Wonderful service and wonderful food. This was my third time dining at Paris, and it never disappoints!
Our waiter was awful..... never refilled a water glass took 3 hours to get dinner and was rude
Always love eating here! Went for lunch on Sunday and there was acoustic guitar, very enjoyable.
Corey was an attentive and knowledgeable server. He made some excellent food and wine pairing suggestions. Lovely evening.
Lovely place. Food was delicious. Service was sweet, but a bit slow.
Pleasant atmosphere and attentive service, but our lunch wasn’t very tasty. I had the crab avocado salad and it had no flavor. The coq au vin crepe was dry, bland and the chicken was overcooked. The salmon was also overcooked. This was my first visit but price point/quality/satisfaction combined, the likely my last.
First time visiting and I will be back soon. Authentic french menu, posh atmosphere, comfortable seating... I rate my experience 4.5 out of 5.
The service was great, almost impeccable; I would give 5 stars but I appreciate when the attending waiter asks if they can remove your plate without assuming...
entree was very good -(trout) - service was very good -desert (chocolate mousse) meh- noise level fair I would like Paris Bistro to experiment with having no music during dinner. the level of conversation noise was enough of a hurdle to hear one's partner comfortably.
The food and service are excellent; however, the wine pours are extremely stingy and the prices are extremely high. Just go for special occasions - not everyday dining. And be sure to buy your own bottle.
Too noisy but the rest was perfect
Wonderful place for quiet lunch. The Salmon Nicoise was absolutely delicious! My friends Crab Avocado was a small portion for lunch but she enjoyed the flavors.
I will definitely return here.
Server Larry was especially helpful and did everything he could to see that our meal was enjoyed. An excellent waiter.
Lovely restaurant with fantastic food. Everything was delicious! Consistent and creative.
We requested a specific table when we placed the reservation and, despite the fact that the table we had requested was open when we arrived (and for about another hour), the 2 hostesses insisted they were not permitted to seat us there. We questioned this but to no avail. This was completely non-sensical. We requested to speak to the manager but whoever it was never stopped by the table we were seated at.
We had also indicated on the reservation form that it was for a birthday but that didn’t seem to matter at all.
Off the list.....
Food was great but they charged me $30 to sit in the basement “jazz cafe” without asking if that was ok, even after I made a reservation. Then the band was some Elvis/rockabilly band. Not even jazz.
I've eyed this place many times since moving to the NW part of the city, but finally had cause to go. It's a very nice space, and the people working there were extremely friendly and accommodating to us with our toddler. (We ate on the earlier end, before it was very busy.) It's essentially comfort food, as French bistro food generally is, but dressed up a little fancier. We had some excellent seafood, French onion soup, and beef. There was nothing too exotic or adventurous, and it was all very well prepared.
excellent wine list at reasonable prices and fantastic French bistro food
I have been here a number of times and it is very spotty. Brunch was good, and it is a good value. Problem is with the staff. We had reserved on OT, and when we arrived there was a guitarist (very nice) BUT they wanted to seat us at a table where all we could hear was the guitar and could not have a conversation. There were numerous empty spots, some with reserved signs, some not. We asked about numerous tables (all "reserved"). The "hostess" (tall, long hair, striped trousers) was totally disinterested, seemed annoyed by our request and acted like she was head hostess at Balthazar in NY - except they're nice and professional at Balthazar (get over yourself, we're New Yorkers, you're not and you would last 5 minutes with your fake attitude- this is friendly Chestnut Hill!!). Then the tall waitress with glasses who we have always had odd encounters with in the past came over acting all pretentious waving her hands around saying over and over "all the tables are reserved for certain people, we wish we could help." Well, we found a little table by the door WITHOUT THEIR "HELP" and she was just all over herself (I don't know why, she did zero and is VERY VERY annoying). When we left several of the "reserved" tables were STILL UNOCCUPIED - 2 HRS LATER. The best part of brunch was our VERY NICE AND FRIENDLY male waiter - forget his name, he may have had glasses. Super nice and professional. And like I said, brunch was good, breads are good, good value, pretty place. Just ditch the hostess and that waitress, please.
The food and service was amazing!!!!!! Definitively going back!!!
Paris Bistro is my go-to place for any kind of special occasion. It is a charming restaurant in the heart of Chestnut Hill with creative French cuisine and good ambiance. Ordinarily, I would give Paris Bistro straight 5's, but this time the steak on my steak frites was overdone. They offered to redo it but I was not interested in waiting while others were eating. Other than that, it was a delight as always.
Food was very tasty. Gnocchi dish was excellent and the special sheep entree was excellent. The appetizer of Brie was excellent but thought it was pricey for the size.
Hmm. I had known about Paris Bistro for years but never been because I had not heard good reports. But then it was bought by the folks who own Campbell's (which is a local standard) so it seemed worth a try. Our server was very enthusiastic and helpful. The ambiance is tired. The menu is good but sort of cliched. The quality of the food was so so. One dish came out with a long black hair, so we returned it. Overall, I guess I don't see why we would go back when there are a range of other places to eat nearby. But I guess if you like French bistro food and decor it is worth a try.
Great experience on a quiet Monday night. Their Manager/Sommelier gave excellent attention and pairings and the server was equally attentive. Food was great, as usual, and you have to love the Monday buck a shuck oysters.
Our waitress Giovanni was incredible, and the service was on point!
Been to Paris bistro many times and never disappointed
Going to brunch tomorrow
Went with a friend to have a girl's night out. Service was excellent. Ordered Cheeseplate for 5 (knowing it would be small) for $22 (bit steep) and one beet salad to share. The salad was yummy, but literally 3 bites and it was gone for $13. The wine was good, but also a bit high in price. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, but would love for them to consider lowering their prices or increasing their portions just a bit.
Great Dinner at the upstairs bar with Denise in the Bistro. Went Downstairs to the Jazz Cafe Speakeasy Awesome Music and small fee of $15 Well worth it, Rob the bartender did a great job with cocktail as well and dessert. Special Place for great french food and wide range of wines on the wine list.
Always stellar with great ambiance, awesome service, and fantastic food.
Great food, great ambiance, great experience.
We had a remarkable meal this Friday. wonderful .
Really liked their white bordeaux. the escargot are terrific. striped bass special was amazing - wonderful
Great food & service!
Restaurant is great but every time I dine here it takes way to long to receive your drinks. The bar is always understaffed.
Superb service. Food was quite delicious. I highly recommend starting with the escargot! The delightful croutons are perfect for soaking up all of that garlic and herb infused butter.
My sister and I and our husbands were celebrating our birthday. Excellent food. My brother-in-law couldn't believe that octopus was on the menu (it was an appetizer). He ordered it and thoroughly enjoyed it as we did all the food. We were too full to order dessert even though I was looking forward to the French Almond Cake which I had at another visit.
We've eaten here several times, and have always enjoyed it, until this time. The food is generally excellent, but this time, the service was atrocious. We didn't know which of the many servers who came to our table of 4 was responsible for making sure we were attended to - apparently no one. We were not told about any specials of the day; maybe there was none, but there was at least a soup du jour, though we didn't learn what it was. When a glass of red wine was delivered instead of the white ordered, it was many minutes before the correct wine was delivered. When a glass of wine was ordered before the entree was served, it was not delivered until after the entree had been eaten and the plate taken away, and after we had told one of the servers to cancel the order because it was too late to drink it. We waited for a long time between courses, and had to ask for bread and for more water. Our disappointment with the service (needing to be constantly on the alert to find someone for one request or another) overwhelmed what would have been an otherwise enjoyable, delicious meal.
Wonderful food & service, charming place! Loved the classical guitarist at Sunday brunch!
We had excellent service from every person who came to our table, especially our server. Great French dishes and a good variety of options. Mushroom Bisque soup was to die for!!!
Food was delicious! Service was impeccable. Save for a special occasion as the meal was quite pricey. I had the scallops and my husband had the duck. He claims it was the best duck he has ever had.
The food was very good. The crab avacado salad was exceptional. The portion of scallops was a little light for the price
Nice French decor. Meals were delicious. Staff was well-mannered and efficient; not pretentious. We weren't rushed, although we arrived on the early side for dinner (at 5:30). It became louder as time went on.
