Paradigm Scratch Kitchen & Cocktails
We look forward to taking care of you very soon!!!!
Our first time since the changes. Best dining experience around and rivals anything in Baltimore or Annapolis.
Very happy with this new place.
Finally, a restaurant fit for the area. Good wine list. Great take on an Old Fashion. Scallops were phenomenal and perfectly cooked. Our teenagers enjoyed the "Bites" they loved the chicken wings and lamb as did we!
So good. I could hold eat there every night.
This place never fails to please! The food is imaginative and delicious, service is great, and I always feel pampered.
I had the steak with truffle fries. The fries were excellent, but my steak was served cold. My husband had the duck and enjoyed it. But the apple fritters were DELICIOUS!
Valentine's Day was our 1st time there. I was impressed because the chef called to confirm our reservation and ask if we had any food restrictions. They offered a pre fixe menu/no regular menu to make it easier for the kitchen on the big night. We reserved a table inside the restaurant, but got put out on the overheated patio at a table where the door opened from the main building to the patio, so we had the door swinging open and waiters rushing past us (and knocking my coat off my chair) constantly - very uncomfortable.
(They shouldn't have place a table there.) The waitress couldn't open the wine bottle and had to get the bartender to do it after she broke the cork. Our salad was good, but nothing special. After we had been there for more than an hour and hadn't received our 2nd course (a single scallop with tiny tomatoes and a delicious sauce), I complained to the manager. He got our next courses to us promptly and said he would comp our meal. We appreciated that, but paid for it anyway. The wait staff was hustling. It appeared to be the kitchen that couldn't keep up. The food was very fresh and well prepared, but it was difficult to appreciate it properly when the ambiance and service were so poor.
Outstanding overall. Pete was great. Food was awesome. Great pace, super awesome server, something on the menu for everyone. Will definitely be back.
Great meal. Sat a long time enjoyed many menu items with good food and good drinks.
This was the best gastronomic experience I've had in a very long time! Chef Malcolm's creations are both comfort and opulence. The cocktails were wonderfully complex but simple. Sounds impossible, but you have to experience it for yourself. I felt like I was in some grand place in downtown DC or NYC not Severna Park, MD. I hope his inevitable success does not take him away to some far flung place I can't pop into on a Monday night just because I want some deliciousness without a crazy commute to the city.
We had a delicious meal at Paradigm! The service was excellent and attentive. I ordered the grilled prawns, the sauce was so delicious, I asked for a spoon and some bread so I could finish every drop. The barley risotto was also excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious.
The staff and kitchen were overwhelmed by a full house on Friday night. Took 3 hrs and 15 minutes to have dinner. Manager and wait staff avoided contact with guests and didn’t deal well with complaints. Wings and drinks were great. Rest of meal was average-had steak and salmon. They kept the weird layout from old restaurant...was hoping they’d fix that. I’d come back for the wings and maybe eat at the bar.
Tried happy hour. Super high quality food and drink. Apparently the chef makes everything from scratch.
We enjoyed very much.
Outstanding. Sat at the bar and sampled a bunch of appetizers. Pork belly special was amazing. Really good wines by the glass. Will return often!
Insanely good. Hard to believe this restaurant is in the location that it's in. Pinch me. So grateful it's here!!!
Best meal in a long time. We've been twice since the change. Very impressed. DC is the closest place you will find this food quality.
This was our second visit....and WOW!!!!
Last time, we sat at the bar and had some light fare and really fun craft cocktails. This time we decided to sit at a table. Our server Pete went above and beyond. He was knowledgeable and his suggestions were spot on.
We had the Chips and Dip to start. For something so simple to so good! Then we split the prawn. Which was a meal into itself. It was more like a lobster tail! It was huge. And that broth was so good.
We took Pete's recommendations had the Chicken and the Salmon. The chicken was so moist. And the braised kale was one of the best things I've had in awhile. The salmon was perfectly cooked to medium, a lovely sauce, and even came with a fried lobster tail.
The manager Richard stopped by and helped us with a wine selection. The Juggernaut Cabernet is a must have!
All in all...I think we've found our new home!
Went with another couple last night for our first time. Service was very good and manager Richard was attentive and helped with our wine selection. I had the salmon and two people had filets which they loved and my husband had the duck which he said was amazing. We will be back!
Wonderful in every facet. Healthy options, ample portions, and perfectly prepared. Less expensive than a private chef. We will eat here often.
The specials are poorly put together, music annoying, and tables close together. When they caught me complaining about my food to my date, they offered me another entree but then billed me for it at the end.
Pleasantly surprised with the high level of service for a new place. Food was absolutely incredible.
Not usually a cocktail fan but the server sold us on a few.
Five stars! Really...really good.
The restaurant is apparently a change of chef and management of a former restaurant. The waiter was very attentive, and he introduced the new concept; however, he couldn't introduce the name of the new chef. He just said he's been on food network. (We knew that from the website - which is also under construction).
Everything looked very good. The special of the day appetizer was a coconut shrimp and was excellent - only six shrimp to share but great flavor. The bread appetizer (you have to pay for it) came without the maple butter and we had to ask for it. Our entrees were good. The ribeye and additional side of brussel sprouts were flavorable - especially the roasted bacon sprouts. Meat portion (14 oz) was large and the fat not well marbled (most fat was on the edges); we had to pack leftovers for both items. The Salmon was good, but unusual plating on top of the cannellini ragout. The hamburger tasty. We had one dessert to go and I didn't get to taste any of it.
Former Pascal's Chop House. Paradigm has changed up some of the former establishment seating/tables to be less on top of each other. West informed us that the menu will completely change every 6 weeks or so. Menu is limited but has nice variety. Giant Prawn app was awesome! My wife tried her first Flatiron steak ever. Dang it was awesome. Perfect size for her. It came with side of Parm Fries in a small fryer like basket is a nice touch. My farm raised Salmon with a flash fried mini lobster tail was great. The warm chocolate cake with toasted marsh-mellows (& more) was quite unique and tasty. Pete was our server and his timing was on the spot. Heard lady say the number of good looking tall male waiters was like seeing Magic Mike. I defer that view to the ladies. On tad expensive side (w cocktails) but it is a unique and tasty experience
Really loved the old Chophouse but this new concept is a pleasant surprise. Grilled prawns and duck were wonderful. My husband loved the scallops too. We’ll be back.
We loved the Chophouse. Didn't mind waiting longer for good food. This new menu seems to make for better service. Service was great food was outstanding. Nothing like this exists close by.
Food and service were both nearly flawless. Would definitely return to try other items on the menu.
Creative menu, eye pleasing presentation, good quality food, attentive service.
It was expensive and small portions. Took long time to receive meal.
Excellent food. Especially enjoyed the beet salad and salmon. Charcuterie was on point as well.
Not happy with the changes. The past chef was willing to make substitutions and worked with dietary restrictions. The new chef will make no substitutions and there is no deviation from the SET menu. Two of the dishes at our table were heavily seasoned with pepper, so much so it was not enjoyable. All of the desserts had gluten. No other options....I asked for a small bowl of berries and was told the only berries they had we're for the dishes on the menu. There were no other gluten free options available for a nice little treat to finish off dinner. I found the inflexibility very off putting. We had Pascal's Chophouse on our regular rotation of restaurants we frequented....probably a couple times a month, sometimes more. We won't be returning...Not what we're looking for anymore. Good Luck to the new executive chef. I hope he finds the clientele he's cooking for.
Good but Not great. Very limited menu, super empty the night we went and the bartender was our waiter too.
The staff was pleasant and very helpful. The food was delicious but the menu was a little lacking. I believe it was 6 items overall. I overheard they just changed chiefs and he prepares everything. We went on a Saturday night and it didn’t seem very busy. I hope this place sticks around, because we will definitely be back.
