Menu and service reflect the warmth and attention of the old world, as well as the diversity and techniques of today. we feature homemade pasta, artisanal pizza & other great Italian staples, like chicken parmagian, grilled branzino & scrumptious tiramisu.
A beautiful outdoor terrace makes for great people watching in the warm months. Pappardella is conveniently located near the beacon theater, the museum of natural history & Central Park offering lunch & dinner pre fix, brunch & a busy happy hour.
Outstanding in all respects. This ranks in the top 3 of my favorite Italian restaurants anywhere. The food was wonderful and the staff were a joy. The menu was incredibly varied, but focused on traditional Italian fare without too many bells or whistles. The tomato sauce was the best I’ve ever tried—hearty but not overwhelming. It is located in a quieter part of the city, so you can sit outside and comfortably watch the world go by. Plus, they accommodated my nut allergies with a smile, which made the whole experience even better.
Food was presented creatively. Service very good & responsive. We went on a Sunday night, it was very crowded, and so noisy I had trouble hearing the 3 other people at my table. We did not drink but still the bill was very high for a neighborhood place.
Had brunch at Pappardella on Saturday. I had the salsiccia omelet and my partner had the eggs Benedict. The omelet was very tasty -- sweet Italian sausage and broccoli and other veggies. The Benedict was well-prepared, with prosciutto instead of Canadian bacon. We were the first diners at the opening at 11 a.m., but the restaurant filled up quickly, including a fairly large group of theater-goers from Connecticut, so I would recommend reservations. Service was prompt and friendly. This was our first visit to Pappardella; we will definitely go again.
Old reliable!! Dined here before concert at the Beacon Theater. Food is always delish and we enjoyed it all. Quick service so we could make our show with time to spare. A great cozy restaurant you can always count on.
We used to live in the neighborhood and always LOVED this restaurant. We were excited to go back but when we got there on a very hot/humid night ...there was no a/c. It did kick in near the end of the meal though. My husband ordered the pork chop - they were out. We both ordered pasta...it took a long time to come out. Wait staff came to pour water, and she poured water right onto table, giggled and then didn’t bring a towel. These were a bunch of minor complaints though. Overall food delicious and vibe perfect for a neighborhood place. I suspect we may just have arrived on an off night.
Really great gluten free pizza!
Persanal pizza for appetizer was perfect as were the entrees my friends and I had which were 2 paparadelle dinners( Buttera and Funghi )shrimp parm and chicken. Panacotta, zabaglione and ricotta cheesecake were all delicious!
Excellent beet salad, shrimp with spinach pasta, gnocchi and eggplant parm. Good caprese salad. Good service and ambiance.
Chef was very helpful and accommodating to my son’s food intolerances. Great food!
Lovely Italian neighborhood restaurant.
Lots of items to choose from!
I enjoyed the seafood dish with pasta.
Very good waiter and dining experience!
Our server was wonderful, the food flavorful &plentiful & the Bellinis divine. The server was quite accommodating. I would return.
wonderful service. Never felt rushed. The branzino is great!
I was very pleased with everything. The food was delicious, the service was efficient and professional. The waitress gave us some tips on what to order. The manager came by to ask how we were doing. The price was not overwhelming. I will go there again when I am in the neighborhood.
Consistently very good!
Seated promptly. Great food, with an extensive gluten free menu. Highly recommend.
Not a place to consider in the summer. No air conditioning or ventilation. Service is very inattentive. After being served, no one came back till they brought the check.
We had plenty of time for our meal before going to a show at the Beacon. We each had wine, a small appetizer and entree salads. The food was amazing. Service was spotty at times as our server was covering many tables on the floor. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.
Our server was nice but she brought the wrong dishes to two of our party and I had to track her down more than once: to order dessert and to get the check. I suspect there is not enough staff. My dish, orecchiette pasta, was only passable. The sausage was overcooked, the pasta a bit undercooked. The location is terrific and I would go back but wish for better conditions. Thanks.
Our experience on July 19th was terrible. Our waiter was very slow taking our drink order.when we asked for another it took too long. We asked for bread and butter. The butter cane and we had to ask again. The food was good . We asked for another beer and it never came.
This was a party of 4.
The manager never came to our table to apologize or offer a drink or desert.
I may never come back along with many friends.
Excellent food, quick service.
Nice place, very friendly, attentive service. Tasty pastas and salads. Excellent desserts. Nice ambiance.
It was my first time at Pappardella. The ambiance was charming, the food was amazing and our server was fabulous! I will return to Pappardella often!
Thank you for the wonderful experience!
My means, pappardelle funghi, was absolutely delicious. Silken pasta, cream sauce not too heavy, delicately flavored mushrooms, not too big a portion. wonderful. My companions has eggplant Parmigiana, which they said was very good. Noise level (I think I would always like it a bit less) was tolerable and we could talk. Servers very nice and not intrusive. A lovely evening.
Wine was good as well as the service. The salads were large, easily could have split between 2 people. The lobster ravioli was cheese ravioli with chuncks of lobster on top which is not typical, we expected lobster in the filling. The house made papardelle was flavorful and fresh , however the sauce was extremely heavy and could have been looser for our taste. The plates we saw being served to other tables look good. Ours was just heavy.
One of our few neighborhood favorites.
We loved the food, Cacio e Pepe in particular. The Veal Marsala was also delicious. The ambiance is lovely and I look forward to returning soon.
We were 6 people celebrating my birthday and we had a very congenia table at the back by the bar. We had a wonderful time and love the style of the space , high tin ceilings, natural light, flower arrangements
On a lovely evening we sat outside with friends and enjoyed delicious Italian food. Eac of the four of us really liked our shared starters and entrees, with the special soup (beet puree) deserving special mention as it was unique and very, very good.
The service on a busy night was friendly, attentive and efficient
We go to Pappardellas whenever we’re in NY. This time though our Open Table reservation was cancelled by the restaurant , ten minutes before we arrived. Not too big a deal but we had to wait a bit for our table.
Food was outstanding and service good! Lively atmosphere but a bit loud.
The food and setting were very good--it was just very loud and hard to have conversations with everyone at the table (there were four of us).
Typical neighborhood type atmosphere. Comfortable. Good food, great service.
A great choice for dinner on the Upper West Side!!
Lovely restaurant :
Enjoyed our seafood and pasta dish !
Great sangria drinks!
friendly and respectful staff
I enjoyed the dining experience and selected the restaurant for the following evening as well.
The service was prompt. The food was good. The drinks were delicious. Would try again if I’m in the area.
Food and ambiance was good. Service was middling. We had to call our server over several times to get her attention. However, I will return.
What bottered me was the short time between meals. It was to fast while their were tables free
Fantastic dinner. All of the food was very tasty. Caprese salad and Angel hair cacio e pepe were top notch. Good wines by the glass. Great place to catch dinner before going to the Beacon. Have some outdoor seats but it was full when we got there so had to sit inside. Still a decent atmosphere. The icing on the cake was the service, attentive and friendly. Would def recommend.
Food amazing as always. The Gluten Free menu is large and everything is delicious. We have eaten here several times and my Son who has Celiac Disease has always done very well eating here. Enjoyable atmosphere and nice cocktails. Highly recommend.
