We went on a rainy Saturday evening - we had an early reservation but it still took a full 2+ hours to get out. Understaffed and inattentive waiter. Got a bread basket but no bread plates. Took 40 minutes to get our drinks. A tip of 20% is pre-built into the bill so little incentive to improve service. Food was fine, but left disappointed because with that setting the whole experience could have been so much better.

I always love going to Parc de Ville, but this time was a little different. We had reservations at 8:15pm but we didn’t get sat until 8:45pm. I understand that it was a bit busy, but 30mins is a bit long. Our hostess was apologetic, but nothing else after that. Also, the Cesar salad was a bit bland. Really had no flavor. Like the chief forgot the dressing or something. Although this was my first time really having issues with Parc de Ville, I plan on going back again.

Cons: Bad service -Cranky hostess with unfriendly attitude when we arrived for reservation early -Waitress was nice but changed our tab (and didn't tell us) while we were paying via QR code which threw off the split check -Manager lectured our table on how steak is hard to cook Medium throughout. Never comp'd meal for being served overcooked steak then a raw one after being encouraged to go Medium rare. Pros: -cute date ambience -rooftop bar

Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment. There was a limited menu for brunch, and even when trying to make small adjustments (using what menu items were available) the server stated that was not an option. So we ended up ordering multiple dishes, to create the one dish modification. In addition, the server we had was not attentive. We could tell there may have only been two, and one was hustling and moving across her tables swiftly, busing her own tables and still had to step in and assist all guests, as our server was at the bar area, not helping diners, but just chit chatting and talking. We had to ask for water refills multiple times, to the extent we needed additional silverware and had to go and get these items ourselves. When we asked for our check, one of the young ladies from the kitchen who delivered food to the table, gave us a stern "what" as if we were interrupting her by asking, but we only did it as we were not able to get the attention of our server. We selected this location as we were celebrating a birthday, and the birthday girl loves French food, but even she said this was a poor showing of the cuisine.

Worst. Service. Ever. I don't know why there was only one server on a Sunday afternoon for the entire place. It was so bad that the hostess had to step in to manage our table, but she also quickly became unavailable. We had countless problems with getting things we needed, and in the end, we gave up entirely. Be warned - all checks are automatically charged a minimum of a 20% tip which could be a reason why they don't care about service. When leaving, I asked management about whether they normally only had one server available on Sundays and she was pretty flippant about it.

Food was the best we had in the DC area in years. Salmon and sea bass were excellent. Drink was delicious. Salad big. Staff tried hard to please. Like many restaurants, they are short staffed. Minor stuff like no one checked water bottle. Overall excellent. Will be back soon.

We enjoyed our evening and meal at Parc de Ville. The food and service were better than just good. But we will not be going back to becasue they have a 20% mandatory tip that is added to the bill no matter what. That is just a sneaky way for the owners to aviod paying the staff higher wages and paying the associated state and federal taxes that go along with higher wages. That ends up being a scam and disohnesty to your customers. A menu item does not cost $25.00 but rather $25.00 plus 20% more. That is basic dishonesty. The owners need to be honest and raise their menu prices and then pay their staff more along with the associated taxes. The place was enjoyable and we would like to go back but we will not until their %20 mandatory tip changes!! I am only saying that I would recomment the place with a full explaination of the mandatory %20 tip!!

Rooftop is lovely; detracted somewhat from the experience to get up and go to the bar to order food and drink, given the process charged I would have expected better service. Our bartender was cheerful, friendly, and skilled, but he had all he could do and it wasn't even crowded.

Parc de Ville is simply a wonderful restaurant with exceptionally friendly and helpful waitstaff. I have eaten here many times and am never disappointed. As someone with celiac disease I am especially thankful that I can order most of the menu, as opposed to being stuck eating a burger without a bun. The food is authentically French and delicious. Mussels arrived at the table covered in fresh thyme and sage: fabulous.

The atmosphere was pleasant as was the staff. The food was good - well prepared, fresh, presented nicely. French food is just a bit bland for me. We went to the rooftop after dinner and enjoyed a drink while listening to the jazz fusion band, Stone Mallard, which was very enjoyable.

Place has such potential but not living up to it yet. Service was great. Nice friendly staff. Reasonable corkage fee. Food needs improvement. The escargot dish had maybe 2 in it, the rest was filled with button mushrooms, and a slice of bread. Tasted decent though. They didn’t have the country pate which was a main reason for coming. Bib lettuce salad also tasted decent, but was not all bib lettuce. They had romaine lettuce underneath. Why?! Smash burger, vegetarian bucatini, chicken liver pate, and French fries were good.

They were out of the beer we wanted to drink, the $18 glass of white wine was a small pour and served warm, they were out of the fish we wanted to eat, then second choice of salmon they can only cook medium rare or well done. The waiter was just okay. Think incentive for waitstaff is nonexistent since service charge is included in your bill even if you are a table of 2. I so wanted this to be a good experience. We won’t be back.

Parc de Ville is a worthy of the STARR Restaurant Group, and is equal in all respects to the others in the STARR Group I have dined. Plus, there were no household dogs, parading as guide-dogs; they take sanitation as seriously as required.

Friday dinner, early reservation. I adore the decor of PdV, but the—no joke—nearly acid rock playing when we arrived really destroyed the atmosphere. I had on a skirt, and when I sat down, I immediately felt a raft of breadcrumbs under my legs. The cleaning crew swept the crumbs from the table onto the seat. That said, I thought the food was pretty well prepared—my braised cod was probably a tad undercooked and my husband’s salmon a tad over cooked, but both dishes were well-conceived and tasty. Cocktail very nice. Wine at $20 a glass at 5:30 seemed extreme. Will return.

This was our first time at the restaurant. We were very surprised when our waiter announced that they were out of vodka. I don't think that has ever happened to me at a restaurant. Of course, that is exactly what my friend and I wanted to order. It seems like an odd thing to be out of when you can easily go to an ABC store and purchase bottles of vodka. Our waiter also said they were out of BOEUF BOURGUIGNON which again was something I wanted to order. We adjusted. The food was good, but we were not wowed by anything.

After repeated visits, I can say with confidence that it might be impossible to have a bad meal here. The food is wonderful and the menu is pleasingly varied. The staff is well-trained, knowledgeable about ingredients and preparations and friendly. The star attraction is the food. The restaurant makes me homesick for Paris.

I celebrated my engagement here with some girlfriends and asked them to be my bridesmaids!!
