One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Their food has been getting better and better. Service is friendly and efficient. Ambiance is nice, inside and outside. Good heating system.
Always a pleasure eating here and this time the service was especially welcoming and attentive which was an added treat.
As always, the food is wonderful!
Excellent food and service. Wonderful ambiance with reasonable pricing. Would absolutely recommend to all.
The people were the best
Great food and just the perfect distance from the Opera. Book early and arrive with time in hand.
A good option if visiting the nearby American Museum of Natural History. The margarita pizza was fair, but the two pasta dishes ordered were good, with portion sizes appropriate for lunch. Don’t skip the garlic bread with marinara to start.
We had a lovely evening. Food was delicious, incredible portions. Devastated we had to leave food there cus we are staying at a hotel and couldn't take it with us! Would go back again whenever we return to New York.
We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner at Papparadella. The wine was good, the food was great and the desserts terrific. Best of all was the friendly staff and attentive service. Would love to visit again. Did you know that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pappardelle
Been coming here for decades and never disappoints.
Pappardella has fabulous food and a generous menu with something on it for everyone. I like being tucked away in a corner watching the the servers move through a puzzle of tables covered with beautiful food and smiling patrons. There is a buzz about this place that is so authentic: you’ll experience friends, families, and neighbors enjoying excellent food, while interacting with colorful servers seeking to please. No pretense here-just of multi-region Italian heaven.
We had a great evening-although Open Table
Emailed me today saying we didn’t show! I paid bill for
sun Evening dinner with Am express card
The food and service were excellent!
Really good food and service. Price is a good value too!
The food was excellent! Truly cooked to perfection.
Food was outstanding and serving portions were perfect! Everything was delicious and worth the price!
Restaurant a bit noisy. So we ate outside. Very cozy & warm, despite 40 degree temps. Short staffed as are all restaurants these days but we had a great waitress who really hustled. We never had to wait. They do offer appetizer size on pasta main course (when asked) & my Rigatoni Bolognese quite good. And a great gimlet.
Excellent food, service and setting.
What a gem! Was in the neighborhood overnight and found this place through Open Table. Warm ambiance, amazing food, excellent wine choices, and a great waiter. (The host was less warm but that was just a few seconds of the evening.) I will be back the next time I’m staying in the Upper West Side.
First, when I reserve outdoors, I expect it to be outdoors, not the outdoor area, with which I'm very familiar, totally enclosed. That's not outdoors, that's indoors. They didn't have a real outdoor table for us (there was some confusion as to what happened to the table; evidently it was used for a large party of 12 kids who were having a birthday party right next to us), so we accepted an indoor table in the formerly outdoor area. The GM wasn't particularly nice about the entire situation. No checking of our vaccination status or that of the 10 12-year-olds to my knowledge. Although my lobster ravioli was very good, my friend's chicken parmesan was cold and not particularly tasty. I will never return.
My family has visited Pappardella many times. Usually for brunch, which is excellent.
The lunch experience was up to our expectations. The food was excellent. The only difference between lunch and brunch is that the restaurant attracts a much larger crowd. But the staff was attentive to our needs and we were served in a timely manner.
We look forward to returning soon.
Love this restaurant. Always good!
Lively atmosphere and friendly service.
Pizzas are great and other foods also.
Good food and ambience, as well as good service. We enjoyed ourselves
Great food, excellent service but much too noisy. Happy that they are busy again..just wish it wasn't so loud.
Excellent food and service!!!
Our son came from LA on business. We love Pappardella and have been coming here for many, many years. So glad the restaurant made it through the pandemic.
Consistently great, my neighborhood fave!
Great service and delicious food
The servers were friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. I liked the overall environment.
Everything is delicious. Great service and ambiance!
Delicious meals (osso bucco & a mushroom pasta, lentil soup). Excellent service. Table was out in the sidewalk shed but we preferred that as the main dining room was a little noisy
Drinks were generous. My wife had a bruschetta appetizer which she enjoyed; I had the zuppe di pesce di mare which was excellent. Her main course was penne bisanzio which she enjoyed. I unfortunately can’t say the same for the veal parmigiana; I found the veal cutlet to be thin and a bit chewy; the accompanying spaghetti was average and the entire dish drowned in sauce; a pet peeve.
Tables were crowded together and the noise level left something to be desired; upon reflection I might have preferred to sit in the covered outdoor area. I will say that the service was prompt and attentive; prices are reasonable for upper west side standards.
All in all I wouldn’t classify it as a negative experience, rather average. I wasn’t unhappy, but I wasn’t jumping for joy either. On the whole, average food at average prices; an average experience.
Food was really well prepared and delicious. Great wine list at very reasonable prices. Would definitely eat here again. We had the rack of lamb and the spaghetti fruitti di mare. Lentil soup was delicious as well.
The food is always consistent and very very good both for bunch on the weekend and lunch or dinner. The servers are efficient and polite. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable whether Eating outside of inside. A neighborhood gem.
Our lunch was excellent! We started with the Giant Meatball which was so good! The olives were great and the Riviera salad was delicious. We had the Rigatoni Bolognese, Hanger Steak and Gamberi al Parmigiano. All were outstanding - so tasty and prepared perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again soon!
Loved that the item I wanted, while on the online menu, was not on the menu on-site, but the waitress had someone make it up just for me (spaghetti carbonara.) That shows wonderful customer service. Only other suggestion - offer butter with the bread too, not just the dipping oil. Some people aren’t as fond of the oil.
The tables are much too close together and the noise level too loud. We were about 12 inches from chairs next to and behind me. When I complained to the waitress she said “The pandemic is over we don’t have to follow those rules anymore.” I said “The pandemic is NOT over, this is just too close.” She was a bit belligerent about it but relented eventually and agreed that the pandemic was not over. Food was very good, as always. But noise level extremely high. Not as enjoyable as we would have hoped. We have been there many times. This was a Wed. evening. Sit outside if it’s not too cold.
Our experience at Pappardella was excellent. The service was spot on, the Vegetable soup was so so flavorful and served at just the right temperature, and the Caesar salad was perfect. What a great meal. My friend had the Pesto Gnocchi. It also was prepared perfectly.
Lovely venue for our celebration
Great Service and very attentive. great food. They even knew (Open Table) my birthday is coming and delivered a chocolate cake with a candle yet.
