   we went there for my son’s 14th birthday when we got there the restaurant was almost empty, but we were only offered the very far corner tables and and told that the rest of the restaurant was not available. It took us one hour to get food. The service was very bad. We did not enjoy the food. The restaurant is very old. Our table was wobbly and had to be fixed with a wine cork. I would never go back there again.

While we understand the restaurant was not yet busy when you arrived at 12:00 PM, our indoor dining area filled quickly shortly thereafter. The table you requested had been reserved in advance for another special occasion, and we do our best to honor those prior arrangements. That said, we regret that the alternative seating options we offered did not meet your preferences. As a long-standing establishment in the neighborhood since 1983, we take great pride in our history, but we also recognize the importance of comfort and consistency in every guest’s experience. We're sorry that this visit fell short, and we appreciate your comments as they help us improve.

   Our dinner experience was delightful. The food was delicious, the service could not be better. We received a complimentary dessert for a birthday celebration! Though the restaurant was busy we were not rushed. I would recommend this restaurant.

   I have been living in NYC for 4 years. This is the most disappointing experience of 300+ restaurants in the city. Took 30 minutes to sit us down and we kept asking the maitre, she was extremely distracted. The waiter was slow, put funny (disrespectful) faces when we ordered food. Pasta was terrible, specially the caccio e pepe. The lasagna was good. Poor service, poor food, expensive. Please improve or it will become a tourist trap.

   Love this neighborhood restaurant. Food consistently excellent. Only criticism is that noise level very high.

   The food was delicious, as always. The wait staff was attentive and helpful, but unobtrusive. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, though a bit noisy.

   Food as always was quite good but bread was not brought until we asked. Server was very busy but took care of us as well as she could, and was friendly.

   A bit noisy. We expected a routine, run of the mill restaurant as we remembered it from the last time we dined there a few years back. This time it was surprisingly good. Excellent calamari (not fried, which is usual) but in a delicious sauté, and the pappardelle with mushrooms were great, as were the linguini. The ricotta cheesecake was one of the best I've had. Highly recommended.

    Came to eat here before and walked in where no one greeted us. It seemed like one of the employees was more concerned with a regular but paid no attention to me and my friend. Waited for almost 10 mins and finally someone who was done with their shift and on their way out seated us. Very nice of her;however again another 10 minutes went by and no one came to us. I’m understanding if someone is busy but no acknowledgment of our presence is unacceptable. And as a preg woman I was hungry! Will not return.
