Menu and service reflect the warmth and attention of the old world, as well as the diversity and techniques of today. we feature homemade pasta, artisanal pizza & other great Italian staples, like chicken parmagian, grilled branzino & scrumptious tiramisu.
A beautiful outdoor terrace makes for great people watching in the warm months. Pappardella is conveniently located near the beacon theater, the museum of natural history & Central Park offering lunch & dinner pre fix, brunch & a busy happy hour.
Food, drinks and service always on point. Be back soon
great food as always but service was somewhat lacking...
Such a gracious welcome! My guest was late and I was seated with an understanding smile. Staff continued to be attentive when I changed my seat (the waitress recommended an even better one) and these grateful diners also accepted her menu recommendation. The pasta and pizza were both outstanding (as well as the latte). Wish we’d had time for dessert!
Always a welcome from the staff. Food consistently good.
I tried this restaurant again after a disappointing meal a few days before. I was glad I came back. Pappardelle is wonderful if you’re gluten free like me. I had salmon as a main course and it was
quite good. The other three people in my party were pleased with their meals as well.
It was a busy Friday night, however, and it was very noisy!
Both the service and food here was excellent! My wife and I went there with no knowledge of the restaurant after a day at the Natural History Museum. When we arrived we were seated quickly, the waiter introduced himself and interacted with us through out the entire evening. He recommended an excellent Italian Tuscan red and walked us through the specials. Both the appetizers and meals were delicious and we never felt rushed by any of the staff.
I highly recommend restaurant if your by the NHM!
I usually enjoy this restaurant. I felt the staff was not attentive and hard to find. We had a couple of the daily specials and they were just OK. Sorry to say..... it was a disappointing visit.
always consistent in food and drink and the service is usually a bit less than that but this time we had a fairly good waitress and support staff. love the eggplant parmigiana.
Disappointed. I’ve eaten here before and been pleased by gluten free options. This time the gluten free toast was undercooked, the gluten free pasta was hard, and there weren’t enough mushrooms or olive oil in the dish.
Will try again; perhaps you had an off night.
Fantastic food, fantastic service! We absolutely love this place!
Great hostess, wait staff and service!
rating says it all. Food, service and ambiance were all excellent, Prices are expected to be moderate to high everywhere in this area. It was enjoyable to talk with the owner for a bit.
Food is amazing and service is great!!
Will definitely come back there.
Wonderful! We have been twice this year and brought our family back for more. The value is high and everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend!
First of all, we arrived early and were seated, but the hostess did not mark us as having honored our Open Table reservation.
Secondly, our waiter was not committed to our table and our needs. The food was good enough, but not outstanding. The ambiance was also good, but would have been so much better if we had had a more attentive waiter.
Excellent w food allergies and food was delicious!!!
We loved this restaurant. They were great with the kids and had a very good selection on their menu. Excellent service as well. We are. Wet glad that we chose this restaurant on our last night in New York.
Great space for an early evening dinner meeting. Service was patient and timely as well. Great experience. My second time there and would definitely return for a third!
The food was good and the people where nice
The service was excellent and the food was delicious
We’re visiting from San Francisco and loved the authentic experience. Great service.
I had picked the restaurant due to location (convenient point for friends from UES and UWS to meet for dinner; easily accessible via mass transit); how happy we were to have chosen it! I had the fileto di salmone raspighi (with a glass of Gavi) and one friend had the branzino alla griglia (with that evening's signature cocktail containing gin, Prosecco, and I forgot what else). We both ooh'ed and ahh'ed throughout our meal and planned who we'd bring there next. What a find; so very happy we happened upon it!
The food was great and the servers were very friendly, just a little slower than what we expected. Wouldn’t stop us from coming back or recommending it to others, though.
Nice outdoor seating, but chair and table rickety. Food mediocre. Service ok
We all had a delicious meal and our family member with Celiac was very happy with the extensive gluten free menu and her final choices tasted amazing! We all tasted the Gluten free bruschetta and couldn’t tell the difference from the regular!
Dollar for dollar, one of the best Italian restaurants in New York City. Wonderfiul mastery of herbs, textures and blends of ingredients. Atmosphere throwback to an earlier New York.
Extremely large portions! Service was fantastic
Great food & customer service!
Good experience but our waiter did not give us bread nor did she give us a birthday dessert even though we told it was my 60th birthday
The menu at Pappardella is always good and seems to get better with each visit.
Nice restaurant and great service.
Food was good -waiter was a bit busy but fine. Restaurant was crowded but we could still talk...I would go back.
Very accommodating of food allergies. Gluten free menu amazing! Salmon delicious as was my kale salad. Yum!
always reliable for the food and wine and the service is usually very good as well. love the melanzane parmigiana and that you can also get it as an appetizer. fabuloso!
Outstanding in all respects. This ranks in the top 3 of my favorite Italian restaurants anywhere. The food was wonderful and the staff were a joy. The menu was incredibly varied, but focused on traditional Italian fare without too many bells or whistles. The tomato sauce was the best I’ve ever tried—hearty but not overwhelming. It is located in a quieter part of the city, so you can sit outside and comfortably watch the world go by. Plus, they accommodated my nut allergies with a smile, which made the whole experience even better.
Food was presented creatively. Service very good & responsive. We went on a Sunday night, it was very crowded, and so noisy I had trouble hearing the 3 other people at my table. We did not drink but still the bill was very high for a neighborhood place.
Had brunch at Pappardella on Saturday. I had the salsiccia omelet and my partner had the eggs Benedict. The omelet was very tasty -- sweet Italian sausage and broccoli and other veggies. The Benedict was well-prepared, with prosciutto instead of Canadian bacon. We were the first diners at the opening at 11 a.m., but the restaurant filled up quickly, including a fairly large group of theater-goers from Connecticut, so I would recommend reservations. Service was prompt and friendly. This was our first visit to Pappardella; we will definitely go again.
The restaurant has a very 90s vibe, with decor that hasn't changed in a while yet the pappardelle with peas was good and the toasted bread and marinara tasty. Wine selection by the glass could be slightly bigger but we had a good montepulciano. Didn't try too many dishes but I would give it another chance.
Old reliable!! Dined here before concert at the Beacon Theater. Food is always delish and we enjoyed it all. Quick service so we could make our show with time to spare. A great cozy restaurant you can always count on.
We used to live in the neighborhood and always LOVED this restaurant. We were excited to go back but when we got there on a very hot/humid night ...there was no a/c. It did kick in near the end of the meal though. My husband ordered the pork chop - they were out. We both ordered pasta...it took a long time to come out. Wait staff came to pour water, and she poured water right onto table, giggled and then didn’t bring a towel. These were a bunch of minor complaints though. Overall food delicious and vibe perfect for a neighborhood place. I suspect we may just have arrived on an off night.
