We were visiting our son and his wife on the upper west side, staying at the Hotel Beacon. We enjoyed a remarkable meal beginning with a beautiful Barolo wine, melon and prosciutto, eggplant appetizers, followed by perfect veal and pasta dishes and finishing with gelato and cannoli. The place was packed and for good reason. Clearly THE local Italian restaurant in this area.
Amazing food! Beautiful place!
Great food, nice and thoughtful service, highly recommend it for friends get together, fun and evening outing. Local and authentic flavor ... very happy about our waitress. Very helpful and thoughtful.
Other than having to wait about ten minutes for the table, everything turned out really nice. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would definitely return and also recommend it to others!!!!
Good food and helpful friendly service. The spaghetti frutti de mare was excellent with plenty of seafood of all types. Also appreciate their extensive gluten free menu options and the attentiveness of the staff to gluten allergy issues. Excellent food and excellent value.
Great meal! Excellent Riviera salad and veal marsala; unfortunately, no room for dessert.
The service, however, was spotty at times.
Excellent gluten free options. The gluten free garlic bread is legit! Great ambiance in the evenings and comfy casual during the day. Pasta options are tasty and classic. Full bar service. A family favorite.
Great, cozy place with fab food! a real find in the neighborhood and worth the trip up there also
The staff was great. Super nice and friendly. The food was very good.
One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants, with an incredible Gluten free menu option!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Pappardelle. The restaurant is a quick walk from The Museum of Natural History, where we had just spent most of the day. Dinner was delicious - the Shrimp and Linguini special was delicious. The staff could not have been nicer or more professional. We will definitely return
We came here on a Thursday night while visiting NYC. They were great at accommodating my picky children (ages 7 and 9) and brought them a delicious plate of pasta with marinara sauce. I had the bronzino which was filleted and cooked perfectly. They did a great job of removing most of the bones! My mother ordered the spinach pasta with chicken and loved it! It was not the best Italian restaurant we've been too but it was very good. It was not crowded at all when we arrived at 5:30pm. We thought the service would have been a little faster considering this. But we were not in a rush so the meal came at a good pace for us. Would recommend! It' s a very short walk from the American Museum of Natural History.
This restaurant was wonderful. We arrived early for our reservation (1 hour) but this was no problem and we were seated promptly. My wife who has a gluten free diet was overly impressed with the cuisine. The gluten free choices were well beyond any other restaurants we have been to. We left for our show at the Beacon Theater at 6:30 happy that we were early because we enjoyed ourself so much. We would have loved to stay longer but KD Lang was calling. When we left the place was packed. It is a Manhattan Gem.
A neighborhood place that has managed to survive. Excellent for pasta. Both dishes the orrechetti with sausage and the bolgenais were excellent. Very friendly and solid service.
Staff was nice and restaurant was clean. Food was good.
This is not an inexpensive restaurant. We shared a caesar salad and each had a main course -veal parmigiana and veal marsala. The courses were about thirty dollars. I found the salad good but the veal in the entrees of mediocre quality. You will spend $60 easily which includes wine and tip.
It’s one of our neighborhood restaurants. It never disappoints
A very good Upper West Side local restaurant - very good food, generous portions, reasonably priced, attentive service - good ambience, though a bit too bright - turning down the lights would enhance the eve and late night dining experience. Only gripe - the bread served seemed tired. Not one of the 'cool' places, I suspect, but certainly a cut above many of the local area restaurants.
Great little spot that reminded us of dining experiences we had in Florence, Italy!
Great! Service and food were perfect.
I felt like the gluten free pasta Vongole was not worth our $26;
it looked like a very simple, bland plate of pasta where they didn’t drain it properly and just mindlessly threw in the clams.
It’s a typical plate that I can easily make it myself for at least half the costs.
Plus I didn’t get a good vibe of the waiters and they served the other guests who came right after us first while we were the ones who have booked an appointment.
At least the garlic bread was good.
It was quite disappointing because I’ve been there before about 6 months ago for dinner and it was a much better vibe with much better food and much better service.
Excellent food. Stuck with the pasta dishes- everyone at our table had the pasta except one and he was disappointed. However, all the pasta dishes were fantastic. Typical NYC restaurant- small tables and tight. But good service and casual ambiance
Really nice choice near the Museum of Natural History. Excellent food, including an extensive gluten free menu. Also, very friendly service.
We had a very pleasant experience! Great ambience, attentive waiters, yummy food and mimosas. Will definitely go again!
I took my 9e yr old dad for Valentines Day Sunday Brunch. We ordered eggs benedict and absolutely LOVED it. For a delish change the usual eggs benedict Canadian bacon was smartly replaved with Italian prosuctto. Absolutely psrfect! I intend on going again. Staff friendly and very attentive. Try it! You will love Brunch menu
We had fantastic service from the staff and the food was delicious.
Such a wonderful place to dine! A true classic New York, wonderful food, service place! You walk in and feel the quality immediately! One hopes to be dining in such a place in NY and rarely do you find it! Warm and refined, comfortable and superb in every way!
Went to Pappardella for my wife's 60th birthday. It was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. The food was outstanding; the service was great. It had a small neighborhood feel which added to the experience for us.
Passed it for years and finally went.
Very well worth it
Food was very good. Lemon sorbet for dessert was Rome worthy. Only drawback was our waitress didn’t mention the specials. We overheard them from a nearby table after we had ordered. Otherwise, nice ambiance.
Solid spot for a good meal. We went pre-theater and were greeted by a warm hostess. Waitstaff very attentive. Eggplant parmigiana and shrimp Parm were both good. Zabaglione dessert also enjoyable.
For a NYC restaurant, this restaurant provides excellent food at great value. Both my wife and I had (two different) excellent veal dishes. Their Prosecco was exceptional and according to the waiter was the basis for the original Bellini in Venice.
We definitely will return
What a nice find, the brunch food was yummy , great service and drinks. I will go again.
Good and service wonderful as usual. Great place to bring a guest. Will always have a good meal.
Had an excellant brunch, zucchini frittata , drinks, mimosa, bloody mary, window table, great for people watching. excellant service. High marks from me!!!!
A lovely Italian place on the UWS. Quite a find! The roasted root vegetables were a nice touch.
Pappardella provides excellent table service, taking away plates in a timely manner and cleaning the table of crumbs. Waitstaff is attentive and friendly. This matters as much to me as the quality of the meal. The food proportions are perfect, appropriate to a single person as opposed to family style. The orrecchietti with sausage and broccoli rabe was fantastic.
Pappardella is an attractive neighborhood restaurant with a nice selection of Italian standards. The servers are attentive, the noise level low. On my last visit, I was accompanied by my adult son, who uses a wheelchair. The restaurant staff was most accommodating, and made the meal the special occasion that I had hoped for.
So this was the 5th visit to Pappardella and its still on it's mark. Sunday brunch, great food, exceptional service..the type of place that one wished was in your own neighborhood. Looking forward to my next visit..the spaghetti and meatballs served at the next table were all too tempting!
