Good food. Good service. Decent prices. Nice atmosphere with appropriate background music. Family and friends kind of place. Will return. Will recomend to others.
First time here. Ambiance nicer than we anticipated. We had vegetarian options. All were fresh and tasty. Turkish pizza interesting. Thumbs up for the eggplant, bread, falafels and the kale salad. Will be back with some friends to try more of the menu. Staff and owners were eager to please. A little off the beaten path but worth the effort. BYOB always a plus.
We always enjoy Paprica!
Great lunch spot!
Fantastic turkish food served in a contemporary space. It's BYOB, so don't forget to bring a robust wine or beer, or Arrak/Rakki if you're really into Turkish comestibles (unless you keep halal, and their food is, in which case they have great Turkish tea) .
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Turkish food is a bit like Greek food, with a greater emphasis on meat, a bit spicier, and using less dairy. Halal is the word for meats that satisfy Islamic dietary standards, which are generally similar to those for Kosher. The practical effect is that halal ingredients are usually from smaller, less industrial, family-run farms and butcher shops and considered to thus be of higher quality. Arrak or Rakki is a Turkish/Middle eastern liquor, flavored with anisette. It's similar to, but not as sweek as, Sambuca or Ouzo.
Love the lamb chops on the new expanded menu. Need more dessert options and real iced tea please!
Loved this place!
Great Turkish cuisine. Felt like we were in Istanbul! Next time we’ll bring the Raki 🎶
Following read several good reviews, we tried this restaurant Tucktaway near jeweler‘s Row. Once inside, the ambience was bright and attractive. The servers were all friendly and particularly helpful since we were new to Turkish food. The review were‘s were right, the food was excellent and novel. The assorted appetizers were similar to Greek but a little different and very good. While we don’t have the term for the dish right, what was similar to sausage pizza on Pita was really good. A sliced lamb and beef with a yogurt topping was also unique and exceptional. Turkish coffee was just right, and what better way to end a first rate meal than pistachio Baklava with ice cream in the middle? We will return, and soon.
Lovely, courteous waitress. Food was hot and delicious. We went before a Walnut St theater performance. So close by! Unique offerings. So much food we packed up the leftovers, and the restaurant stored them for us until the show was over. We will return.
We loved our dinners at Paprica. WE had 4 different lamb entrees and they were all delicious. We had cheese borek, and turkish pizza and they were also delicious. Food is always wonderful and service is great. Will definitely go back. Of course baklaba and ice cream for dessert.
This new-ish restaurant is a great find! My husband and I went there for a quick dinner before a show at Walnut Street Theater (just across the parking lot!) They were very nice about serving us quickly when we said we had tickets for a play in an hour. We ordered an assortment of four appetizers, and the bronzino entree; everything was delicious! Since we brought our own wine, the total price of the meal was very reasonable (just over $50 for the two of us). I'm looking forward to returning and trying some other dishes.
There is an extensive menu, all of our choices were delicious and served in a timely manner. Service was excellent - gracious and accommodating. Ambiance not fancy, but comfortable. Good value. Will return, its a gem.
Delicious, good value, and earnest friendly service. Food is halal if that matters to you. It’s delicious, which matters to everyone! I definitely recommend this place. It’s one of my husband’s favorite restaurants, and I really like it, too
Wrong food item was brought to the table.
Some food items were very good
Food really was poor except for the Iskender it was ok, but could not make up for the other dishes. Service was fine, but nothing special.
We were really looking forward to this restaurant based on the reviews. Extremely disappointed. We will not be going back.
Fantastic food, very good price, definitely will go back! You can park at the parking lot across the street.
Nice place for a business or casual meal. The service has varied from good but a little slow to very hospitable. Presentation of food is great and all of the food was well prepared and delicious
Very authentic Turkish food. I lived in Turkey for 2 years and haven’t found a place that truly replicated traditional dishes. Absolutely phenomenal from the appetizers to the desserts. They even had excellent Turkish coffee and apple tea! Bringing wine was no problem and the staff were very attentive
Food was great! Tables were extremely close, I felt like I was eating at the same table as the 2 tables I was sandwiched in between.
The Mucver zucchini based appetizer was delicious. The Yaprak Doner was an excellent choice for our main course. It was like a gyro but very moist and better tasting. Be aware that although the Menu states that the Doner comes with grilled vegetables, these vegetables are comprised of just a single tomato wedge and a hot green pepper.
There were at least two Turkish families in the dining room, a good sign for a Turkish restaurant.
We are looking forward to our next visit to try the pizza and other menu items.
The chairs in the store are very uncomfortable, would not go there again until they change them. The food is very good.
This was our second visit and we will definitely be back. We went here to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant staff were amazing and really made our guest of honor feel honored by bringing out a small cake and playing the birthday song. Well done!
The food was delicious as always, though the side salad quantity has been greatly reduced.
Authentic Turkish restaurant! Like Istanbul’s restaurants
Great food and personable service! It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. The little beef dumplings were standout.
Outstanding meal after a matinee at the Walnut. Highly recommend Paprica!
It is nice place with good prices. One of my tab Mediterranean restaurant in Philadelphia. You will not regret, they cook very delicious and fresh foods.
My server Tuncay was very professional with his recommendations. I was greeted at the door by the owner and the food was very delicious. I even met with the chef just to thank him. I love this place.
This was our third time there. The food was amazing. The people are very friendly. It’s a great value. And you get to bring your own wine. What is better than that.
food was very good. the owners/managers were very attentive and were genuinely interested in us having a good experience.
First time we tried the restaurant under the new owners. Enjoyed the food and the setting. Prices were very reasonable. Plan to return.
Excellent Turkish cuisine with ample portions and a friendly staff.
A wonderful find in the Washington Square West area. The restaurant is unpretentious, and the Turkish food is excellent and reasonably priced. The portions are large.
We plan on becoming regulars at this BYOB.
Excellent food and very hospitable and friendly staff
