had a pretty loud group next to us , they conversation was annoying but oh well we were in a nice restaurant. place was packed but staff was hustling to take care of everyone. The Chef stopped by to take our order, great to see him help his staff. Kenny our waiter was busy running around but stil made us feel like he was paying attention to us. Outstanding food, outstanding service . Thank you for a great night
This was my 2nd time here. I tried their bone-in double thick pork chop. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The pork chop was delicious and very tender. The green beans were also excellent. The potatoes were delicious, but it was more of a pure rather than a mash and there wasn't enough potato.
Overall, the food was delicious! I will be back.
Let's start with something positive. Although they could not accommodate a reservation on time, even though they had it 1/3 empty dining room are experienced dining at the bar was terrific. The bartenders serving as waiters friendly attentive and accommodating. The"Jumbo shrimp cocktail" at $19 was a rip off. These were medium frozen shrimp. Tasteless. I ordered deliver and onion special. The smallest portion I have ever seen served almost raw and without the onions. When I sent it back they simply re-cooked what they brought out, including the pieces I had cut up and did not replace the vegetables. Walking around I saw their almost $50 ribeye steak which looks like something you would get at norms with the side eggs. My wife ordered the salmon, which was quite good and properly prepared but with a teeny dollop of fresh vegetables. I should add that it took over 30 minutes to get us our entrées. So my take, after not having been there for a few years is that the place is going downhill. Steaks and chops are overpriced, the portions are tiny and if the shrimp cocktail is any indication, there's a lot of frozen food being served. So, bad service from the kitchen, substandard quality and poor handling of a severely under cooked tiny tinypiece of liver means this customer will not be back.
The food is always amazing. I didn't feel like drinking this time and ordered a diet coke. I was shocked to find a room temperature can of Diet Coke and a glass of ice. Pouring warm soda over ice = a flat, bad tasting drink. They couldn't even store it in a refrigerator? I returned it and had water instead.
Next time, I finally need to try out Il Garage. Seems like another great experience to be had...
We always enjoy park ave. However not their fault but i booksd open table using a $50 reward i modified my reservation and apparently it took out the reward they could not find it pleae credit me back for another$50. I also purchased a $100 gift card on yelp which took me to their website but didnt realize it sent me to open tanle where i purchased the gift card ... appreciate heAring back
We were at Park Avenue to celebrate birthdays and 2 people in our group had never been there. 3 of us opted for their Sunday special fried chicken dinner, which is a great value and delicious to boot! Salads are large and delicious, warm bread to munch on. You get 4 generous pieces of chicken, homemade mashed potatoes and that evening freshly grown string beans, that are grown on the premises. We also enjoyed their homemade ginger ale--a raspberry and a pomagranite so refreshing! We got a chocolate cake with candles for birthdays and the cake that came with dinner with whipped cream and fresh fruit---truly a wonderful evening. Our friends are now lifelong lovers of Park Avenue.
Food and service is always very good at Park Ave. The bartender should learn more about which glass to use for different types of beers. I ordered a Belgian beer and they use a flute type glass. I ask our server to bring one more suited to this type of beer.
I've been a fan of Park Ave. (PA) since the chef-owned restaurant in Stanton first opened. The building is part of a compound that sits on what was once a dairy. At the location, Chef Slay has incorporated both Park Ave. (a stand-alone building that houses a full bar, main dining room, and back occasion rooms) and Il Garage (an open covered patio that sits next to the onsite chef's garden). Inside PA you'll find warm amber lighting (not too dark) and soothing earthy colors with well-placed glass and mirror opening the room up visually. A high ceiling helps reduce noise, but PA is anything but stuffy. From the minute you walk in, you feel welcomed and at home.
The food at PA is an updated Americana menu using seasonal and local ingredients with an upscale vibe. Servings are reasonably-sized for the price. Offerings include salads using greens and herbs from the garden, homemade soups, fresh made breads, a variety of meats (I've had excellent scallops, halibut, steak, fried chicken, and stuffed pork chops on different occasions), and fantastic fresh desserts (flourless chocolate cake and bread pudding with bourbon sauce are two that I've had). I appreciate both the attention to detail and the care given to both meat and veg - sides are not an afterthought here!
On this occasion I was hosting three friends for dinner while taking advantage of the yearly flatiron steak and frites dinner special (one person ordered the Sunday night fried chicken dinner). Service was prompt, and were given ample time for each course. When the bill did arrive, we were told there was no rush. Everyone at the table cleaned their plate and we were invited to stroll the grounds after dinner. As always, nothing but compliments for PA!
It was our anniversary and they put us at a 2 two top by the door and when we asked for a better table they put us in the corner by a table of 15. There were booths available. Ribeye was cold. Had to send back. Rib eye was reheated instead of giving us a new dinner, so it was now overdone. They forgot my vegetable with my scallops and the brown rice was overdone and could break a tooth. Overall... a really bad experience.

We actually ate at Il Garage which is a wonderful outdoor space next to the garden ( for the restaurant). The owner and the manager were there to make sure that we had every thing we needed and that we were enjoying ourselves.. very pleasant evening!

2nd time we ate there. Accommodated my request to be moved to a different booth, greatly appreciated that. The food and ambiance are outstanding, we really like this place. Server was nice and attentive, but lacked experience and finesse. Didn't tell us at all about the menu or the storied history of the restaurant; didn't mention the outdoor garden or Il Garage. Wasn't helpful with menu selections, he just didn't know. Unable to recommend wines. I ordered a glass of wine and noted it was to be brought with dinner, 2 minutes later it was served while we were still on appetizers (fine, I let it breathe). Presented the bill then returned to collect it while I was in the middle of a conversation with my client, hadn't even looked at the bill or put the credit card down to show him we're ready. Then never came back. For fast casual a basic 'server' who just takes your order is fine, but when you're at a great restaurant and spending $$$, it's inadequate. Last time we ate there our server was outstanding in every way, a big reason we returned. Anyway in the scheme of our evening it was a minor disappointment, we had a great meal and we'll return!
