“We grew up in a home where sesame butter (tahini) was consumed regularly alongside flavourful Mediterranean cuisine. Parallel was born from our history and love for sesame butter. It’s part of our culture and upbringing, and we want to share that with you.
There are few ingredients that are as versatile, nutritious, and just as damn tasty as sesame butter. That’s why we decided to make it in all its forms: try it in our dressings, salads, dips, bowls, and our famous homemade halva, and seed what is possible.
The three of us share a passion for simple meals with fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and innovative techniques. That, along with our love for good coffee, art, music, and community, is what shapes the Parallel experience.”
Wait staff very attentive. Seated promptly. Food terrific.
Delicious Mediterranean fare ... falafel and tabluleh salad are a must!
I book my reso incorrectly on open table, booked the wrong day by accident. The hostess was very nice and was able to get ya us a spot at the bar. The place was busy! The Bar was perfect the bartender was very cool and the help is with menus sections! All the selections were amazing, incredible food! Thanks Parallel for an awesome experience. I’ll be back very soon!
Amazing middle eastern food that was not typical cookie cutter menu.
We enjoyed it a lot. Food was delicious overall! service excellent.
This restaurant was a little out of the way for us, but well worth the trip. The food was excellent---the best Israeli food we've had outside of Israel. Good range of vegan options for me and some nicely seasoned meat options for my wife. With a nice bottle of wine, a few different dishes and coffee the total bill was less than many meals out we've had in recent years.
Service was horrible. Very slow. We had to ask the server every time we wanted something. It was not even busy. We would have spent far more money if he was around. The times he came by he would just eye the table and not ask anyone if they wanted anything. Very lazy and relying on the fact that it’s a well known restaurant.
I love this restaurant but our experience this time wasn't as fabulous as in the past.
Three of our lattes came out cold.
And the food wasn't as good as I remember it being.
I wonder if there's been a change in management.
It's still good just not as great as I remember.
Our server though was awesome.
LOVE the food! Our dishes came out extremely quickly - however at the end of the meal, we had to wait an extremely long time before servers checked in/noticed we were done eating, and then even longer to get our bill. Really incredible food, and we'll be back.
Food was excellent, especially the mushroom dish. Too noisy for my liking but did appreciate that they turned down the music. Still, nothing to baffle the sound. Only real complaint is that they need to be better identifying dishes that contain cilantro. Had asked the server before ordering and he identified a couple dishes but did not mention the falaffel. Bit into it and knew right away it was there. He offered to take it off the bill, but that wasn't the point. I ate something that could have easily ruined my whole meal because it is hard to get the soap taste out of my mouth.
This food is not to be missed. Delicious fresh and interesting Lebanese with a modern vibe. A bit loud and could use some sound absorbing art on the walls but the food far surpasses any noise/decor issue. Sunday brunch is phenomenal!
Fantastic food. Best middle eastern in the city!!!
My husband and i have been to this spot a couple of times and we love it. Amazing food & great service every time.
Very nice experience. Tasty Israeli food, fantastic service, and a unique setting. I will visit it again.
I took out a friend for lunch and we both enjoyed the experience: the service was extremely nice and the food excellent ! I will come back again !
The service was amazing! Food was delicious and very cool vibe.
Excellent food, a lot GF and VG, highly recommendable
While still eating our main dishes Our party was told to hurry up and order dessert since they needed our table in less than half an hour. Basically we were being kicked out.
Reservations were for 7:00 PM. We did get our table early but 2 of 4 arrived a few minutes late. AT 8:20 we were told that they needed our table at 8:45 so we’d better order dessert then if we were interested. I’m sure this was no fault of the waiter just the manager, who although I’m sure she knew we were less than impressed didn’t bother to come over to apologize!! (Even though we suggested to the waiter that we’d be happy to discuss it with the manager). About 15 minutes later he mentioned to us that they found another solution. It was interesting to note that at no time were there people waiting for a table.
Jeremy was a great waiter and we loved our meal and celebrating my daughter’s birthday.
Food is good but SUPER expensive for the portion size. I’m sorry but $16 for a small “shared plate” is pushing it. Over $100 for three people with no booze.
If you haven't been, go check it out! The food is so fresh tasting! Delicious! The sesame butter is the best I have ever tasted, I brought home a jar of the beet one. Portions are perfect for sharing so you can taste more items but would also likely be good size for one. The big open warehouse is cool, and unique to see the giant vat where the house made sesame butter is made! A great place for brunch and lunch (I have never been for dinner).
Too much garlic
Amazing food in a trendy industrial facade. Great value too!
Food is average, and starts to all taste the same. Staff push the tapas sharing plate mentality, but in the end it is overpriced for what you get. Shrimp dish is $24 for 8 shrimp. Value isn’t there. Nothing special.
Great food! Half price bottles of wine on Sunday make it just the best
It was a delicious meal. Each dish had a unique Mediterranean touch, which was outstanding experience. The falafels were so rich in herbs flavors -we even ordered double order. The parallel salad was also a delicious one.
We celebrated our son birthday and the service was out of this world. (Very friendly staff)
Must try place!!!♥️😋♥️
It was great!
Most authentic hummus I had in Canada !
Met our kids for a splendid meal. The homemade halvah was awesome! The felafel was exquisite and the schug was very good. Yummy eats. We were well looked after.
The place is organized in a very poor way, it is extremely noisy, food is not tasty at all, and the price... it is unbelievable, just unbelievable.... Hummus and falafel are not real, hummus is diluted too much and not clear with what, labaneh was good, but provided in a miserable amount (such a tiny plate, max. 50gr for 10CAD). Pitas are good and warm... A small cup of hot water with one leave of mint is 2.25CAD- unbelievable... So, for 2 plates of cold diluted hummus, 1 little plate of labaneh, and 2 small cups of water with meant we paid 70CAD!!!
Music - just to die!!!
Staff is nice and friendly.
Was offered 2 seats at the bar, which would have been completely fine any other day, but it was right by the main door and it was rainy and windy today, so every time the door opened, I'd feel a gust of cold wind. The hostess was kind enough to move us to a table shortly after we ordered as we had a reservation. We ordered the Green Shashuka, Black Sabbath, and 3 Falafels. The shashuka was a bit disappointing; I much preferred the original one. The black tahini in the Sabbath was super delicious with the poached eggs and avocado toast, but the eggs were just a touch too under, and so was the roasted tomato. All dishes were slightly under-salted, which is usually fine for me, so I asked for hot sauce, but that was extra! (I declined...) The falafels were vibrant green and great with the tahini as I remembered. We finished off our brunch with a warm chocolate chip cookie in a cast iron pan with vanilla ice cream and tahini drizzled on top, and for someone who is not a dessert person, that was actually my favourite dish of the day! Can't wait to come back for dinner!
Yum-o food and make sure you try the tahini smoothie! And if you like garlic you are in the right place. Fun place to for brunch.
Good food, fun vibe, and outstanding service - my girlfriends and I had a terrific evening. Highly recommend it
Been here many times, for lunch and for dinner. Love the food, especially the parallel salad and the herb salad, but everything else is delicious too.
Make sure to book ahead, as it's very busy.
Ever since my 3 week visit to Israel I have craved a Tel Aviv experience: creative menu and ambience and delicious food. Parallel is this and more! So thrilled to have celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday here and have the best service ever! Jeremy is a real treat and added that extra oomph to our dinner. The salad, falafel, hummus, kofta, halva and lemonade were fabulous! That tahini omg!!! Yes!!! Thank you to the 3 brothers who opened up this little gem in Toronto! See you again soon!!
Cannot get enough! Amazing food and service!
Very interesting menu which puts its own stamp on middle eastern cuisine. Food is well presented. Good service.
If the noise weren't so overwhelming that it makes conversation impossible, a meal at Parallel would be delightful. The food is interesting and excellent. The service is just fine. But, the conversational and ambient noise are exacerbated by the music which wants to drown out everything including hearing what your mealtime companions are trying to say.
Amazing food, and extremely friendly and generous staff! Will be back many times.
Thank you ! Glad you enjoyed it.
I love it there!
Nice staff, Nice menu, Nice venue.
