Food was delicious. Had the pasta Bolognese. Bread came in foil, but wasn’t hot. They could have served some nice crusty Italian bread. The music was unbearably loud. Went outside for some quiet, and they blasted the music out there.
Great place for an adult night out. Live music, bar and on a golf course. What else can you ask for.
Would not recommend this place. The inside restaurant was used for a special group which meant we had to eat outside. No waiters for more than 5 minutes and the added factor that the table next to us was smoking cigars made us d crude to quickly leave. Will not make the mistake of going back there
To start at Par 440 they offer IPads rather than traditional menus. Very Millennial!!!! That said I get it my 97 year old Dad has an IPad and is quite literate with it. I had no problem using it but it was so divided into categories that at no point could you compare if you wanted a pasta, meat , seafood or burger. You had to switch between categories. Next we finally decided on our meal. We both ordered an entree on the higher end of the price scale and an appetizer. When presented with our appetizer, which was fried mozzarella topped with a sausage based marinara sauce. We had to ASK for bread. It wasn’t as if we had ordered two burgers. I ordered the stuffed lobster tail and my husband ordered the prime rib. Really no bread. When the bread arrived it was wrapped in foil and resembled yesterday’s challah bread reheated luke warm. Really we are in the Italian bread capitol of the country, yet we were served a pillsbury refrigerated dough product. As for the entrees portions very generous. Quality, taste not so much. My 3 oz lobster tail(I am being optimistic it was 3 oz) was covered in a fishy tasting breading, no crabmeat to be seen. My husband had the prime rib and although a generous portion lacked any flavor whatsoever. The mashed potatoes on the other hand were so loaded with garlic they were unpalatable. We waited an interminable amount of time to receive our check. I want to like this place the ambiance is really nice. They might make the menu smaller and concentrate on good food and not try to have a menu similar to a Jersey diner/ sushi restaurant.
I went with a party of 5 all first timers & they enjoyed themselves ! I thought the drinks were a little pricey , but the bartender made the best chocolate martini I ever had ! The DJ & Eric was great !
It never disappoints. Love the new tech menu. Fun.
Gerard Espo was OUTSTANDING.
SERVICE IS AWESOME. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS.
Beautiful in every way
The music was deafening and way TOO loud. Sat at table without menus or water for over 20 minutes. We got up and were leaving, when a waitress approached us and said there was a miscommunication and wanted to serve us.
After we were served, we are very quickly so eat during the band's break.
This was my 2nd visit. So impressed w this establishment. Have been telling others about it. Very nice atmosphere and great crowd!! Will definitely be returning.
I made a reservation specifically to sit outside. It was written in my reservation made in Open Table. The first thing the receptionist said was there are NO tables outside. Had I known this I would not have gone
The service was awful. I had to ask for water repeatedly. I’ve been here many times and they never have ice cubes and in hot weather this is a bit of an inconvenience
If you have outside dining you should be prepared for bugs. We all were eaten alive by bugs and ended up with numerous bites. The server disappeared and when our friend went inside to see about having the dirty plates removed they were standing inside with their arms crossed.
They offered free dessert to counter balance the lack of service. We’ve been here repeatedly and each time it gets worse. This was our last visit for mediocre food and awful service and priced high for what it is
It’s a shame because in the summer we look for places with outside dining.
You noted in your reservation "a request". This does not "guarantee" you outside seating. We cannot bump out guests that were already seated outside. We always supply ice for our beverages. This complaint is a lie. From "no table outside", to "sitting outside". Faulting us for mosquito bites is childish. We do not control weather or wildlife. Your waitress that evening has an excellent track record with us and her former employer. Feel free not to return. We will not accept your business.
Fish was good (Clams & Mussels) but the stuffed meatballs were dry and salty. It was definitely not a meat combination of Beef & Veal which you expect to find in this type restaurant.
Also, had to move inside for dinner the porch had no shade and the heat was brutal. They should definately consider sun shades.
We appreciate the praise on our fresh fish dishes. This is first we've had a complaint about our stuffed meatball being dry or salty. We can assure you that it is Beef, Pork & Veal combination. Our outside porch is a covered porch, so all day and during your reservation at 5:30. There was coverage, complete with ceiling fans. We will however bring up the sun-setter awning suggestion to cover the lower patio with the building's ownership
Food was excellent, drinks were great and we love sitting outside on a beautiful summer night! Service was great too!
The food was good with a lot of variety on the menu. The service was frustrating. We had to ask for silverware and napkins after our appetizers arrived. The waitress had little knowledge of bar choices not on the drink menu. Beer choices are very limited.
First time we went food was good, service was excellent and the environment was lovely and relaxing
Second time service was lagging and slow. There was a private party outside so the noise level kept escalating and the service took a long time. Pricey but if all else was good I wouldn’t have minded Not sure we will return anytime soon We chose Par 440 because we enjoy sitting outside in the summer and they have a lovely deck
Too loud for me. We went on a Saturday night to try out the entertainment after eating there a few times. The food is very good with a tuna that's about as good as legal seafood and better sides. The music before the entertainer was already so loud that I had to yell to be heard. Once the singer started he kept increasing the volume so that I couldn't hear anything else and the feedback was truly painful. I could take no more and had to leave. My ears were ringing for a whiIe afterwards and I may refer this to the Department of Health for unsafe sound levels.
It’s a decent place for an informal meal, but has some inflated prices for very basic dishes. The food is fine, even tasty. Our server would disappear for long periods of time, so we had to ask random employees if they could find our server for us. There are better alternatives locally.
We've been to Par 440 many times but never for brunch. Not sure if they had new staff but the waiter didn't know whether omelets came with toast or potatoes, or other very basic things - clearly no knowledge of the menu. At halfway through our meal a number of service people kept asking if we were finished - we clearly were not - they just kept coming and coming hoping to clear the table. Two of us ordered omelets and they were awful. And those potatoes were side dishes. Overall we would have been better off having breakfast at a good diner.
My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves and this was our first time. We will be back.
We made a reservation and when we got to the restaurant the host said that certain tables were already earmarked by other people having made reservations. The restaurant was empty. The host was not nice at all. When we asked for a table he grudgingly gave us one in the front. Not a good experience.
Fridays and Saturdays are busy nights. Regardless of weather or not the restaurant is "empty" upon arrival, tables are assigned, based on time of expected arrival and head count. As this is the only table we had issue with on 3/29/19, this is the Carole Barabander, reviewing us as "anonymous" was pointless. For readers, this was a party of 2 that requested a table that was reserved for 4. We accommodated them with said table at the inconvenience of the guests that were meant for that seating.
Your DJ was playing WAY TOO LOUD. We are eating not dancing at a Disco. I needed ear plugs.
Not a good ambiance at all. Food was not of good quality. Sent back your steaks and only good thing was a burger. I can get that any where and have to listen to that DJ that was so loud and annoying.
Meals were a good size & expertly presently. Great service. Especially Julie. Julian & Dominique we’re fabulous, which is what kept us there for hours!
Thank you, Mario & Staff, for a fine Saturday night out! We will definitely be back soon.
Excellent value for a great dinner with live entertainment!
The veal special was totally dried out!
Nice place for lunch; extensive menu. I would visit again in the Spring or Summer when you can sit out on the porch and view the golf course and golfers.
Our ears were ringing when we left at 10:00. My throat was killing me trying to talk to my husband and my friends. The music that went on when the band took a break was excessively loud. We had to ask the waiter for our french fries with our hamburger I had to ask for bread and butter with my meal we had to ask for salt and pepper ketchup also in the linguini and clam sauce in the clams thete was a lot of sand didn’t enjoy that at all. The waiter never asked how we wanted the burger cooked. It was too well done. If he did ask we probably couldn’t hear him. The hostess asked us if we were friends of the band and we were wondering if that determined where we sat. We had reservations I don’t see why she would tell us to wait so she could set my table. The band was good I liked him but you’re right on top of them and I was a little loud but I did enjoy them
We really enjoyed this restaurant. The layout and ambiance are classy and the service was impeccable. After eating, we moved to the bar where it was easier to talk since there was a band playing. Really great experience!
We arrived several minutes early for our reservation and were escorted to possibly the worst table for 2 in the house…..a table in the furthest reaches of the dining room, sandwiched in between two other tables with perhaps six inches to spare on either side…when any guest on either side or my dinner partner would get up to dance or visit the rest room and have to squeeze through, it was hold onto your wine/cocktail glasses….doubtful they would survive the trip. We asked for a different table,,,,ie the high-top twenty feet away and were told it was reserved. Well, I have a reservation, why can’t I have it? The Owner/Manager was quite curt in his response to our inquiry…..and made no attempt at apologizing for the table we were seated at, regardless of the fact I made these reservations over 3 weeks ago. We tried to make the best of it, but it was not a pleasant dining experience.
The food (pasta special and NY strip streak) were mediocre at best, my Vodka gimlet was barely stirred, forget shaken. All the while the high-top table we asked to move to remained vacant for the next 1 ½ hours. When it was finally occupied, the guests ordered drinks only.
Upon leaving, I asked to speak to the Manager again and inquired as to why the high-top table was left unoccupied, only to be taken later on by guests who did not have dinner. In my thinking, if they were there for drinks, the bar area is quite large and they should have been seated there. I was told that they were regulars and that is why they got that table. I have never seen a table set aside for non-diners at the expense of diners in the dining room area of any restaurant. Once again, curt responses, with the Manager wanting no part of the conversation.
Parties of 4 and up will score the better tables, party of 2 forget it….and you’ll still have to deal with the overpriced, mediocre food. If you go for drinks only, stick to wine and beer and hope you have no issues that require Management involvement
I love this restaurant. My only complaint in the past, I ordered vodka club and was given grey goose vodka and charged for it. Just padding the check.
This time I went, the waitress was wonderful and specifically asked what vodka I wanted when we ordered.
Otherwise entertainment was great, they didn't rush us out and food was excellent.
I always pass this place and one day o decided to take my wife and 2 children there. I have to say this place is great. Good ambiance, good drinks and good service. The food was also great. My wife had salmon well done but I would prefer it medium. I had the stuffed lobster tails with crabmeat. They should have just called it lobster tail with a lump crake cake on top... delicious. The dessert was awesome. I had a chocolate lava cake!! Thumbs up on that one. I was drinking Manhattans (a little lighter then I am use to but delicious). Service was very good and attentive.
We went to celebrate a dear friends law school graduation and had an amazing time. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food and ambience were excellent and the live entertainment was a blast. Would definitely return.
waiter was on his phone all night never came to table to see if we needed more drinks after he took our order i had to leave my table to look for him !!!! will not be back for new year again I spilled a drink on the table the bus boy came out cleaned everything up was very polite so i Tipped him he deserves a 10
fabulous bar and great bar tenders and makes fabulous drinks. The menu choice was fabulous as so many choices depending upon your mood.
Before you read our review, know that on this Saturday night the place was packed. Some people like it! We were early diners. Bar was jammed! 3 - deep. Dining room almost empty, but filled up as time went on. Full by the time we left. Service was good when we sat down and got less attentive to bad by the time we were able to get our check. Nice singer at the electric piano though hard to hear over the din! Food was pretty good (not great - Chicken Murphy, dry and overdone med. rare prime rib. Drink prices fair. Very weird venue. Enough TV's to be a sports bar but decorated like a 60's disco palace. No separation betwn bar and dining so nice room and music ruined by the bar scene. Probably good for watching games, but seems to be trying to be everything to everybody and is nothing for anybody. Still - packed when we left. I don't get it.
Arrived into a private party. Offered a table in a back corner. Noise level was at nose bleed levels. Left to both their and our relief. Holding a 100000 point card for the dinner. Living 150 miles w, not likely to use. Less than happy with the loss of the points! Rated food service and value, as I had to if submitting this survey. Really have no idea on these, since, with their approval, we left.
Not a favorite of music. Hard to have a conversation...
We dined here before several times, and decided to bring 4 of our friends to dine with us. On Friday night they have a singer, who is extremely loud, to a point where we could not order food as the waiter could not hear us and we had to point to items on the menu. When we, politely and discreetly, asked our waiter to ask the singer to lower the volume just a bit so that we could at least hear each other, the singer stopped the music, while people were dancing and having a good time, and announced to the entire restaurant that he has to stop the party as "people are complaining that I am too loud. If you have a problem, it's that table over there" as he pointed at us. We were mortified! We live in town and know a lot of people who were there that night and it was BEYOND embarrassing!
In addition, the buss boy, while cleaning up, spilled the whole glass of water all over the table and us. Not only did he not apologize, he did not even come back to clean up! We had to start cleaning up ourselves, until the waiter came and cleaned the mess up.
Overall, I would NOT come back here, nor would I recommend this place to anyone, unless you like to be embarrassed and get stuff, unapologetically, spilled over you.
Food was disappointing the steak was poor. Burger good
Food was mediocre and tasteless but the entertainment was great! Fun place
A mixed bag. Great live music venue, great bar. Service is inconsistent. Food is only fair; I would expect better at these prices. If you are coming for the live music at 7PM and are going to eat, pasta is your safest bet. If the quality of the food were better, overall rating would be 4 stars or better.
Food is pretty solid but they have too many different menus. The selection is overwhelming. Service is sketchy. We often couldn’t locate our waitress and it wasn’t that busy. They need people to remove dirty dishes, and refill water glasses. At 10 pm the DJ was blasting music, so we had a hard time hearing each other. We enjoyed our food.
