About
We recommend this highly! We are never disappointed--unless they are out of our first choice, which doesn't happen often. A special treat for gluten free people--buckwheat crepes on lunch menu--and they are delicious! New menu just recently so we're looking forward to trying some new items.
We asked waiter to have the duck cooked well done it came back rare and had to send it back, my partner had finished her meal before I started mine. We asked that the ice cream part of the dessert be in a separate bowl because of a dairy allergy and it came directly on top of the pie. It seemed like total lack of concern by the wait staff.
My wife and I live nearby and wanted to head up to the main street for dinner. We checked and there were open reservations pretty immediately available. We’ve been here once before and enjoyed it so we figured it was an easy choice.
Beautiful space and wonderful staff made the visit delightful. The food was exceptional, as expected.
Extremely dissapointed in Lamb chop charged $34 for one lamb completely unacceptable
We were celebrating our grown daughter’s birthday with her sister and the evening was perfect. Our daughter loves French food and the Paris Bistro did not disappoint. The food, the service, the ambience were all wonderful. Everyone on the staff went out of their way to make the evening special and memorable. We were visiting from out of town but will definitely return when we are next in the Philadelphia area. Bob and Diane Kramer
Great experience. Servers, bartender all were stellar. Food was delicious, as usual.
Father’s Day brunch was very good but limited options and overpriced.
Food was excellent, as was the service!
Love this place, we ate upstairs and then went downstairs for the hot club show
Everything was excellent! Couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience.
I have eaten here any times but apparently the chef changes the preparation of the salmon to almost a
bar-b-que favor, or at least the glaze on top. The old way was preferable to me w/o the heavy glaze. Everything else was excellent but I will certainly ask before I order it the next time!
Excellent food and service
The service exceeded even the food, whose preparation and ingredients were without fault. Such a comfortable space and welcoming staff, paired with an equally capable kitchen is always a treat, and far too rare these days.
This was a very good place for outside brunch. Croissants and appetizers were the highlight. They serve delicious gourmet coffee, far better than most restaurants.
Fabulous as always
Very disappointed at dining experience. Frequent diner at Paris Bistro and this is the first time there was a problem. The food order took a long time arriving but that was okay we were enjoying our drinks and appetizers. What was not okay was the chicken was not cook thoroughly and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The waitress did leave the accompanying vegetable (which was nice). However, the chicken was taking an very long time to return that I wasn't interested in eating. Rather than deleting the whole chicken order it was boxed up with a 10% discount. I feel that is a totally unacceptable resolution to the problem and will not return.
We enjoyed the food and service the decor make us feel we were in Paris. We definitely will come back again. My only critique is the bread was hard as a rock using the microwave perhaps? Is a detail but customers expect warm soft bread with their meal. I think it will be nice if they serve mini croissants bite size will compliment their Paris theme. Over all it was a pleasant experience.
Wonderful wait staff, excellent food. Lovely evening!
Terrific meal and service. Just right for date night.
Lovely place with excellent food
This is one of our favorite places in Philly! And sitting outside on a beautiful night made it even better!!!
The wait staff was friendly and Daniel was very knowledgeable. We were given complimentary prosecco as 2 of us were celebrating respective birthdays. They could expand the lunch menu or add daily specials. We had to ask for bread and butter as we were hdlf way through our lunch andvwere expecting it. A French bistro should offer that up front. One friend enjoyed her hachi crepe. My avocado/crab could have had more crab and avocado. The French onion soup in the croque was fine. We would return because if location and ambience. We do prefer their Sunday brunch menu.
Waiter was not attentive.
I think for the prices, the food is only moderately good. I had the beet salad as an appetizer and it only had two or three beets and a bit of greens for 13 dollars. The trout was nice and worth the money but I think a salad should be included. My husband liked the salmon and he and our friends had the onion soup which they seemed to like. The waiter was very accommodating and I had a good wine, (moscadet) at a reasonable price per glass. We did not have dessert.
Overall the restaurant is pleasant and has a nice atmosphere. Where we sat, the noise was not bad at all.
Unfortunately this was a very disappointing dining experience. We waited 30 minutes after being seated before we even had our drink orders taken and then another 15 minutes before we got them. The service overall was horrible. In terms of the food, the beet salad was too salty to eat and 2 of our 4 main courses very mediocre. We had been to Paris Bistro before and enjoyed our meals but this time the service and food were truly disappointing.
Monday. enjoyed the whole experience. The music was great ,atmosphere great along with the food.
Great spur of moment Mothers Day pick. Great wine choices and fine French dishes. It’s a bistro so it’s not quiet. But quiet enough.
Great Mother’s Day dinner with my daughter. Wonderful service and meal suggestions. Not sure why I’m not dining there more often!
I expected the food to be better than it was, despite the fact it was Mother’s Day. Both entrees ordered were mediocre in that they were over cooked. The filet was as tough as the chicken and both required a steak knife and my actually standing up to be able to apply enough pressure to cut them. I don’t understand how 2 very basic dishes, roasted chicken and filet could go so wrong. The wait staff was kind. They brought out some complimentary pasta to make amends. It however, was lathered in butter. I do t think I will be returning. Shame...
The Mother's Day buffet was awesome and balanced. French staples along with plain 'ole American cuisine...
Buffet was great, Service exceptional. They should impose a basic dress code especially on Mother's Day
Really an all around fantastic experience. We went for mother’s day Brunch and while it wasn’t inexpensive, it was worth every penny. The food was delicious, the staff was attentive and friendly with out hovering, the atmosphere was beautiful and did I mention the food was delicious? My family and I will definitely be going back if not for weekly meet ups, then certainly for special occasions.
Really good food and service
Great atmosphere. Visiting the Paris Bistro & Jazz Cafe reminded me of my time living overseas. The small tables, close to the other parties, the specialized menu and the service. It was like a jaunt down memory lane. Our server was very nice but seemed to have to many tables to remember serving us. I often had to flag her down for service. We didn't even get our bread basket. We ordered the mussels as a starter. They were supposed to be saffron and curry sauce but ultimately tasted like garlic and butter sauce. They were good but not what we expected. The mains came out shortly after. I had the trout which was recommended and was full of flavor. My mother had the steak frites. The fried however tasted like they were previously frozen and let down the rest of the plate. All in all I would return to try a few other classic items but it's not making the top list of places to visit anytime soon.
We had a great time the people were friendly the food great and jazz wonderful!
This is a lovely room with good traditional food well prepared. Service was friendly and helpful.
I truly recommend this french restaurant for experiencing the French cuisine and atmosphere of a great capital, Paris.
Did we hit upon a bad day for lunch? Don’t know. Place was empty. Terribly slow service to the point of being ridiculous. 45 minutes for a salad. 30 minutes for a dessert crepe. The beet salad is not a salad. It’s a few pieces of beets on a plate. They were good, but it’s 3 bites, so order as an appetizer, but not a meal. Very misleading. And like I said - the chef was MIA and it took almost an hour for that. Fries were good, though.
Such a beautiful luncheon to fete a wonderful friend! The food was outstanding and the service perfect!
