Parizade Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I come here every year to celebrate Valentines Day. The Mediterranean inspired menu is always delightful with seafoord, beef and vegetarian dishes. I ordered the sea bass which came whole, slightly crispy with exotic seasonings on the outside and perfectly cooked fish, easily flaked with a fork on the inside. My wife enjoyed the Italian seafood risotto which was also wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. We shared the Valentines chocolate torte for two which was a sweet culinary adventure. Our waiter was professional and friendly, adding to the memorable experience.
For a well traveled and knowledgeable person as I am the food didn’t impress me much.
As for the presentation an improvement could be done to make this restaurant a WOW type of establishment.
The food was ok... but you can eat the same if not better in other restaurants around the area.
My friend called the general manager to let him know that she always refers people to go there to eat... and he stated “I’ll make sure you dinner is superb if not better”... and that was the last time we saw him.
As it was a special occasion for us and many people that were there... our experience was just OK.
There is room for improvement!!!
We were seated on the far side of the dining room. There was a big open space beyond us. It was quite drafty and cold throughout the meal.
Our server was just OK - forgot to bring the wine list and when he did, he immediately asked if we wanted to order drinks. His timing was just a bit off all night.
Our entrees tasted good. $22 for a plate of vegetarian pasta, however, was no value at all.
Bottom line - I don't think I'll be going back.
Food was good and enjoyed by each member of our party. Service was good but server didn't remember the "to go" part of the order and seemed a little too busy and distracted. Still, refilled drinks a couple of times and waits for steps in the meal process weren't excessive. Overall good.
They were backed up in the kitchen and we had to wait a long time for our food. But they more than made up for this by giving us extra glasses of wine and free desserts! This remains one of my very favorite restaurants in Durham, with excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere.
Were looking for a nicer place, close to home that was open on a Monday. Hadn't been to Parizade in years, but thought we'd give it a try. The food was OK - my fish, for example, was not cooked consistently through, but had an OK flavor. The three chocolate dessert was, without adequate description in the menu, just three pieces of chocolate candy - not worth $9. I would say overall it was an average experience, but with so many really good and more reasonably priced options in town, I doubt we will be back again.
Had an excellent meal, including some delectable lamb keftedes. Switched it up on the main course, and the salmon did not disappoint. My wife had the pork, which had amazing Brussels sprouts. Opted to do desert, and the orange cake was to die for. Highly recommend for a special occasion or for small groups that like to share/try different meals. FYI - some of the mains are on the smaller side, so anticipate an appetizer and/or salad if you are a big eater.
Lively, attractive restaurant. Waiter was very good; food was excellent. Somewhat pricey, and my table was closest to the front door on a very cold night. Once the prime arrival time passed, the cold air problem disappeared. It was good enough that I would look forward to going again.
We had to wait 15 minutes although we had a reservation. A bit crowded, tables close together. Our waiter seemed a bit manic. It is a classy restaurant, with cloth napkins and a well set table. Our waiter didn't offer us a wine menu; he came and retrieved it before I even knew it was there.
Our fish was served warm. Maybe if plates were heated the food would have stayed warmer longer. Also seems we were missing the rice that the server mentioned in her description. So overall C+ or B-.
We needed to wear our winter coats inside because the front door lets in so much cold air. Ask to sit wayyyyyyyyy in the back away from the gusts of cold wind and order hot tea. Disappointed.
Excellent as usual for Parizade! Always elegant and delicious! Our server was top notch. Christopher made us feel like we were his only table. He was courteous and very proud of the restaurant. Servers like him are very hard to find anymore. I highly recommend Parizade! A wonderful restaurant!
The veteran staff is as extraordinary as the food and drinks. We love Parizade for every day lunches, special occasion dinners, Easter brunch and special events in the back room. The restaurant week dinner was no exception to the wonderful experience we repeatedly enjoy here.
We have been to Parizade many times and took the opportunity to dine there during Restaurant Week. The special menu had several good options. Restaurant was very busy and pretty noisy the night we visited, but service was excellent and food was delicious. We will be back again.
We had chosen Parizade for dinner prior to a concert at Baldwin Auditorium at Duke before we knew that it was Triangle restaurant week. That was a bonus to us and we all ordered from the dinner week menu. The four of us all tried different things, all of which were delicious. The waiter was attentive but didn't rush us allowing us to have a very enjoyable evening. We highly recommend and plan to go again soon!
