to the food in any way. Service was spotty -- depended on the person. Some really good, some so-so. Ability to handle gluten free diners was cursory and unimpressive. Some lousy "white bread," served without oil or butter, and virtually no knowledge on the part of the server as to what gluten even is. Gluten used in making risotto, ice cream, even sorbet.
I’m a businessman from CA and this is the fifth time I’ve been to the restaurant over the past 12 months. I would simply say that the food last week was just OK. I had the scallops and we had the pumpkin ravioli appetizer. Both were served a bit cold and not up to the standards I expect. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great.
Very tiny plates, though the food is great I question if it’s worth the price.
I’ve dined at Park Ave many times. The staff seem tired and nasty. The hostess and bartender in particular were unfriendly and seemed annoyed. The staff needs to be trained to be more accommodating.
Nothing special. It’s OK to go out, though pricy, but not for special occasion.
Such a nice atmosphere! Food is great and service top notch. All offerings in keeping with the season and the wine pairings are great too!
Amazing menu from appetizer to dessert. Good wine choices.
We dined there for an early anniversary dinner. We were visiting from Atlanta, GA. Our server was amazing!! He explained everything on the menu. There were a few “surprises” along the way. They took care of us, and we had a great meal.
Park Avenue fall is a lovely setting for a good experience. The food is good enough but I think it’s the ambiance that is the main reason I go there. Service is also good.
Food was delicious and our waiter Vlad was terrific. No complaints!
Always enjoy Park Ave - the wine dinner is awesome. Dining room can get a little loud but its great.
Park Avenue "Autumn" was a treat on so many levels. The ambiance was relaxed and comfortable while still being festive with sparkly details. The seasonal "Autumn" menu offered a phenomenal pork schnizel, tender succulent and flavorful. I enjoyed the grilled cod special over a mushroom risotto. The Vegan menu allowed our guests to enjoy the delicious savory roasted acorn squash with wild mushrooms and a dairy-free rotelle pasta with grilled veggies. My endive salad was a bid wilted. The service was sensational, attentive and pro-active. I will eagerly return for the spring or summer offerings. Great find at a good value.
The restaurant was beautiful but the food was a bit too salty for my taste.
Autumn may be the best season at Park Avenue. The dishes were brilliantly done, with flavors that perfectly complemented each other and made you want to savor every bite. The service was on the slow side and the restaurant has gotten louder than it used to be (more hip now, less hospitable for an older, more staid crowd), but the food was really enjoyable. Not cheap though for sure.
We hadn’t been to Park Ave for a while and were concerned that it would be stuffy - we were 100% wrong. It was great! The rooms are warm & inviting. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Although the menu is concise, there’s something offered for everyone. Another point that should be mentioned is portion size. Many restaurants at this tier offer tiny portions. The portion size at Autumn are normal dinner sized! Go! You’ll thank me later.
Great food and service in a beautiful setting!
Server was very kind and food was delicious!
We try to get here for every season. Service is always exceptional and the Sunday brunch is perfection! I tell everyone to go there.
Our bride said Yes to the dress- we had a fabulous celebratory lunch- our waiter Chris was outstanding Park
Avenue has been our go to place for major events in our lives-
Thank you for always being consistent
Very pleasant service and good selection of entrées to appeal to any palate. My only issue with the service was the wine by the glass. Not stored well and thus the red wines were served too warm. More attentive sommelier required.
The food was delicious with layers of flavor in each bite. The duck was cooked welled and paired with a delightful mix. The famous broccoli Cheetos side dish was not bad, seems more like a novelty more than anything. The restaurant service was great though I’m not too sure if the waiter really understood all the intolerances our group had.
A very uneven, largely mediocre experience. Had alerted the restaurant that it was a birthday. They never acknowledged it and selected a particularly crummy table sandwiched between two large groups. The waiter never stopped pushing drinks but then vanished for long periods of time. Water went unrefilled. One appetizer was delicious, the other had sat and gone cold before service. The mains were both fine, one was quite good. We declined dessert because most of them seemed unappealing (aggressively sweet or overly complex). It took near 20 minutes to get the check. No one acknowledged our departure.
Food was great, service was not. Waiter barley checked in and had an issue with the bill that required speaking to the manager, who was incredibly abrasive.
Very expensive for very average food. The wine was good but so dear. Disappointing.
I always bring my out of town friends and family here. They really take care of you and go the extra mile to make your meal an experience!!
If glamping was a restaurant this would be it. The setting/ building was fancy but rustic. I loved the monkey bread, warm soft, crispy on the outside... The butternut squash soup with the gingerbread croutons was simple yet creatively different. The shrimp was served in an apple like slaw was good, but the shrimp was way too salty. Is that normal for gulf shrimp? I would totally come back though. The desserts sounded amazing.
We were a table of 12 cousins reuniting for brunch and we could not have picked a better place. The service was amazing and gracious. The food was so delicious. They helpfully accommodated our one vegan . The Prosecco was flowing. What a great restaurant. Thank you!!
Favorite restaurant for a reason - food, service and ambiance always exceed expectations!
Great service. It was our first time at this restaurant for brunch. Very good food. A very enjoyable Time!
I used to love this restaurant when it was uptown and the food was really good. Now the food is quantity over quality, nothing refined or special about any of it, and very fully priced. The wait service was good and pleasant, and the bread offered was excellent. The noise in the main dining room was so loud that despite a reservation, we asked to be seated next to the bar, where it was quieter. It will take a lot for me to give this restaurant another try.
Excellent food and atmosphere. I had the venison which was cooked perfectly. My companion had a fish entree which she totally enjoyed. The wine pairings were perfect. Our server answered all of our questions and his recommendations were spot on. I would describe the ambience as a step above casual, nicely romantic, comfortable, unpretentious and amazing. I will definitely be coming back.
I regret going here and left quite embarrassed by the poor food and drink quality after bringing a work client here.
Great Fall menu. Wasn’t anticipating the restaurant being as noisy/loud as it was. Enjoyable evening despite the noisy atmosphere.
The service was horrible. The food has gone down in quality. So disappointed.
