For the past 17 years, Alicia has been cooking from the heart at her restaurant on Third Avenue in San Mateo. Originally Astaria and later re-branded into THREE Craft Kitchen and Bar. With more than 30 years of experience in the culinary world, Alicia continues her marriage of seasonal ingredients, timeless traditions, and soulful approach to cooking at Par 3 at Poplar Creek. She is thrilled to bring new energy to this Peninsula treasure and takes Par 3 at Poplar Creek to the next level.
Alicia's passion for creating delicious food is matched by the welcoming staff that has been serving guests for years. A view of the 120 acre golf course is visible form every seat in the house. A full bar and curated 12 tap craft draft beer selection compliments the eclectic comfort menu. Guests are welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. Par 3 also includes a 200 seat banquet room for large events.

    Staff added a high additional tip to my credit card that was not approved. I would not go back unless this is fixed.

    There was a lot of choices for the Father’s Day buffet, however the taste was not good for most of the items. It doesn’t matter if you have a lot of choices if you don’t like how they taste so you don’t want to eat any if it. Food was very sub par.

    Our first experience celebrating Father’s Day. The receptionist was friendly. We arrived early and they were able to seat us. We were seated by the window so we had a nice view of the golf course. The Special Father’s Day Bruch buffet menu offered a variety of items. The value seemed reasonable. The ribeye steak was good. It had just come out and was hot. Unfortunately, the other items that should be served warm to hot were not. Most was cooled down. Due to improper temperature control, food that should be hot min 140 degrees internal Temperature were not. Items that should be chilled at least 40 degrees like the ceviche bar was not. It was warm since not on ice. When I selected the hot items, I looked to see where fuel burners were located. Hoping it was at least warm. If the food temperature was appropriate, the food would have been good because the taste and flavor was good. The bar menu had a variety of options. The seasonal drinks the strawberry field 13 was good. Service was minimal. They had servers available talking to each other. We had to call them for ordering drinks and to get our bill. The final bill arrived and a 22% gratuity was automatically added for a party of 3, which did not seem appropriate based on overall experience.

    Father's Day brunch was delicious! We appreciated a different pricing tier for children. It would be ideal to break out veg/non veg pricing or have a different tier for those not participating in steak or surf n turf. Additionally, pricing could have been a bit more transparent in terms of gratuity being included. Food was delicious, had a nice spread & variety, and replenished often.

    Greeted by the hostess and she said I could look around and decide if I wanted to eat inside or out on the patio. we chose to sit outside on the patio, and it was very pleasant. Our waiter promptly introduced himself and brought the menus. I had a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and my friend had the tuna melt. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! Another great feature of this restaurant is that it has ample free parking right outside! There are many options to choose from on the menu – fish tacos, burgers, a wide range of salads and sandwiches. Thanks for a great afternoon!

    Service was excellent. Fish and chips were very hot, crispy, and well seasoned. The accompanying aioli was delicious! Everyone in the party felt the food was tasty.

    This still is (Astaria and Three) my ne if the best home town places in San Mateo. Now they have the most gorgeous views but have not sacrificed the warmth and just damn good food! Highly recommend!

    Lovely setting, we lunched on the outdoor patio on a sunny Saturday. My companions really enjoyed the eggs Benedict and Thai chicken salad. I didn’t love the corned beef hash (just diced corned beef scattered over hash browns). Our server was great, very friendly and responsive despite being quite obviously very new. I would definitely go back but would order something different.
